Went here for an early Mothers Day lunch (5/9/26) with my family. Host started to take us toward the back of the restaurant so we asked if we could a table not far from the door as my mother has difficulty walking. She said no, there were no servers for that section. The host continued to take us toward the very back of the restaurant, ignoring our request and the obvious needs of a disabled guest. We requested to sit at a table halfway to the back, the hostess huffed, scurried back, slammed the menus and utensils on the table we requested and marched off. I really wonder how hard it could be to accommodate a guest and seat them at a table within short walking distance, but apparently it's too much for the host with the blond ponytail to manage. Next my parents are served stone cold coffee. The gracious waiter takes it away and returns with fresh brewed. Then we waited an unusual amount of time for our food (I didn't clock it, but it was 20-30 minutes). The food was good. The waiter was attentive. And the atmosphere pleasant. Overall it was a fair experience. I've been here before and I like the food I've had. But I feel the host should have been more accommodating to my mother's needs. We weren't asking for anything more than to have a table near the door so my mother didn't have to walk so far. And there's no need to be passive aggressive and slam the menus down in protest. I'd still recommend this restaurant but the service is only fair and the food takes a bit too long to come out. read more

We enjoyed our meals at Grizzlies. When you walk in you can see the spit roasted chicken spinning around. I love chicken cooked that way. I had a hard time deciding between their summer salad special and the roasted chicken rice bowl but opted for the bowl. Rice, corn, pico, black beans, avocado, and, of course, roasted chicken. It was a perfect meal that left me full but not miserable. Husband liked his tacos and especially liked that he could get a bowl of chicken wild rice soup as his side. Staff was great. Really disappointed AGAIN in the Willmar restaurant. This is the second time in a month that I have ordered several whole chickens to feed a crowd and they were completely undercooked. This time we ordered 3. We had to put 2 in the oven. We cut one because the kids were starving. But parts of it were completely inedible. If I wanted to cook, I would have cooked them myself to start with. I guess I will start picking them up from Cash Wise - cheaper and always good through!! read more

When we were being seated the seater tried to put me my wife and baby in his car seat in a crowded corner so I asked if we could sit somewhere else. She huffed very loudly and said ok. After we were seated their service was Very good and our server was very nice and helpful. The sirloin was very tuff and the old fashioned was not good. The buffalo wings were the best I've ever had and the mashed potatoes tasted like they were really mashed / real potatoes. The general environment is very welcoming and nice feeling. I love going to Grizzly's. Their chicken wild rice soup is served daily and is exquisite. The onion rings are perfect. Highlight is the big rotisserie with whole chickens - it smells incredible. We've always had great service. If it's right at noon or dinnertime - be prepared for a wait. It's popular. read more

Great atmosphere when you walk in, seeing the rotisserie with the chickens and the fire. Bit slow but hey, lunch time, to be expected and totally fine. I've eaten here a few times before. I will say that the onion rings are some really good ones, and good ones are hard to find. Cheese curds had a sort of fried grilled cheese thing going on, wasn't big on that but maybe if I had some tomato soup lol. Pulled pork sandwich Carolina style was a bit too sweet. It needed something to cut that; but it was still quality meat so not bad. The cheesy hashbrowns were excellent, would've ordered a lot more of those. Past times I've had the bear creek pasta which is either a hit or a miss depending on the day I feel. I've had the artichoke dip which is excellent. And I've had Chicken and such that was fairly impressive. Solid place to go to. If something is a miss, I'd encourage you to try again another time and get something different. Was good - but be prepared for the servers to decide what you want to eat because they don't listen to what you order. Waited more than what should be standard to order our drinks. Ordered food once we got our drinks and wanted a chicken avocado sandwich on a ciabatta bun - got the spicy chicken sandwich. Also ordered a steak - was quite good but came with tons of peppers. When we told the server we got the wrong order she responded with "oh I heard rotisserie chicken sandwich" that's not even the spicy chicken sandwich. Maybe if they would LISTEN to their customers or ask when they don't know 100%... wasn't even busy - Wednesday at 2 pm. We stopped in here on an overnight stay in Willmar. We looked at reviews and decided to give Grizzlys a try. We were glad we did - I was even looking the next day for another location!! Unfortunately there were none in the direction we were going. My husband had the fish tacos & said they were delicious. I had the hand breaded chicken tenders & they were yummy. I also got the onion rings and they were probably the best I have ever gotten. We also got the wings as an appetizer & they were very, very good. Portions were large. I would definitely recommend Grizzlys and would definitely stop if ever in Willmar again. read more

Went to the restaurant last night with a few people. My mom ordered the Salmon. It was spoiled. I tasted and almost threw up. We sent it back, and she was reluctant to have them make her a new one, but the manager said it was the last of the old stuff and they have new that just came it so she had reordered it. It took about 15 minutes to come out. The rest of us had completed our meal and waited for her to get her food and eat. I realize this can happen but it was an inconvenience. When the bill came, salmon and everything else was on the bill. Nothing compd. They should have removed the salmon at least. read more

