This lady today (wish I had her name), walks up to me and tells me I can't check out here - I had more than 10. I'm not from WA, so maybe they're strict as heck here. 1) No one was behind me. 2) I'm a lot faster at self checkout than the register workers. 3) I'm allowed to SELF checkout if I want. I don't want to talk to people. She points a finger at me to leave and says "I don't care you have to leave". We are both adults and this is a grocery store, it's NOT that serious, I promise you. It's almost a laughable interaction. I was just so shocked because I've never shopped somewhere where the workers care so much to hound the customers about what's in their cart. You're not even the one doing the work!

I shop at this store all the time, or I used to. I went in today to return some pop cans I got at their store, and they would not allow me because I didn't have Oregon ID. I live in Longview, just over the river. I told the owner the cans have an Oregon return stamp on them and Wash cans don't. And I got them from you. He said no ID, no return. I told him I would stop shopping here if he did this. It's a matter of customer service, not the $3 in pop cans return. He said he didn't care. In today's internet shopping and retail, losing many customers surprised me that a little mom-and-pop store owner would be like this, but I can't help stupid and just stop spending my money at that place. read more

It has a gas station outside, of course. It's exactly what you'd expect, all hours of the day. No issues there. Same lower than average prices. I've got no problems with their gas. But, if you pay with cash, beware of the inside. Unfortunately, I've come here semi-regularly for the last few years. I'd still come at least a couple times a year, before I moved to living closer to it in 2020. I can confidently say, I've never seen this location hire a good cashier. Most don't enjoy their job. Or they'll do a bad job, amongst all other critiques people have for employees. I once witnessed a very personal argument between two employees, because they were yelling at each other as loud as they possibly could. It's really a night and day difference from the Kelso location, which holds their employees better and hires better ones too. It's got a terrible ambiance because of that, and because of the customers who roll in. You're gonna see the usual odd customers of Longview, to put it kindly. It's also just a dirtier feeling store overall, especially when compared to Kelso. However I will say, they seem to keep their stocking situation in a good place. You may not find hot food, which is unfortunately generally the case with most ampm's the past few years, but otherwise this should have what you expect from ampm. Here's a way to describe it: if they had a good cashier, then it'd probably be a pretty good location. You see odd people all around town, so that's not make or break for me. I've unfortunately never managed to purchase any hot food at this establishment, they're always out. If it's anything like other ampm's, it's pretty tasty, affordable and very hot. Is there anything else to say? I guess I could include that I overall love "ampm" and will have no problem stopping by here. The employees being bad aren't exactly an uncommon thing in town. Overall, this establishment is a bit more suspect than you'd expect considering its location. It keeps things in stock, has a good gas station, and shouldn't be too deterring to locals. Visitors might be a different story, because employees can't be kept, and aren't good enough to necessarily be sad about that. Now for a week or two, I believe, there's only been a one-star review that's very depressing. I'm so sorry. Firstly, the convenience store is large with a great selection. Along with great deals on beverages and always being up to date. Secondly, the service is incredible. I swear every cashier I've interacted with provides fast and friendly service. They really seem to enjoy their jobs! Thirdly, back to the convenience store. They have a homemade fudge...um, it's in a smaller clear thing similar to the hot food. It's just so close to the hot food, but I had NEVER gotten the fudge. I think it's great, and $4 a square isn't bad. My grandma loved it, and she's the biggest fudge fan you'll ever meet. As far as gas prices, I think they're in the middle. Not the most expensive or least expensive. Which isn't bad at all. I think both the gas station and convenience store are fairly clean. Maybe some renovations on the convenience store would help, but not necessary. Also, this place never seems to be busy. You'd think with the car wash, they'd be slammed. But no, that car wash seems to go unused and is underrated. Overall, I think this is a prime example of a great gas station. Normal sized gas pump area, big convenience store fully stocked with the latest things and deals on them, and even homemade fudge. I know I can come here and be satisfied. (Now even more so, because I love the Sinclair branding.)
