We ordered a pizza before noon to be delivered, expecting it to arrive around 1:00. Checked the status at 1:00 and it was showing delayed. Kept waiting for it to arrive, and after 1:30, checked again, and the app was showing the order was cancelled. Called the restaurant and spoke to the manager, and they refused to do anything about it (i.e. make the order and deliver it, with comp extras or coupons or something) except refund the money. This is absolutely terrible service and unacceptable. I will never be dining at this location in the future, and will be spreading the word about our terrible experience. read more

We started off with a trio of bruschetta; there was mushroom, artichoke and olive - I had the olive one of it was very tasty. Next came out the salads; a caesar and a mediterranean- both very fresh and tasty - not heavy on the dressings. Then we tried a selection of their pizzas; The Don, their Traditional Pizza Topped with Italian Sausage, Meatballs and Pepperoni - it was good and all their cheese is hand cut rather than shredded. Next was their White Pizza topped with mini pepperoni which again was great, a lot of cheese. Finally their Garden pizza aka their veggie pizza, topped with Fresh Roma Tomatoes, Sliced Onions, Mushrooms and Black Olives, however all the toppings made the base a little soggy. Also I asked for ranch to dip my crust in, and got told "our crust is so good it doesn't need ranch, but your welcome to bring your own!", lol - tbh I could have done with some ranch. Then we tried a selection of their desserts, we got a big slice of their Caramel Coconut Cheesecake, a chocolate cannoli and a trio selection plate with a slice of tiramisu, Oreo cheesecake and a cannoli. TBH I wasn't keen on many of the desserts, I'm not a big cheesecake fan, and I wasn't keen of the cannoli filling, too sweet cream cheese frosting. However the tiramisu was great, next time I just want one big slice of that! The restaurant itself has a nice feel about, very swish and modern, and the open bar. She was a few years older and more experienced than her colleagues, and it showed. I'd rate our visit 5 stars if based solely upon service. Kroger-tier wine list. Cheesy "NY" style atmosphere and decor. Extremely overpriced. I've worked in the pizza industry for nearly 20 years; their pizza is "ok" at best. Sauce was tasty, cheese was fitting and the toppings were evenly distributed and I didn't feel skimped, but the crust.... boy, what a disappointment. There's nothing NY about it and while marginally tasty, this is nothing better than pizza you could make at home with Pillsbury dough. Nothing tasted freshly made aside from the dough. A plus for sure, but a freshly-made pizza should engulf the room, your mouth and your nose with aromas. None of that happened. For the money you could spend on a date for two, you could buy enough flour to learn to make pizza at home and never be disappointed like Grimaldi's again. read more

They told me it was going to take 45 minutes to get that ready which I thought was a little long but I showed up to the restaurant 50 minutes later to pick up my. I came to Grimaldi's for the first time. I started with the Mediterranean salad. It was delicious. Even the small is enough for two people. The pizza is served thin crust. Today, we went in for a large pizza which is already 18 dollars for just cheese. You can get ifratelli (loaded pizza for 18 bucks and it's quality is always better).. anyways.... my husband doesn't like ricotta so we always get meatballs on the whole thing and ricotta on half. My husband decided he wanted pepperoni. Our pizza comes, looks delicious. Had a lot of trouble finding the ricotta I had to pay 2.00 for on 4 slices of pizza. The cheese was so laid on it didn't even melt. You couldn't even bite through it. Pizza had very little sauce (don't you DARE ask for more sauce... they charge you for that too) I ate one piece of pizza and pulled off all the unmelted thick layer of cheese. No one at our table enjoyed our pizza, we did take it to go, because I'll re bake it at home and we paid a lot for that pizza and weren't just going to leave it. Our waiter did come by and ask how it was, we showed him the unmelted mountain of thick cheese and he even scoffed a little bit about how not right it looked. It was horrible. His suggestion was to take the remaining pieces and place them back in the oven. There were four people (3 adults and a 3 year old) who all had a piece already... take it and put it back in the oven? No. We should have had a new pizza especially since we were paying almost 30 dollars for a pizza. My disappointment here was no manager came and looked at it, offered to make a new one, or even apologized. Waiter offered to give us a free cannoli because our pizza wasn't good. We weren't looking for a free pizza. Just a new one. We would frequent Grimaldi's often and this visit really ruined it for me and we will not be wasting our money for expensive and mediocre at best pizza. read more

