I have been curious to check out this place since I drive by it so frequently. I got my chance today when having to wait for tire service across the street. I was pleasantly surprised there wasn't that horrible off-gassing smell at similar type places. However, they did have some kind of odd blinky holiday lights that made annoying noises throughout my visit. I toured each aisle and there wasn't anything to my liking but I can see where a new Asian restaurant could completing outfit their establishment with everything they need. It was nice to see they had real plants! I would consider returning for those or maybe some of their pots. Prices were okay, not great. I love how I discovered this store, I was in the neighborhood, after having lunch at House of Banh Mi. I wanted to see if there is a Kmart near the area so I did a Yelp search for Kmart, this Portland Closeout store popped up. After glancing at Yelp photos, the 20 % off Yelp check in caught my eye, and the funny t-shirts, the ones on their profile pic. I asked my personal Uber driver ( my other half) to take me. You will not miss this place, there is a huge business sign and parking is available on both sides of the lot. I don't know where to begin looking, the store is clutter but it is a good clutter. There are tons and tons of stuff. Its like a one stop shop, Things you need in Chinatown and the flea market combined together. I am pretty sure you will find something you don't need but actually need here. Just like my experience here. I had fun looking around, Lets see this shop is HUGE! There are sandals, shoes, clothing for mens, womens, children, tshirts, hats, make up, hair accessories, phone accessories, even blankets. If you can't find what you are looking for, ask the owner, she is super friendly. I recall her name is Long. I had fun talking to her and she helped me find what I was looking for. As I mentioned I found 2 items that I didn't need but needed. I saw 2 hats , I didn't think I needed it but bought it for my mom and good friend. ( they both love hats!) I came to shop not looking for hats and not needing it but then I am so glad I bought them because my mom and good friend loved the hats. I also bought those funny saying shirts to give away as souvenirs. They are pretty funny! I was able to use my 20 percent Yelp check in and I am so happy to discover a new place in Portland. I noticed the blankets are cheap, they are the really soft blankets which comes in different color, prints, and even comes with a bag. I remember those blankets, during my childhood days my mom used to buy that blanket for us and I remember they cost more than what Portland Closeout sells them for. I am going to buy a blanket next time I visit. After paying for my items, Long mentioned that her husband is at the store across. Note: Portland Closeout is in 2 separate shop. The store is in front where Long's husband manage has all household items for your kitchen, home and garden which includes furniture, plants, even paintings. This store does look clutter as well, but its a good clutter!! I noticed children's bicycles out in front. This store has EVERYTHING!! Overall, I love how I discovered this place and I enjoyed my shopping experience here. I will be back. Oh shit. I did not know until recently that there was a store like this in Portland that could kick your azn mom level up to at least an 8 or 9. This store is like pure downtown Chinatown in a bottle. The first time I went in there, I bought a fat, fluffy reversible azn blanket like all the azn moms have. Then my mom saw it, got jealous and wanted one so I had to drive her there so she could get one with pink peonies. Then she talked to the store owners in Cantonese who tsked about why I didn't speak Chinese. Again, this store is azn mom level 8 at LEAST. I'm talking about adorable cheap azn pyjamas, hilarious plastic stools and slippers you remember from childhood, indestructible melamine plates with bizarre messages that you will want to hoarde, herbs, hello kitty, lucky bamboo and lucky cats too! 3D wolves and slick, cheap dresses so you can rock that Chinatown or little Vietnam style if you have that desire. This place is a wayback machine in a lot of ways, but since I'm at that age where I kinda want to be reclaiming my azn mom/grandma memories, this place is a trip and a half and packed to the gills with crazy, awesome things you just might love. read more

All very low quality materials and average designed good. Was hoping to find nicer quality party decorations, interesting ceramic planters, china and other favorite imported goods. If you are looking for bamboo plants they did have a nice selection. Not sure what other Yelpers were looking for, but not my kinda place! Was put off by the warning signs everywhere! "You are on camera. $300 fine per item if shoplift! No opening packages!" You'd think they had people stealing right and left. read more

I moved here from NYC and had a hard time finding a Chinese/Asian altar. I went to Fubonn Plaza, among other places, and couldn't find it anywhere. I ended up asking my Chinese real estate agent, who told me I could find it in Vancouver. Then he talked to some more people, he told me I could find it here, and I did, in various designs, shapes, and sizes. The person who helped us was also courteous, spoke English pretty well, and helpful. read more
