After reading some of the previous reviews, I was Leary of purchasing from Griggs. They had the best combination of quality and price, so I went back to the store to ask about the reviews regarding installation. As it turns out, they have sales rep, Nancy, that used to have her own store and she brought her favorite installer with her. They just finished my installation and did a superb job. Not overly impressed so far. Scheduled install that we had boarded dogs and taken off work for got derailed due to illness. Apparently there is no back up plan. When called to complain, since job was already started and everything was a huge mess,salesman Wayne said he couldn't guarantee when the job would be completed. Meanwhile, sleeping on the couch! Obviously we were upset and Wayne simply hung the phone up! Who does that? Finally talked to owner who rescheduled some things and sent a crew out. Will update when job is completed. well it didn't get any better. Crew #2 came out. At first they appeared to know what they were doing. when they had the bulk of the floor down, they said they would finish when additional material came in. When we went upstairs, we discovered both a dresser drawer broken, and wooden pieces of what had been the dresser leg. Flooring was bubbled up due to debris underneath, Flooring was coming loose and falling off of the stairs. We were not happy! I contacted an independent contractor who stated it was the worst he had seen. I don't want any of the Griggs employees back. If you break something you should tell the owner. read more

I was sold 93 yards of carpet for a living room and two smaller bedrooms. I measured it and determined it was about 70 sq. Yards. So when I was told it measured 93 yards I just blew it off as a miss measurement on my part. When the guys finished they left the remainder of the carpet in one of the bedrooms. I was more than shocked to see 3 large pieces. I mean large. Probably 20/25 sq. yards. I am an old man and have had lots of carpet installed and have never had so much left over. I get it, it is much easier and quicker not to have to piece it but really? I suspect the sales person probably figured I was maybe a little senile and he would soak me for a few hundred bucks. Well he did. So hard to keep from getting cheated these days. We are happy with our carpet otherwise but if you are considering Griggs, you might want to keep looking. Be on your toes with these guys. read more

Cheap materials, shoddy workmanship, lousy sales staff! Despite being family owned and local, those are the only positive things I can say about this company. We spent $8000 for 1666 square feet of glue down Shaw vinyl plank in a new construction home. The installer was sloppy and lazy. He cut too deep into a door frame, and did not adequately prep the foundation. There are so many bumps and lumps in our living room and throughout the house that we are taking on the expense of ripping up the flooring and having another flooring company install better flooring materials. I tried via email and registered mail to resolve the matter directly, since my builder was not addressing the issue. I called after 10 business days of them receiving my letter and was told that they wouldn't file a workmanship warranty claim. Hindsight is 20/20 and we should have told our builder that we'd handle getting the flooring done. January can't come soon enough. Kenny and his wife didn't ever send anyone here to see my flooring issues either. So save the heartache and money and go elsewhere!!! read more

Outstanding. Did what they said, when they said, in standard manner. No problems. Best of any of the many businesses I dealt with in my year long project in Lubbock. read more
