John and Katie are a dream to work with. I have worked with many realtors over the years, and can truly say that John provides a singular and exceptional experience for his clients. By far the best I've known from finding my clients a home, managing negotiations, to seeing the transaction through. read more

I have known the Griswold family for over 2 decades, and have used them for various real estate resources throughout the years. Bob is an exceptionally knowledgeable asset to the team, John puts his clients first, and Katie makes sure everything in the background is running as smoothly as possible. The entire team is top notch and their service is unmatched. I don't live in the San Diego area anymore, but if anyone I know is looking in the area I immediately refer them to the Griswold Group. And you better believe that if we ever come back to the area John will be the first person I call to find our family the perfect place to call home. read more

John, Katie, and the whole Griswold family are amazing to work with. We will be working with them in San Diego for as long as we want to buy homes here. Thank you for your attention to detail in the home buying process. We were first time home buyers and they made it feel like we'd done this before. There's so much to say about how they treat their clients - from the way they give honest opinions about the home you are looking at to the responsive text messages through out the process to keep you on the ball. Not to mention they check on how you are doing every so often even after the home buying process! I can't imagine every realator group does this - it's a great value of the Griswold family. It's what separates them from the pack. We will cherish our time with the Griswold's and we hope you will too. read more

Had to update my Post. I've used them for a Probate sale in 2018 and now a regular sale in 2023. Both with VA Loans. Very professional and on top of it. Having the 3 family members work together is great because they all work to meet your needs. If your 1 / primary is busy the other 2 are usually available to help. I highly recommend them read more

My family and I wanted to move to Carlsbad from Orange County for a long time, but we just didn't know when we could make it work. On a fateful weekend of Open House visits in 2016, we met John and Katie Griswold. They were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the market, and they understood that it might take several years (!) before we were ready to purchase another home -- it had to be the right house at the right time. We talked about what we were looking for in our "forever home," and we stayed in touch via email. They sent us focused updates on the local market each quarter -- only what we needed, and never with any pressure to rush into anything. Five years later we found ourselves in the middle of strange times and we were determined to make our dream move happen -- it was now or never. We reached out to John and Katie over Zoom and quickly caught up like old friends. Soon we were talking about exactly what we were looking for and strategizing how to make the strongest offer we could in a skyrocketing market. With the help of Bob Griswold, we saw a number of homes over the next few months, but nothing felt right until we visited the one house that answered everything on our wish list. We put our heads together and our initial offer was accepted! Then the hard work began ... John, Katie, and Bob kept in constant communication with us, answering every question, and leaving no stone unturned as we moved towards closing escrow. Despite every challenge presented in the middle of a pandemic, they made our dreams come true. read more

I had a really terrific experience with the Griswold Group. Their platform for making sure that I was able to stay on top of new listings in a hot market was very effective and easy to use. They were super responsive to many short-notice requests to see properties. They were strategic on our offers. They were very hands on. I can't say enough good things about John, Katie and Bob. read more

I had the opportunity to work with John on my rental property. The whole team was fantastic and really has a great understanding of the market, pricing and what can really move the needle when showing your property. When John worked with me, we discussed pricing and through his strong negotiation skills he was able to get me WELL above my asking price. I would 100% recommend them and their years of expertise. read more

I have worked with the Griswold's for several years. From the very start even when I wasn't preapproved yet but just asking about the buying process Katie was extremely helpful in guiding me through and setting my expectations based on the market at that time. The family aspect of this group sets them apart and with each of their specialties. It's the Griswold family operation (not vacation)! I can't recommend this group enough, if you're even considering buying or selling go with the Griswold's! read more

The Griswold's were patient, positive and incredibly helpful! My husband and I house hunted for 3 years, and had previous realtors. Their support and expertise transformed the experience for us and ended with the purchase of our first home! read more

Being a first time home buyer, I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for in a place and thought the whole thing would be an overwhelming ordeal. However, Katie was very knowledgeable, patient, and eager to help me search out what would be my first home that fit all my needs while staying within my budget... Something that I thought would be impossible in San Diego. And thanks to John, there were no hitches on the back-end as he helped me navigate through the entire process efficiently and painlessly while maintaining invaluable transparency. Thanks to the Griswold group, I now have a place to call my own and I would not hesitate to use them again! read more

We worked with John, Katie and Bob for both buying and selling a house. We loved working with them! We went to an open house on a whim and decided to jump on an offer on a great house. We called Katie and she went right to work to help us build the right offer, which we submitted at 11pm that night! Once we were in escrow, John was our go-to guy for all of the details and made everything so easy. Then we decided to sell our condo and the team helped us get a full price offer in less than a week! During what is usually a super stressful process we powered through it seamlessly with this great team. We look forward to having them over for pie once we finish unpacking!! read more

