We went for a quick lunch and then headed back with our puppy for a couple of hours. The inside restaurant and bar was very unique, loved it. Kind of retro and plenty to do. The outside is really fun all the way around. My puppy really loved the little river they have. The staff is amazing, attentive, sweet and extremely friendly. A really cool bar on the East Side of El Paso. Better than most standard bars, where it's just a bunch of folks cramped inside a small space. Gringo utilizes their plot of land really well. Not only do the have a large, traditional bar inside, with plenty of tables and arcade games and music and of course, a big old bar... but they have a fenced off outside area as well. Pretty large too... as it boasts some water features, slides (yes full on adult sized slides), the large novelty games, swings, a turtle racing area (that's not a metaphor), tables, picnic tables, giant chairs (cute for photos), a REALLY good food truck and (to me), the prime feature - a Dog Park. YUP, Gringo Theory has an actual, big sized fenced off Dog Park INSIDE their outdoor area. So naturally, the place is dog friendly. Now then, with such amazing outdoor features, you can imagine during fair weather, paydays and weekends, the place gets packed. But if you go on a sweater weather kinda 1 week before payday Wednesday night? The place is yours for the taking lol. Tons of TVs everywhere, playing what everyone in a bar setting wants to see: Sports. Inside and outside, whatever game is on, will be on. The food truck is a nice touch. Some bars do boast a kitchen, but what's really cool about this place, they have an actual food truck inside the outdoor area right next to the dog park. Burgers, footlong hotdogs, loaded fries and loaded nachos, and of course... TACOS! Al Pastor, Carne Asada, and even some legit Birria! There is a bar, with bartenders, both inside and outside. So no matter where you're roaming around at, you can grab a drink. The staff is friendly and I've never had an issue with any of them. Overall it's a pretty cool place. You can drink, play games, hangout with friends and family or have a date, catch the sports game, bring your dogs, eat dinner etc. Just keep in mind peek hours and days. Well, unless that's what you're after. ME? I'm a 65 degree outside Wednesday night 1 week before payday kinda guy. I've never been to a bar were I felt more excitement, well treated and letting me know future events. Our dog was welcome inside the bar and outside on the patio. They have all kinds of patio games and an enclosed dog park. If you are drinking beer, you are set, if it gets to you. Now, if you're on the side of a shot or mixed drink, you will be disappointed , the staff pour a three quarter shot for a single drink. If you request a double then the same applies. TABC would probably have a field day. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I have 3 little fur balls and some of the dog parks in El Paso suck because of all the thorns that get stuck in their paws. But this place is AWESOME!! My fur babies love it here because they can run and play in the little dog park while I chill and have a drink and some tacos. Also, the server girls are so friendly they love all dogs who come visit. The food is super delicious also.. I recommend the shrimp tacos because they super flavorful. They also have adult outdoor games inside and outside if you choose to chill with some friends and have drinks. This place gets pretty busy on Saturday's but if you come during the week it shouldn't be too bad. They also have karaoke inside the bar in case anyone is a good singer. The only bad part is that they only have one dog park area for big and small dogs so your BIG dog has to be nice to the little guys that want to play also... but besides that .... Awesome place to come and hangout with friends or on a date! The drinks are good and there's always a ton of nice people here! They hand a ton of outdoor yard games like bags, connect 4, and much more. Coolest part is they are dog friendly and even have a fenced area for you pet pal. The ambiance here is good, and they even have a shack that sells food, I ended up getting (4) street tacos for $8. And honestly they were terrific! They have arcade games inside too! The ambiance was so relaxing and so dog friendly and exactly what we were looking for when we wanted our dog to take a nice break after road-tripping for 6 hrs while we wanted to grab a bite for ourselves! The outdoor patio is so clean and beautifully designed! He loved the bone pool and had so much fun with another dog. They were the only 2! Service was great, they were so attentive as we were supervising our dog in the park area. I saw the lights of Gringo Theory from the highway and told my traveling companions that I had to try it. Two of us returned later that evening for cheap drinks and people watching. I'm pretty sure we were the oldest people to ever visit GT, and we were ignored as such so it was easy to people watch. The crowd was young - 21 to 30 and diverse but mostly Hispanic. The inside bar area has video game consoles and game tables - pool, foosball, etc. There are also a couple of games areas outside and they stayed populated - games like cornhole. There is nice-sized dog park and there were 2-3 people who'd brought their pups out. There is a food truck so snacks are available. The bar area is large and connected with a portion inside and outside. We ordered the cheapest drinks we've had in years - $6 each! We couldn't wait to pay for them! If you're young and visiting El Paso, Gringo would be a good pre-party spot. read more

Stopped by here when I went to El Paso! The drinks here are great and not expensive. The place is huge with so many games you can play. I enjoyed the glow in the dark pool. The only thing is that there are some games that don't work which kind of sucked. But everything else is great. Service was good. It's a great place to hang out with friends and family, or even take someone on a date. It's a great place where you can go to take really great photos. Sunday Funday in The Sun City. Recently moved back to El Paso from Big D after 20 years and was in search for dog friendly establishments in El Paso. So glad my dog and I found Gringo's Bark Park/Theory Bar. Reminds me of a smaller version of Mutts Cantina (Big D) and The Shacks in The Colony, TX. Staff was friendly/welcoming, and they offer great happy hour specials. They also have a small food truck trailer in the back patio serving great tasting tacos and burgers. I hope this place continues to thrive and grow. There is so much potential to expand with all the vacant land around this establishment. Love this place. First and foremost I love the concept of a patio bar that is extremely dog friendly . Also love the patio games that are set up. This is such a hidden gem in El Paso!! You walk in and there is the bar on the right and an arcade area as well as glow-in-the-dark pool tables on the left. Everything costs money in quarters and there is a machine to swap money for change as long as you have cash. The outdoor area is sooo cute! There is an outdoor bar with four big TVs and the entire outdoor area is lit-up at night! There's a yard with basketball beer pong, corn-hole, Jenga, ping-pong, and connect-four. There's also a food truck with delicious tacos. ALSO (the coolest part)-- there is actually fenced in dog parks attached to the outdoor area- one for big and one for small dogs. The entire place is super dog friendly- you can have them inside or outside on a leash and bring them in the dog park unleashed. The dog parks are a pretty good size for a bar. I went when it was dark out, but it seems like a nice place for a Saturday afternoon as well- they open at 2 pm. I also loved the music. They played 90s-early 2000s hip hop and alternative/rock. They also did mix in some current music. Most people were in their late 20s-early 30s. Plenty of seating for big groups of people! A cool place to hangout with a group of friends and bring your dog while drinking a beer. The only reason I gave it four stars was because the actual bar selection was disappointing. They don't have draft beers-only bottles. They also don't have their liquor showing, so I wasn't really sure what liquor they had. If the bar were to improve, I would give it five stars. read more
