I just would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Emma and Joshua, as well as a nice lady as a nice older lady who helped bag my groceries with me and my two year-old. This is my favorite grocery outlet in San Luis Obispo County and I always spend roughly $300. When I visit I have become rather choosy with my cashiers only because I have had experience where a middle-aged gentleman watched me pack $300 worth of groceries while he drank his soda after checking me out. I purchased my groceries at the Grocery Outlet in Paso Robles yesterday. I appreciate the reasonable prices. I usually have a pleasant experience with the cashiers. Not so great yesterday. The cashier seemed proud of herself as she told the people in front of me that she was boycotting the super bowl because of Bad Bunny's Puerto Rican background. I kept my opinion to myself. There's too much division in our country right now. I think cashiers should be trained to be cheerful and positive and not bring up divisive issues. I left feeling sad and angry. read more

A legitimate discount grocery store option. I've been to every San Diego location so this chain is where most of my grocery purchases are made. Grocery Outlet isn't a factory reject store like .99 city, rather this is a distribution warehouse liquidator. Pretty much every single Grocery Outlet sells the same stuff, but each regional erea might have a few items not found anywhere else. They do sell name brands here and several brands you've never heard of. While the deals aren't steals, they are good values on quality products. read more

I am a HUGE fan of the Grocery Outlet chain having gone too many in various cities. Living in Atascadero there was no need to go to the Paso Robles location. Was in the area of the Paso one, why not. SO glad I did. It was a fine choice. One word ... A-M-A-Z-I-N-G Found the store larger, more choices and variety. Each Outlet is independently owned and while they carry the basic and most same items this one felt like it had a little extra pizazz. Some items you may not find again there as it may have been excess and GO purchased for one time only. Read their message "From the business". Especially my favorite sections kitchenware and frozen seafood. My future Santa list is an air fryer. They had one there for $39.99 Found their prices even better on some items better than Wally World. I was in such a haze looking at their cookware and utensils thinking of future dinners of recipes that I have not made at home yet but tried at restaurants. Great selections and prices for gifts on their novelty items next to the beauty and health section. Not only do they have groceries they also have; supplements/vitamins, health and beauty, home/seasonal/outdoor decor, cleaning and kitchen supplies. You're going to find a random assortment of food here. Don't expect to find exactly what you are craving or need but instead just whatever they acquire from other markets as overstock. Prices are fair but not so low that you'd save much shopping here especially if you settle for an off brand or flavor of a product that is not that great. I went in for a sweet treat to serve for desert and ended up with an off brand ice cream in vanilla with graham cracker swirl, dried organic apricots, vanilla wafer cookies, and rice crispie treats. The store in Paso Robes is no longer practicing ANY covid-19 precautions. When I asked the cashier if she cared, she said "No". This virus is still very tenuous and shouldn't be completely ignored. Luckily, the other grocery chains are still attempting to make their customers feel safe in these unprecedented times. The saddest part is that many of their customers are of lower income status. I spent $77.50 on groceries here on Sunday, and felt I found good quality food items at great prices. I got $40 cash back and declined a receipt. Tonight I checked my bank account and see they took $147.50 from my account. So someone pocketed an additional $30. No receipt, so can't prove it, but the cashier was young, female, straight dark hair at the register closest to the front door between 4 and 5 pm. read more

My family loves TGO! We usually make it a Sunday tradition after church in Atascadero, so we were beyond thrilled when the Paso location opened recently. The prices are good on most things, but I've noticed that they've been inching up since the grand opening. (Snapea Crisps went from 99cents to 2 for 3.) As long as you check your expiration dates, you're good to go. We love the organic blueberries (3lbs for $7.00!) and the organic green beans and broccoli (2lbs for $4.00!) They have a nice craft beer section, too. The reason why I had to knock this place 2 stars is the customer service. Two times that I've been there it's been less than stellar. Once, I had a cart full of groceries on the conveyer belt while two employees switched shifts and counted out their money right there on the spot. No "just a second, ma'am-we'll be right with you," or any acknowledgement. This went on for about three minutes. Once they sorted it out, I greeted the cashier since she didn't. Then she proceeds to tell me how awful her day had been and how she couldn't wait to get off of work. 2 days later I ran in for two half gallons of ice cream. SAME THING!! They switched shifts or registers in front of me with no acknowledgement and then continue to converse amongst themselves for a few minutes. Next, he rings me up and I ask to purchase a bag. I run my card and sign the receipt and he pushes the ice cream toward me, lazily hands me the receipt, tosses (yes, tosses) me a bag and says "annnnnd here's your bag." Just like that with eye contact and all. This is definitely not the service I've come to love and expect from TGO. I hope they step it up when it comes to their employees, or we may be back to the Atascadero store, even though this one is much more convenient. read more

This is a super clean store with a very friendly and helpful staff. I usually go on a Sunday morning and it is stocked and not crowded. Plenty of room in the aisles. There is a variety in the NOSH section where it's fun to try the different foods. Because it is an outlet, they don't always have the delicious gluten free pancake mix I once found but that's ok since I like that new products come in all the time. read more

I really like Grocery Outlet. They have some great bargains, and I have shopped at their stores in several cities. Great prices and selections on wine, beer, fancy cheeses, and snacks. I like that they offer organic dairy, fruits and veggies. I am a GO fan, but I do have to say that the customer service at the Paso location, is really bad. I have had many experiences where they do not greet or acknowledge you at the checkout. Not a huge deal, that I have to greet them first, but what really bugs me, is that they do not like to bag your groceries. I usually bring my own bags, but have purchased their bags to see if it made a difference. It does not! Either way, they will sit and stare at you, and when it becomes uncomfortable, they start throwing, yes throwing, your items into the bags. It makes me angry that they feel they don't have to provide this service, that it is beneath them to bag the items you purchase from their establishment. And then when they do end up bagging, they ruin the bread and produce you bought. I now dread my shopping trips to GO. read more