The Grimaldi's in Dallas is amazing. However, the Grapevine location is a vast disappointment. Save your money, Don't order from here. We have given this location so many chances and every time they disappoint. Last night we ordered pizza and I will never order from here again. See pics. There were hardly any toppings on both the pizzas, given the price of Grimaldi's you would think they would be generous, or at least meet the bare minimum of expectations. We ordered the Brooklyn Bridge pizza which comes with sausage, ricotta cheese, and roasted red peppers. I did not see or taste one roasted red pepper. You can see in the picture that there was barely any sausage. We ordered a traditional pizza and paid extra to add pepperonis to the "whole" Pizza. You can see in the picture there's actually a slice of pizza that has zero pepperonis on it. I literally had to take toppings from multiple slices of pizza to make one edible slice for each type of pizza. We also ordered two Caesar salads, which were really good, but come on, no one orders pizza without expecting to enjoy pizza. Our tab was over $100 and this is the crap they gave us. We are throwing away all the leftovers cause it's literally pizza bread and marinara, such a waste of money. AND in my pizza there was black solid crunchy bits that felt like I was chewing on glass!!! I took a chunk out of my mouth, it definitely was not food. I hate this Grimaldi's service. We have ordered to go several times, every time there's a 45 minute to 1 hour wait. That's not the worst!! This has become an occasional lunch destination for myself and a dear friend and former co-worker to have a nice lunch and catch up. It's about midway between us, and it's not overly crowded during lunch. Our usual pattern is to order a shared pizza and something for an appetizer. From the appetizer list, we've had the following: Antipasto - Featuring a generous amount of fresh mozzarella, an assortment of olives, and genoa salami, this is a nice starter, but it could use some additional variety in the meat department. Bruschetta trio - A seasonal dish featuring marinated mushrooms & roasted red pepper, marinated artichoke, and an olive medley on individual toast rounds. They were all fairly good; adding some acidity would have helped this dish For pizzas, we've done several different ones, and they've all been really good. I've never had NY pizza in NY, so I can't speak to the authenticity, but they always have a nice crust and quality toppings. Our most recent featured mushrooms, red peppers, Italian sausage, and kalmata olives, and it was definitely a knockout. We'll be back for more pizza and chatting, for sure! read more

This place had a little bit more of an upscale feel then a regular Pizzeria. It was clean and the decor was nice. All of the pizzas I had work good but I think the Margherita was the best. I always doctor up my pizza with a little bit of parmesan and red pepper but they also had garlic powder and oregano which I highly recommend experimenting with because they really helped bring out the flavor of the pies. 3 small pizzas and a soda cost about $50. Little pricey for pizza but like I said, a little higher end vibe walking in so I'm not surprised. And it is coal fired which you can taste. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance, food, and service!! We were promptly greeted and shown to our table. The host sat us near the bar which normally isn't my favorite spot because it's typically noisy but it was perfect! The restaurant had a good amount of people but even then you didn't hear a ridiculous amount of noise from the employees or other customers. I definitely appreciated this after a long day! The decor is inviting, warm, and calming! I loved their wine bottle chandeliers! Our waitress was amazing! She kept our drinks filled and made sure our other needs were being met. Well I ordered one pizza and when I went to pick it up, they weren't busy. I got home and half the pizza was black on the bottom. The flavors weren't bad but half of it is burnt to crap. Someone didn't realize they need to rotate the pizza in the oven I guess. And to send a pizza out like this? Have some pride in your work.
