I had high hopes for Evaga and it wasn't bad but it kinda let me down - a solid but unremarkable 3 of 5. The location is beautiful - part of The Elmont complex, but the whole dining experience really was average at best. The location was fairly empty on a Friday for lunch & had no concerns with the service. Ordered the guacamole to start - the presentation was nice but the tostadas were not nearly as tasty as they looked and a bit stale. For the main courses, we tried the Chicken Poblano sandwich with fries and the Korean BBQ Tacos. Again, both were okay but would I order either again, probably not. I'll give Evaga another shot in the future but it's gotta hit next time to stay in the rotation. read more

Worst service I've experienced, reservation for two people on the website wasn't acknowledged, place was empty, employee yelled from across the restaurant we could sit wherever we wanted, no one approached us or provided us with menu's, had to grab them from the bar, approached female waitress, didn't make eye contact, while looking at her tablet told us someone would be e with us shortly, another couple arrived, they were greeted offered menus and sat down, finally a bar tender approached us, brought water, said he wold be back, never came back from tending customers at the bar, after I got up to approach female waitress, again, she said she was going to refuse to serve us, because we were rude, let me repeat that, WE WERE RUDE! I want this place to succeed so badly! It was very close to a five star experience, but took off a star because the food was just okay and very expensive. The food was simply alright - not bad, but not worth the price. Drinks were also expensive and "luxury" - I ordered two and one was significantly better tasting than the other. The inside is pretty, with very bright lights, and lots of seating. It's weird because you walk in and it's the swim club behind the tables. I wish the lighting wasn't so bright especially because the decor is so beautiful, and would suite some better "mood lighting". Service was great, and the experience was good overall. So my family had made reservations for this coming Sunday, Mothers day, and that went through fine through Open Table. Those reservations were made with plenty of time to spare and we didn't give it another thought until last night, the 7th of May when I clicked on the link to check out their menu and I see our reservation was CANCELED by them. I called my sister and asked if she had canceled it and said no she had not. She called this morning,the 8th of May and they stayed the blame game saying it was Open Tables fault. Hey, they use that app so them maybe they should use another app. They didn't have the common courtesy to even try and call us to explain what the issue was. Hard choice between 3 and 4 stars! More worthy of 4 than 3 I guess, hence the 4 Star choice! Now this is a great space, in a great area...the swim club thing looks like a blast. Honestly the night I came in with a coworker this place was dead...just the 5 of us I think, two customers and three staff! Service was great. The people working were bored I guess but didn't seem to be overbearing. Had a few drinks and some food. Now I will say I got the mushroom tacos and where they were good and I appreciated a vegan / vegetarian taco this one just fell short. The shells were dry and chewy and the filling was just pretty unimpressive! Now from a guy that believes in making fresh tortillas there is no reason for a lame shell...don't want to spend the time or prepare them right, make sandwiches not tacos! Had been wanting to check out Evaga and finally did yesterday! The restaurant can be found within the newly built Elmont Swim Club. The space has a big entrance facing El Paso's beautiful sunsets. As soon as we entered we were greeted by our server. She was very attentive, and so was the manager and the chef. All of them welcomed us and gave us recommendations on what to try. I tried a few cocktails because they were 50% off for Happy Hour. The drinks were very crafty and strong just how I like them. In terms of food, we tried the compressed watermelon, cobb salad with chicken, and the potato tacos with sopa de fideo. All of what we tried was delicious but the star of our experience was the watermelon. The chef shared that they are gonna launch a brunch menu soon which Im very excited for. So happy to have this addition in the Montecillo area. Looking forward to returning and having their yummy cocktails/food. read more

