    Dog friendly , pleasant patio

Hubby and I could not resist the BURLY MAJESTY of the FOOT LONG GREEN& RED CHILI DOGS . At least we went with the 1/2 & 1/2 after our waitress cheerfully suggested we do so . We enjoyed our view of the Butte and historic downtown... remarked how once the New Hilton hotel finishes construction, the riverfront location will be quite serene . The Leinnekugel Shandy on tap was a real bonus Treat!

Eva is awesome! We had snacks for dinner and everything was MAGNIFICENT! Pretzel bites, chicaronnes, and wings-my favorite food. It was all hot, fresh and delicious. Did not get the managers name but he was really nice too-grew up eating chicaronnes and man I know why!

Food is good but the service is a bit lacking. I think it is more of an issue with the possibly one of the wait staff being short staffed or somebody not showing up for their shift. The waitresses that were at the restaurant never slowed down and very friendly. Great spot next to the highway. Great patio.

Super cute location, with a covered patio and extended patio. Walking in, is welcoming. People bring their dogs too:) our waitress was super sweet. They have little fly propeller things on table to if your outside. The food was fresh and really good. I got the 805 on tap to drink. Great view of commerce and the mountain. I go

So club 14 used to be a train depot, it was converted to a restaurant/grill 4 years ago. It's clean, nice and comfortable. It's off the beaten path, but totally worth it. The service was quick and friendly. The drinks were delicious. The food was amazing, but portions and def a place you will have leftovers at. Our table got two chili dogs, a burger and nachos. The flavors of all were amazing, the quality of the dogs was unmatched, not your normal Oscar Mayer. The size was big, and you have the option to upgrade to a foot long. The burger was good, but extras like cheese and caramelixed onions are $1.50 each . All in all it's a must go to, but expect to pay a pretty penny. Each plate is at least $15 + add ons. Meals and drinks for 4 people was over $100

As always Yelp brought me to a new place to eat. We were on a road trip and ready for some lunch. The Purple Toad has good reviews and a great location next to the interstate. The location is awesome. Pulling into the parking lot you see a very nice restaurant and great patio with permanent tent covering. The staff was very friendly and management came out to check on us several times. My friend ordered a chicken wrap and he liked it. He said it was just a bit spicy for him but tasty nonetheless. I had the mushroom Swiss burger and we both had fried. A little bummed when it was a slow day and they had already run out of tater tots. My burger was a big patty and lots of crab vegetables on potato bread bun. It was cooked nicely but could have used just a little more taste in it. Overall a very nice place and I'd definitely stop by again driving through Pueblo.

We were driving through to get to Denver when we stumbled on this little gem of a town. We were starving and decided to stop at Club 14 because we had our pup and they advertised puppy friendly patio. We were greeted so warmly by the staff and the locals. Our pup got its own bowl of water! We loved their flavorful wings! Their hearty chile nachos where delish and I love that they do not skimp on the queso. This will definitely be my go to place on my next road trip.

The building itself is great -- adobe-style, colorful, and exactly what you hope a Mexican restaurant looks like. When you walk in, the atmosphere is lively and welcoming. We were greeted right away and seated immediately. Chips and salsa came out quickly. The salsa tasted fresh and traditional, but it had a little more kick than I personally can handle. (If you like spicy, you'll probably love it.) We also ordered guacamole, because we order guacamole everywhere we go -- it's kind of our thing. This one surprised us a bit. Instead of the usual chunky guac with onions and tomatoes, it was more like mashed avocado with a generous amount of red pepper flakes. Unfortunately that pushed it into "too spicy for me" territory. For drinks we shared a piña colada, which was fantastic -- topped with whipped cream and a cherry and exactly what you want after a long day of driving. I ordered the combo fajitas (chicken and steak) and they came out sizzling hot on the classic cast-iron platter with peppers, onions, and tomatoes. Always a good sign when you can hear your dinner coming from across the room. It came with rice, beans, sour cream, and guacamole on the side. The rice had a nice smoky flavor and the beans were topped with melted cheese -- both really good. They don't automatically include shredded cheese with the fajitas, but they happily brought some when I asked. My husband ordered the chicken and cheese quesadilla appetizer, but when it arrived we both laughed because it was enormous -- definitely entrée-sized. He said it was really good and had no trouble finishing it. Service was a little slow, but the place was busy and had a great vibe. It felt like one of those local spots people in town love. It's also right near the highway, which probably makes it a popular stop for travelers like us. Prices were about what you'd expect for a sit-down Mexican restaurant. No military discount, but overall still a solid experience. If we find ourselves driving through Trinidad again, we'd absolutely stop back in.