Trying to help out our local restaurant during this pandemic shutdown. Ordered potato skins and a burger, well done. Arrived a few minutes before my order was to be ready. Burger was medium rare and the bottom of the bun was soaked with bloody juice, mushy. Skins were absolutely cold and stuck together in a lump. Being I arrived before the given pick up time, they should have been at least warm. Yucko! No going back until we can go into the dining room, if then. read more

I stopped into Grizzly's tonight thinking I would get a good steak and retire to my hotel early. I must say the best part of this experience was my server Manny. Great young man, tried really hard to make this dining experience good. After sending my Prime Rib back twice because it was over cooked and talking to the manager twice a received a piece of Prime Rib that was close but still over cooked. Oh forgot to mention that my side of Grizzly fries was sent back to the table after the Prime Rib was sent back to the kitchen. They were really cold after a twenty minute wait for the last Prime Rib. And to top the experience off there was no offer of a free desert or to comp the meal. We were greeted at the door by Chris, who I believe to be the general manager. He held the door for us, seated us, and made menu recommendations before introducing us to our server. The restaurant was wonderfully clean and pleasant, with comfortable low lighting, and a pleasant wood fireplace aroma. Our server was attentive and welcoming. She didn't miss a beat. So how was the food? It took a bit longer to receive than we anticipated, but that happens sometimes. My wife had a turkey sandwich, which she said was a little dry, but tasty. She thought her fries were overly salty. My BBQ bacon cheeseburger was delicious. Best ever? Maybe not, but definitely in the upper echelon. I did not find my fries to be overly salty, and I loved being able to augment the flavor with the cracked black pepper mill at the table. The food was tasty, but it came with steak-house pricing. While not unrealistically expensive for a quality meal, it did run more than typical chain restaurants or local bar & grills. Would I go back? Certainly. Would I recommend? Absolutely. read more

Grizzly's Grill is a decent restaurant in Willmar. I can't give the best review as I didn't order one of the wood fire entrees as I came in for a quick lunch. I went with a chicken wrap and fiesta salad. They were both ok but nothing to rave about and the flavor was a little bland in my opinion. My husband and I were out and about to go to a flea market. The flea market was a total bust, but we were both starving, and my husband wanted a "good burger." We did some yelp searching, some trip adviser search, and we came across Grizzlys. I have to say we were very pleased with the whole experience. My husband got the Brown Sugar bacon burger, and fries. He said it was literally the best burger he ever had, other than my french onion burger. I had the Bear creek pasta with Alfredo sauce. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. I ordered a bloody mary, that was not the greatest, but the food was to die for. Ben the waiter was just as amazing, he had a sense of humor and was welcoming. We give the whole experience a 9/10 only because of the bloody mary. We will be back. read more

After reading the mixed reviews regarding this location I decided to give it a chance and my wife and I went last night (night before Valentine's Day) Quick comment to some of the previous reviewers this place is meant for meat hence the wood grill, so neither of us got pasta or anything else of that sort since it's not a pasta restaurant. We started with a pound of wings mango habanero sauce and they were purely amazing. The wood grill gives them such an amazing smoke flavor and the sauce on them was just the perfect amount of heat and sweet. I ordered the steak and shrimp with fries. The steak was very well cooked and seasoned. The shrimp was delicious. The French fries are the typical frozen and fried restaurant fries. My wife ordered a half rack of ribs and 1/4 chicken with mashed potatoes and her only complaint was the potatoes were too hot (she didn't let them cool before diving in) I had one of her ribs and a few bites of the chicken and both were very good, I've had better ribs but only when I made them myself or was in a true BBQ restaurant. The chicken was very moist and delicious. For drinks we had various mixed drinks and a couple glasses of their house Merlot which wasn't anything spectacular, but still very good. The mixed drinks are extremely yummy. The service was great even while the restaurant was packed full our server was very fast at getting everything for us without us having to wait around wondering when she would come back. My wife and I stopped in on Friday evening. Admittedly it was busy. We asked the hostess for a reservation and she said it would be about a half hour. About 20 minutes later my wife asked again how much longer. She was told we were next. Another ten minutes passed and again we asked how much longer. The hostess said our table was ready but the kitchen was very busy and backed up so they weren't seating anyone. At no time did the hostesses offer an explanation or comments as to our wait. At no time did anyone explain to the crowded waiting area what was going on. Very disappointed in the experience. We left without being seated. My other major concern with this restaurant was in the handicapped parking area. There were tow spots, both occupied when we arrived; however there were six parking spots reserved for curbside delivery. It says to me, a handicapped driver, that they don't care about us. read more