Having known Bob for the better part of fifty years, we were certain that he was the person we needed in selling and buying a home. It turns out that we couldn't be happier with the result. With the added advantage of John and Katie's help, the process was extremely smooth despite the gyrations of a robust real estate market. We experienced multiple confused buyers and a seller who cancelled after accepting an offer. Through it all, Bob's team remained hopeful and encouraging all the way to a joyful conclusion. We found the home of our dreams and feel blessed to have had Bob's team to help. read more

I worked with the Griswolds for my first home purchase, and I cannot recommend them enough. They were knowledgeable about the housing market and prompt in responding to questions/requests/concerns throughout the entire process. And most importantly, I never felt pressured to buy. They made an otherwise stressful process very streamlined and carefully explained each step in the process as we went. I never worried about not being able to get a hold of them; both John and Katie were attentive and quick to respond to calls, texts, or emails, and I never had to hunt them down for paperwork, it was always promptly prepared for me to sign. They are a joy to work with and it's clear that they enjoy working together to help people find a place that's right for them. read more

I just bought a house with John and Katie representing me. They made it so easy and painless. They showed me all the houses I was interested in right away. Their communication is great and there was never a time I couldn't reach one or both of them. I highly recommend them to anyone. In fact when we sell our other house we are 100% using them again. read more

"Our home buying started with open houses. We met several agents during this process but John & Katie really impressed us. They were knowledgeable about the community and didn't try to sell us. Family is important to us so we loved the idea of working with a brother-sister team. The home we bought could end up as the home we retire in, and so we wanted to take our time. John and Katie let us go at our pace and supported us through the whole process. We found several homes that were close but not perfect. John and Katie stayed with us until we found one that was perfect for us. John and Katie supported us from the initial offer all the way to closing. We never got passed off to an assistant. They always had first-hand knowledge of where we were in the escrow process and were always a step ahead. If we had to start all over tomorrow, we would go with John & Katie." read more

"As a first-time home buyer, I was completely clueless coming into the overwhelming world of real estate. John and Katie worked tirelessly to explain the process, and were very supportive throughout my seven-month house search. They were responsive, meticulous, and accommodating- especially because I had them driving down from North County to help me search the greater North Park/University Heights, Hillcrest area. Talk about dedication! Finding the perfect place to fill all my needs felt hopeless and unattainable at times, but John and Katie were a source of constant reassurance. My interests were always protected, and my concerns were quickly tended to. Their patience and support is immeasurable. When I finally went into escrow, John and Katie were two steps ahead to keep me on track and make the process as smooth and painless as possible. I am in love with my new home! I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I can't recommend this brother-sister duo highly enough!!" read more

We met John and Katie at an open house in Solana Beach. We met a handful of other realtors while browsing the housing market but John and Katie really clicked for us because of their Solana Beach market expertise, how attentive they were in understanding our wish list and needs and how easily they worked together. As first-time home buyers, we wanted an agent who would fully engage with us in the home search process & were willing to educate us on the many facets of home buying. John and Katie were able to find us a great condo, perfect for entertaining our friends and family. They were even able to negotiate an early move in, to avoid an unsafe living situation due to flooding in our past rental. Home buying is never without its emotional ups and downs, but John and Katie stayed confident and solution-oriented. We are overjoyed with our new home and would recommend them to anyone looking for a home in North County read more

Katie and John are an excellent real estate team and I highly recommend them to anyone who is buying or selling a home! They were extremely responsive and very understanding of my work schedule, often communicating with me in the evening since I was unavailable during the day. They worked hard and did a phenomenal job managing the process so that it was smooth for both sides. Plus, they did a great job working with our specific criteria to find the perfect home for my husband and I. My wife and I asked John and Katie to help us buy a property in San Diego and we couldn't have asked for better agents. While they specialize in North County San Diego properties, and their knowledge of where we were looking (Point Loma, Pacific Beach, or Imperial Beach) was limited at first, they quickly learned what we wanted and where to find it. Once we found a property we liked they were very flexible with catering to our needs for showing times. They responded quickly to our calls and questions throughout the entire process. Our buying process was also out of the ordinary because I am a military service member and we were using a VA loan. We had to have the Home Owners Association approved for the condo that we wanted to buy in order for the VA loan to be accepted. The process was complicated and sometimes uncertain, but John and Katie made it as easy and painless as possible for us. We also wanted to close early and they worked very hard to make it possible for everything to work out by the deadline we desired. If you are wanting knowledgable, friendly, and dedicated agents who will work with all of your needs, look no further than John and Katie. read more
