About a year and a half ago, after having three children followed by nearly two years of pandemic…read moreliving, I knew that I needed to change up my fitness and nutrition habits. After many, many search sessions, I kept coming back to Body by Emilee and finally took the plunge to set up my initial consultation. And now, I'd probably describe myself as a superfan of Emilee's. From the get-go, Emilee was really approachable, kind, and very easy to work with. We started with nutrition sessions, and while I was definitely not eating the most healthy diet, I never felt bad talking about my habits. Emilee's approach is a "sure and steady" way of looking at things. Instead of something drastic we were able to look at my habits and make small, consistent changes over the course of the past year that has served me really well. Plus, nothing is off-limits. Emilee believes in creating a sustainable lifestyle of nutrition and exercise. And I'm more of a "moderation in everything" kinda gal, so I couldn't handle someone telling me there'd be no more, oh, I don't know, fried chicken or champagne or cake. From there, I was also able to add personal strength training with Emilee two days a week. While the sessions are never easy, Emilee is always very mindful about how hard we are working and adjusting my weights or my exercises to have maximum impact on my goals. And working out with her is honestly just a ton of fun. Beyond the excellent coaching aspect, Emilee has built a solid community of women around her, both the folks she coaches as well as just the people she knows in the world. She hosts regular events for everyone who trains with her that span a wide variety of topics, everything from a session on learning to add meditation into your routine to a spin class. Every time I attend one of the events, I marvel at how much I genuinely like everyone that is there. For me, a number on the scale wasn't (and isn't) my ultimate goal, but I have lost nearly 30 pounds over the past year, and a half (all the Covid weight and most of the baby weight), but best of all is how strong and healthy I feel. My body feels really good, and I feel really good about my habits these days. Finding Body by Emilee was like finding a light at the end of the tunnel, and my sessions with her have been such a bright light in each of my weeks.

Spending time to talk about tailwinds and how to make small changes created a lot of change quickly for me. She checks in with you and creates a holistic plan catered to your needs. I can't recommend her enough!  I will continue to leverage her further as coach in the future, as her method is aligned to what works for me!

I would like to report an unsafe and uncomfortable situation that occurred on 8/31…read more My close friend of 30 years has been attending the gym with me for several weeks. She is new to fitness, so we have been working out together as friends. Two men approached us on the gym floor and asked if I was a trainer. My friend was at the cable machine while I stood next to her with my laptop for work. They did not introduce themselves, so we did not know who they were or why they were questioning us. I clearly explained that she is my longtime friend, that we work out together, and that I am not a trainer or training her. I later learned the men were co-owners, Sam and Chris. Chris became extremely aggressive when he seemed dissatisfied with my answer. I made a flippant remark that he could see a photo of us as children because I was trying to convey that we have known each other for decades and she is not my client. Feeling threatened, I said, "This is a bit much, you guys." Chris responded, "You come into MY gym and say I am a bit much!" I was still unaware he was an owner and assumed he was a trainer. He then told Sam, "You deal with this!" and stormed away. Sam explained that they were co-owners. I understand gym policies regarding outside training and have no issue being asked about them. I repeatedly explained that I am not training anyone. However, once I answered, I should not have been verbally berated or aggressively confronted. I had been an RMFF member for over a year and a half; my partner was a member, and I have regularly recommended this gym. Until this incident, I had only positive experiences with the staff. I genuinely felt unsafe during my interaction with Chris and would not feel comfortable being around him again, as he verbally berates women in public. To make matters worse, after I emailed the gym that same day expressing my concerns, I received no apology or explanation - only a response stating that my membership had been terminated.