We had put in a reservation for breakfast on the weekend for my father's birthday. They weren't open at 9 and we had to walk around to get someone's attention to open the door and start serving us. They looked a little surprised to have customers that early and we were the only ones there that whole time. Disclaimer that I've only had their breakfast and dined outside so I cannot review anything outside of that experience. That being said, lets break down the visit. Service: Other than being seated a little late, we were accommodated with seating outside and our waitress Tori was phenomenal. Friendly and fast with what we ordered and she gave great recommendations for the menu. Honestly, she did everything right from a business point of view. She even told us about the cabanas and the events they were having later that day and gave us fliers when we were curious about what they provided. Without prompting, she offered us an umbrella if the sun started to shine too much our way and offered fruit with a candle since they didn't have cake for my fathers birthday. The best show of customer service I've seen in a long time from an individual standpoint as she went out of her way to help us enjoy our breakfast experience and was friendly while also promoting the business excellently. Food: Food was delicious and at a reasonable cost for the area and amount of food in my opinion. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken needed a bit more flavor but with even a little bit of the chipotle cream sauce that comes with it it was amazing (though it was a little spicy for me). Mixed with the syrup it was to die for. The chicken was also crispy (but tender inside) which provided extra texture to the fluffy waffles. I also had a strawberry flavored lemonade that was the perfect amount of sweetness to sour. Everyone else also enjoyed their food, especially the red pozole, which my father praised endlessly. Ambiance: When we first got there it was very quiet with only the nice sounds of the pool. They eventually put on a little music which wasn't too loud and was very modern, which I enjoyed. They said they had an event later and many people passed by who seemed to work in the pool areas. There was shade and it was easy to find parking. All in all, a scenic view that was relaxing but not boring and reminded us of a vacation away from home, which is a hard thing to accomplish in El Paso. Cons: They weren't prepared for guests despite the reservation, which might annoy some customers if the door is locked passed the time they said they would be open. Also, people were moving stanchion type poles and moving lots of things around by us, even moving my fathers walker themselves to move things out of the way and near our table. Unsure if this was just due to them preparing for the event later or not so I won't let it impact my review too much. Though I suggest that the people working and helping moving things around should have better working attire instead of very low riding jeans and baggy shirts from a business standpoint. Even at a laid back resort I doubt anyone wants to see workers underwear while they are eating. The staff at the restaurant were dressed appropriately for a resort, however, so I did not let that influence my rating of the restaurant itself since it may be a situational type of thing. Also, if you get there early and plan to sit outside be aware that the dumpster truck also goes by at that time so you will get a few minutes of loud noise and beeping. Final thoughts: Delicious food and service that would have anyone going back for more and I am no exception! I will definitely have to go back to try out more of their menu and see some of the band nights the resort is hosting. However, I will go back later in the day so that they are more ready for customers and I can get a better perspective of the restaurant as a whole. The pool looks very clean and the cabanas look private and engaging. They also have areas where you can take trendy photos and next door they say they have a fitness gym. I recommend going for any kind of outing or check out what else they offer around the area before coming in for lunch. This place has it all! read more

Very nice experience visiting this location for the first time with my wife. Friendly staff, and good atmosphere. Pricing seemed fair. Both appetizers were great, seemed well thought out and beautifully displayed. Both cocktails I tried were unique and tasty. The pizza was just OK, generously portioned but definitely didn't stand up to the rest of the food. I'd not order it again. Some of the other menu items seemed worth coming back to try however. The ambiance was relaxed in a very open and restaurant hall type with a modern vibe. Their avocado toast with egg was very tasty. The omelette was poorly executed. Just barely two eggs, this small folded omelette was thin and really disappointing. Typically a folded omelette should at least have three eggs and some cream to give it some creamy consistency. The service was very dedicated and friendly. Overly zealous and attentive, as the staff was at our table every two seconds. It was just too much. While visiting El Paso, I was looking for a nice spot for date night besides the typical spots like Ruth Chris or Apple Bees and was lucky enough to find this Hidden Gem. I was caught off guard since the location is in a secluded area but once you walk into the place it's a complete eye opener of beautiful elegance and aesthetics. We came in on a Sunday night between 5pm and 7pm and the place was empty so the waitress was very attentive and offer great insight into the drink menu and made us aware that there was a happy hour for all classic, frozen, crafted cocktails, shots, beer etc... out of the 6 drinks we ordered(I.e. just keep swimming, berry gin buck, swim passion marg, piñata picante, and hibiscus tiger), I would come back for the berry gin buck, piñata picante and hibiscus tiger. The food was very delicious especially the mac and cheese and loaded fries... we order the quesabrirria and medium rare mushroom Boursin burger and they were cooked very well. Overall, very highly recommend the spot for date night and outings... fyi, if you do get cold, feel free to bring sweater in case the venue has the open door during the winter. read more
