grocery outlet, or "gross out" as i know it, is amazing. this specific store in corvallis is no exception! this particular store happens to have a great selection of veggie/vegan foods in the cold section. soy cheese, tofu, tempeh, soy hummus, organic soy milk! SO MUCH VARIETY!!! the frozen section is also pretty great if you're vegetarian or vegan! organic frozen veggies, soy ice cream, veggie burgers--what more could you ask for? but to be burtally honest, i think the prices on the amy's frozen cuisine aren't any cheaper than anywhere else. overall, this store keeps it affordable when living your alternative food lifestyle. i'm also enthralled by the beer selction! so many beers! so cheap! you can go with the more than affordable "game day" beers (akin to pbr or naty ice) or live it up with some nice microbrews. the wine selection? meh. i'm realy picky about wine, and think even less of it if it comes with a screw top. compared to the gross out in albany, this one has a way better, bigger, and more varied selection of all different types of foods. the biggest catch about all gross outs is to CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATE. wonder why that dairy creamer is so cheap? it may be about to expire. also, don't buy produce here unless you plan to eat it within a few days. if you find something that you're super duper jazzed about, stock up. the next time you return, it may no longer be there! read more

we were in the store today at 9:40 am, we were buying some Treetop juice and some other items, the computer tried to charge a bottle deposit but there was no OR deposit on that item. The manager was called and he tried to correct the computer but couldn't. So he refused to sell us the product because it was going to take too long to fix the system. He was very rude and disrespectful. I hope Cassondra Wessels the owner wakes up to see she has managers that are not respectful to regular customers. it will be some time before i go back there. and i will be sure to tell our friends of the incident. read more

Terrible store, this store keeps turning over owners it's an entry level franchise that keeps getting owners with Great expectations of riches in the grocery industry but they don't realize how much work it is and only a mild return because of the discount nature of the products they sell. They don't hire reputable efficient employees so the turn over is high and the customers pay the price by having to deal with people that should never be in a service industry. "Would you like fries with that" would be a difficult task for them and mental midget control freaks hired as managers that think it's their domain to do whatever they want. Beware of best by dates on products, either they don't keep up with inventory tracking or they expect to profit off of it no matter how long it has to stay on the shelves. They have a deranged sense of scheduling. Closing early and stopping people from coming in 15 min to close so their employees can walk out at the top of the hour like their schedule says and being disrespectful to anyone who cares coming in in the last 1/2 hour of the day. Was falsely accused of taking a cart out to the parking lot when I hadn't even left the cashier station yet. Someone not checking my items out called the manager who also had poor communication skills. Checker Celia -- watch out for her and Manager Danielle. Manager did say she saw me at the register and that I hadn't done anything wrong and then I did take the cart to my car and left it there, of course. What a bunch of losers. As if taking a cart with items I paid for to the parking lot where all the carts gather is something wrong! Corvallis grocery outlet has a racism problem. I have asked them to just automatically give me my receipt for atleast 4 years,,, and they refuse. They just keep asking the same Dumb ass question when I have already explained that I know Black people are looked at as a thief first until I prove other wise at the cash register, so I definitely need a receipt at all times. My first visit today (8/2/19) was so much fun! Full of great groceries, produce, frozen foods, dairy, organic, natural and specialty foods. Today's score was Peet's Ground Coffee 12 bag for only $5.99 !!! I pretty sure that this fantastic coffee is selling for over $9 at most retailers in Corvallis. Instacart cart offers this for $10.25 / Target $9.39 / Walmart $9.24 and Amazon $8.98. Corvallis Grocery Outlet is conveniently located on 9th Street and has a huge parking lot; easy in / easy out. My shopping cart included breakfast cereal, tuna fish and a few snack items. The beer and wine section offers a wide selections and super low prices too. Sad day when there is no public restroom for active shoppers.... I just came in and had approximately $100 the Halloween candy that I wanted to purchase. I got struck with the need to use the restroom, and when I asked an associate to use the restroom, I was told that it was not open to the public. Back in this day, this grocery was called "canned foods." It's where you could get non-perishable foods, and while they might have had fresh fruits&veggies, you weren't there for that. They attracted the college crowd. If you were living on a budget, you could get cheap canned food, cheap books&toys, you name it. It also attracted sizable families. Now that "Canned Foods" has become Grocery Outlet, they've gone upscale, improved their merchandise, and significantly cleaned up the store. It's brighter, more colorful, with a superior selection. You can still get deals- but they're on fancier products, like organic foods from Natural Directions out of Tigard. They've improved over the years. Not as large as some, but much better than back in the 90s. Dream of the 90s is alive in Portland. read more

