Okay so I have to say I have had glasses since I was six and I have always had good service wherever I go. BUT if I have to review about an optometrist with AMAZING service it would be here. When you walked in you are greeted by their friendly staff and by the end of your appt. you feel like you know them. Their technician goes above and beyond his call of duty with his knowledge, attentiveness and cracking little jokes where he can. Dr. Griffin is also very friendly and he truly cares about your vision and is not pushing you on things just because....which is a big plus for me. All and all if you are looking for a place with excellent service, a friendly staff/optometrist and get great vision (with the best products for you), this is the place. read more

Dr. Patrick and Jim are great. Dr. Patrick is so friendly and calm and explains everything he clearly. Jim is great and makes the appointment fun. I appreciate that he gets so much of the preliminary eye exam portion out of the way so Dr. Patrick has time to spend with the patient. I've never had a problem getting an appointment and they are pretty accommodating. my only complaint is the cost of their glasses. They don't have much (any) of a selection of lower priced frames. The cheapest ones we could find were $300, so it cost me over $600 for exam and glasses for my teen. The eye staff is so wonderful I will keep going there for exams and updating my prescritpions (and for contacts), but I have found somewhere else to purchase glasses that is much more reasonable read more

I have been going to Griffin Op for two years now and take my teenage daughter as well. Jim first gives awesome care to your preliminary-tests; he even makes the pressure "puff" test a breeze! Dr Patrick gives wonderful care and personal attention to my daughter and me. Recently went for vision check-up. Have been wearing glasses all my life. Was encouraged to purchase all the "NEW" offerings out today. Fundus Photography ,enhanced fit polycarbonate PR,Advance UV treatment to lenses, The list goes on. Pick up my new glasses and can't read small print anymore. Wavey effect seen when you turned your head. Constant readjusting to read simple print to find spot where I could read. I voiced my concerns to lady who was helping me and she told me lenses are perfect, I should "PRACTICE" with them .20 minutes on , 20 minutes off, for up to 10 days. I've never had to Practice seeing! After 3 nauseating days I went back to see Randy Griffin, who said he was going to "TWEEK" them for me. I declined. I travel for work frequently and need to see .Can't PRACTICE anymore. Ineed my old prescription which an "old style progressive" as Dr. Griffin called it. It was't that I didn't just not LIKE new lenses, it was I could't see with new lenses. What needs to be made known and should have been made know to me before I was sold alot of "NEW" stuff, was YOU NEED TO PRACTICE SEEING you just can't put these new lens on , and go live your life. So... anyone who is entertaining purchase of New Progressive type lenses,be aware of Practice time, PLEASE ask about this. They cost me $631.00, not inexpensive. The difference in price between my old lenses $310..00, and new style $631.00 is alot. I was told ,after a number of phone calls that I would not be receiving a credit of any kind. I was paid in full. I finally was able to speak with Randy Griffin again, and he reiterated they don't give credit. I was finally told a credit of $97.00 would be given,THANKS! I went to them because this is their area of expertise, not mine. In addition, I had called 3 TOP optical shops in N.Y.C. for a price on what my old lenses would cost today and was told $310.00. Was giving benefit of doubt to Griffin Optical by calling N.Y. opticians,because N.Y. Is one of the 2 most expensive places to live , work, purchase things, just to be clear. It's not that Griffin is not a Good place for an exam, they are, it's all the small things that are of issue! read more

My very first visit here was nothing short of perfect. Customer service was top notch, the testing done before I met the eye doc was more thorough than I had had before at my old place. Dr. Griffin was very, VERY excited to help me with my dilemma of being very farsighted in one eye and very nearsighted in the other. I work in a medical setting and need to switch my gaze frequently. Contacts in the past have been very uncomfortable while glasses had to come off and on. Nobody before this had suggested progressive lenses. I spent more than I had hoped to but I couldn't be happier with the results! The frames I got are so beautiful, the fit was done very carefully and they are super comfortable. While I was told I would need a few weeks to adjust to the progressive lenses I actually was perfectly comfortable within just a few days. The front office staff is friendly and helpful and really know their business, too! I would recommend this office to everyone in the San Clemente area and then some! read more

Please do not bring your family here. VERY dishonest. We usually see Dr. Patrick and have had no issues at all with him - he was always wonderful, as is Jim. But on our last visit we saw Dr. Demoss and I am SHOCKED by the level of dishonesty we experienced with her. She looked me in the eye and told me one thing and then when we left she told her staff to do the complete opposite. When I found out what she had done, NOTHING was done to remedy it. An absolute lack of integrity and customer service. When I make a mistake, I bend over backwards trying to make it right. Not so with this office. I was met with a complete lack of understanding or compassion. I will NEVER allow my family to be subjected to this office again and I very much hope you think twice before allowing them to have anything to do with your eye care. You can not do better than going to Griffin Optometric Group. I am lucky enough to see Dr. Patrick Griffin, but the whole office environment and staff are great. It is a comfortable and comforting experience. Everything is explained thoroughly, anything you need is taken care of. If you order glasses, they will work with you to get exactly what accommodates your taste as well as your vision needs. I wear glasses with the dividing lines and on occasion after they are all made up, I find something I need changed. No problem, no hassle. read more

After seeing the same eye doctor my whole life (since 2nd grade) he retired. I found Griffin OG as it was close to home and made an appointment. I cannot speak highly enough of their practice. I've seen Dr. Lucy (can't remember her last name) and Dr. Griffin. They are the upmost of kind and professional and truly care about correcting your vision properly and your comfort. The office staff is amazingly kind! It's almost surreal, they are caring and understanding. I had to bring my 9 month old with to an appointment and they were so sweet to him when he tried to escape during my exam. A previous reviewer mentioned the eyeglass pricing; they carry really nice high end glasses/sunglasses, I think that's just par for the course for the area the office is in. But if that's not the kind of eyewear you're looking for you definitely don't have to buy it, they are not high pressure at all. I get contacts and the pricing on those was on par with anywhere. I highly recommend this practice and have found my next long term eye doctor. read more
