Both of the trainers I had during the various classes that I tried out were great! If you are new to this gym, you may find it a bit overwhelming that the instructors don't always make a point of showing you proper technique for a movement. There are a lot of different ex cerise's that they use at this gym. If you put your hand up or call the instructor over, they will gladly show you what's up and how to do the movements. If you attend a class on the weekends be prepared for it to be packed! I went on a Sunday and found the stretching session to be pretty uncomfortable because there was what seemed to be about 20 people in there. They sometimes have you do a bunch of sit-ups and other ground exercises on their standard rubber floor and it is a bit uncomfortable on the back and the spine. I definitely wish they had a different kind of flooring or that they put out the square foam mats on days where we had to do a lot of floor work.

I was so excited to attend a Bonza Bodies class after reading all of the positive reviews online…read more.. It did not disappoint. Before my regularly scheduled ClassPass reservation I attended a 1:1 session with Jamie. The amount of things Jamie taught me in the session was unreal... My right shoulder is slightly lower than my left, I'm shaky doing lunges on my left side, I experience wrist pain, etc. Without a pause he immediately knew why and helped me understand. Within minutes he had solutions to help me improve these oh so slight abnormalities. Jamie and the studio environment are very welcoming and comforting. It's evident from the get-go that Jamie and the instructors are personable, positive, and very educated/knowledgable on the fitness technique/program/human anatomy. Although different from what I am used to, the exercise technique at Bonza Bodies is very effective. Not only that, but you can sense a strong familial/cultural atmosphere, which is something that is very unique and special. Needless to say, I'm excited to return for more classes. Thank you, Jamie & team!

I've also been fortunate enough to try a few of the classes offered downtown, and WOW. Every trainer has recognized me as a new face, introduced themselves, asked me about injuries, and has been great teachers, helping you with form and motivating you without putting you down when you just can't do that last rep.. They provide alternatives for your injuries without taking the power away from the exercise. I did a 2.0 challenge and after 4 months, I lost +10 lbs and 2 dress sizes. Not only the physical transformation, but the mental transformation has made me a Bonza Believer! This is the first time in my life that I've been excited to workout, eat right, and take care of myself. I did (or am doing) all the hard work but I give huge amounts of the motivational credit to Bonza! Jamie Atlas and his team are amazing!!

I told him it is quite expensive and I wasn't sure how long I could commint doing this due to financial reasons. He asked me how much I can do today and I put a $100 downpayment without signing any contract. We talked about a schedule for the sessions momentarily. I left feeling regretful and slept on it. I wrote him the next day that I don't want to purse things because the program was truly out or my budget. It is my first time inquiring about a personal trainer and I truly didn't know what to expect at all price wise. I felt a lot of pressure during my consultation and felt as I couldn't say no in a way. The consultation was very transactional and more of a sales pitch techinique. Nonetheless after telling Oberto I don't want to pursue the program and inquired about refunding the downpayment I gave him, he told me no refunds and offered that i can do a session instead and that is all. I told him that would be a uncomfortable and a waste of the both of our time. That is not right to take someones money as I refused to go with his program and told him it wasn't going to work out for me. Hard lesson learned for me as I basically gave him $100 for no reason. This has left an awful taste in my mouth and if i ever did want to seek personal trianing services in the future when I have the funds to do so it would definently not be with Oberto. For anyone inquiring please proceed with caution, this is probably exactly how he makes 90% of his money and it is extremley predatory behavior.

I HATE WORKING OUT. Wait, let me correct that. I used to hate working out. I have to get myself out…read moreof bed early, get on workout clothes (and mine aren't the cute Lululemon type I'm excited to put on), walk or drive myself to god knows where, and then try not to let the boredom or pain or lack of oxygen make me go home (or kill me). But ever since I joined Orange Theory (and switched to Uptown)... I find working out... tolerable ;) I'm not going to lie and say I love it. But I will say that I enjoy the formats of the workouts and I don't get bored. It's different every day and a good mix of treadmill (or strider/bike for my low-impact crew like me), rowing, and weight lifting -- and I know I'm improving both my strength and endurance and have noticed a difference over time. I've discovered that rowing is actually also tolerable (and it's the best workout that hits so many parts of your body) -- and it's honestly only become tolerable thanks to Pam, who finally taught me to do it right. I also really really like all the instructors and staff here and feel like they know me -- which helps a lot with motivation to be here. Let's just say as someone who used to hate going to the gym and rarely went, I come to Orange Theory about 5 days a week. As far as STUDIO LOCATIONS go: I've been going to Orange Theory for years now -- starting with the downtown location (LoDo / Union Station) -- and then here in Uptown when this location opened. I've also been to several different locations out of state when I travel to California for example (which is another great perk of Orange Theory: the ability to take classes at any location). That said, this is still HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE LOCATION (and I say that as someone who still walks here even after I've moved to Union Station and live literally 3 blocks from the downtown studio). Why? 1. More than anything, the staff/instructors. Yes, they change a lot at any studio. Pam has been a mainstay my entire time here, though, and she's this amazing little ball of energy and friendliness that I think really drives the trainers' approach here: getting to know members old and new, teaching/coaching everyone to always do better and perfect their form, being present with 110% energy for every class, etc. Its surprising how many studios DON'T have trainers like that. (Also a shout-out to Hayley and Devin here in Uptown -- and bring back Allison and DeeDee!) 2. The class schedule. There are tons of classes. Starting as early as 5am (which I don't even think of as daytime or an hour I'd be awake, unless I'm STILL awake, but to each their own). And ending at 8pm -- with like 10+ options in the middle. Conversely, I can't find a 60-minute class on a weekday downtown after 8am and before 3pm (skipping the rush hours of working out). They have a few 45-minute lunch classes, but seems like a waste of an expensive membership. Their morning and evening classes are always completely packed with 30+ people, so you'd think they'd add some during the day, even if the class would be smaller. NOPE! Which is why I love Uptown. The smaller group classes at 9 and 10am are the best if you can manage with your schedule! 3. The location/building/condition. Easy street parking, always clean, in a nice new building, free towel service for the shower, equipment in good condition, etc. And you'd be surprised this deserves a mention: large workout room with good air flow! Yeah, not always the case everywhere. A lot of studios are tiny or awkwardly shaped (weight stations in a different room for example), or in older buildings with crap circulation. I honesty have a hard time breathing sometimes in the downtown studio. (It's hardly their fault, but still makes working out less enjoyable there). Anyway, love this studio and love Orange Theory. You should join and say I referred you ;)