Canned Foods...I mean Grocery Outlet...has changed a LOT in recent years. It used to be great for finding deals on stuff you didn't even know existed or on items that are near the sell by date. Deals everywhere. Now, not so much. There are a few deals to be had, but in almost all cases, the prices are the same...maybe a penny or two less, and sometime MORE than!, other local groceries. I have to say the staff is awesome and I appreciate that. And I am able to find some items at GO that I can't find elsewhere in town. BUT, that said, the prices have gone up to the point that I only buy a small handful of items at GO now when in the past I used to buy carts full. I'm still kicking myself for buying a case or two of organic tomato paste only to find Trader Joe's had organic tomato paste for 20 cents LESS per can! Big oops on my part. read more

I have been shopping are grocery outlet for years and I'm very happy with your prices. Your customer service on the other hand has taken a turn for the worse. I have repeatedly had cashier's who are rude and even though other stores are bagging groceries again, your cashier's are not. I am an elderly woman and appreciate being treated with respect not with a sullen attitude. Please teach your cashiers some manners and what it is to serve a customer. Great store prices are very low on most items. For example 12 pack Pepsi 12 Oz cans grocery outlet $599 safeway $899 The also have good selection of organic and specialty foods for way less than the coop. Recently under new ownership and this has greatly improved the store. Only downside is they don't always have everything I need. So I go there first get what they have then if needed make a second stop. Even doing that you will save alot of money. read more

You never know what new items will arrive, and I love checking a few times a week for the awesome prices on high quality name brands. Was shocked by the horrible customer service I received today. He's a newer cashier, Chris. He's never been nice, but today he was beyond rude. He didn't say a single word the entire interaction. Just slammed my groceries around in the most aggressive hostile manner. I hope he can get the training he needs to do better, because there's plenty of stores to go to without such hostile treatment so I recommend going elsewhere! My favorite store to shop at. They don't have everything I need and it varies. I wish they had more tea. The wine selection is great at good prices. The worst Grocery Outlet in Oregon. Last week, I used my food stamps and when all the groceries were rung up, there was an outstanding nickle charge. I asked what it was for and he said it was a bag charge. I reminded him that there was no bag charge when food stamps were used and he made me pay it anyway. I had a nickle and decided it was not worth the fight so I paid it. Today, they refused to honor a $5.00 off coupon because I had not spent enough. I had an outrageously bad experience w/ a cashier at Grocery outlet, so I don't shop there. My family and I rode our bikes there. For lack of a better place to put out bikes, The fam. left their bikes by the bench by the front door. I was on bike watch duty when a cashier came out for a smoke break and proceeded to rudely and menacingly demand that I immediately remove all three bikes so she could sit on the bench by the door and have a cigarette. Grocery outlet can save you big money. Yes the store has a cheesy feel to it, and some of the long time checkers are quite the characters. Plus you'll always see a few customers who look like they've been through the ringer. Don't go expecting a full service supermarket because it's not. They buy odd lots so you never quite know what you'll find there. They have really high end brands right beside no-name brands that are no-name for a reason. Check the expiry date on anything you buy there and you can save typically 50% off regular supermarket prices. They will try to make you check your backpack, but I won't shop in a store that does that. I spoke to the manager because I don't like anyone treating me like a thief.. Generally OK. But discounts are sometimes exaggerated, like with the recent purchase of Sarks Coffees instead of the huge discounts claimed but the GO. Just a little bit lower than on the company's website. It's good to sometimes compare prices and see if the discounts are accurate; not always. read more
