I appreciate integrity and I got it here. I had my machine in for service and the feed dogs were not great. It's an expensive fix, but much cheaper than buying a new machine. It is only worth fixing on my machine if the rest of the machine is in decent shape. Victor checked it out and found it is worth fixing. But before going to that expense he did all he could to give them a bit more life. I'm sure I will have them replaced relatively soon. He could have encouraged me to buy a new machine instead, which would have benefited the store and cost me much more. He didn't do that. I so appreciate his honesty. read more

In December 2024 I purchased a very expensive Embroidery and Sewing Machine (about $8,000.00) from this store. At the time of purchase I was given excellent service. I later returned to the store to purchase fabric and other items. July 29, 2025 I purchased some items including a ruler that cost $42.50 + tax. When I got home I realized I already had the ruler and about 1 week later tried to return it in it's UNOPENED package (I live in the hills so it is about a 30 minute drive to the store so I didn't immediately try to return the item). I was told they do not give cash refunds, only store credit because, quote "some people abused the return policy". This is a violation of Washington State Law but they don't care. I took the following information from Washington's Consumer Protection Agency's site: 1. Disclose the return policy: Retailers must clearly communicate their return policy to customers before they make a purchase. This can be done through signs in the store, information on the receipt, or on the retailer's website. 2. How many days does a customer have to return a product under Washington's consumer protection regulations? Under Washington's consumer protection regulations, a customer has seven business days to return a product for any reason. 9. Minimum Return Policy Disclosures - Retailers must clearly display their store's minimum return policy -- whether it is no refund at all or store credit only -- on all signs and receipts. I have decided to keep the ruler and never do business with them again. Nowhere is it posted in their store about the return policy, it is attached to the receipt which you get AFTER you have paid for the product making it non-returnable. Of course, I doubt that they care if I come back because they already got the big money from me. read more

I purchased a Brother sewing machine from Longview Sewing 5 years ago. I was sewing at home and my machine would not sew. I could not turn the hand wheel on the side of the machine. I took my machine to Longview Sewing expecting to drop it off and not have it for several weeks. Two staff members greeted me and when I told them what was happening, they quickly opened up the top of the machine to find a rat's nest of thread matted around the tension devices. They explained that I had been threading my machine wrong, and within 5 minutes had the mess removed. I asked what the repair cost was--NOTHING. I walked out with my machine working correctly. I cannot believe I have not left this store a review! I LOVE this store. It is definitely my "go-to" store during the summer months when we are in the Longview area. If you are in the market for any type of sewing machine, they have it. If you need supplies, they have it. If you want Accuquilt, they have it. In other words, they have just about everything in this line. The fabrics they have are beautiful and they are beautifully displayed. Then, there are the employees ... they are so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Obviously, I have nothing but good things to say about this store. I'm so glad it is here. read more

I bought a new sewing machine here after receiving excellent customer service. I was shown how multiple machines work, given demonstrations and had every question answered. After buying the machine they offered a free class to teach me how to use it. The class was fun and instructive. I appreciate their service options for my machine which gives me piece of mind for the life of the machine. They have good quality fabric and thread. The only thing I wish they offered is pop culture related fabric designs. I'm really happy we have this resource in our community. read more

I just discovered the place and was delighted to see the large selection of machines, accessories and fabrics. However, I was very disappointed to see the total disregard for others. All employees with no masks and as I browsed with my mask on I started to get a sense of disapproval. Never-mind the Governor, what about courtesy and care for others. Don't put your health at risk. This store does not follow Caronavirus requirements for operating a business in Washington state. The employee on duty did not wear a mask. The customers were not required to wear masks and did not do so. There were several in the store without masks. The employee even hugged one of them. The credit card machine required a finger signature and no hand sanitizer was provided. It's so sad that people have such disregard for others and the community in general. Took 2 machines here to be cleaned and adjusted. The repair man, can't remember his name, was wonderful. He did a great job, let me know what couldn't be repaired and repaired what could. Machine works much better, even though he wasn't able to fix some of the issues due to moisture causing rust. He spent the time cleaning and adjusting it anyway and made it usable. The other machine is back to perfect. The fabric is amazing. I drove an hour and a half to purchase fabric from them rather than closer to home. No comparison as to quality. I am far from a real seamstress but I do love to sew. I have been here several times and plan to many more. Everyone was very nice and didn't treat me like I was beneath them because I wasn't a "real" seamstress. Plan on spending some time because they have so many patterns to choose from. Husband was immediately drawn to the cutlery when we stepped inside. I went left, he went right. Gave me more time to shop fabrics too so it was a win win! read more

I Have visited and shopped at Longview Sewing several times since my husband and I moved back to this area a few years ago. The ladies who work there are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. However, when I took two of my Bernina sewing machines in for servicing and repairs, the quality of work was disappointing. The machines didn't appear to be adequately cleaned, and additional items were broken. I was apprehensive to take my machines back to the shop. I made the decision to take them to another Bernina authorized technician. He fixed the issues, and they are now both running great. I did email the owner of Longview Sewing to let him know about my experiences with both of my machines, and his response was disappointing. As a person who worked with people in the healthcare setting for many years, customer service was always my first priority, and if a customer wasn't happy, I made it right. The owner of Longview Sewing doesn't appear to have that same philosophy. For sewing machine repair and servicing, save yourself some time and money, and take your sewing machines elsewhere for servicing and repairs. read more

I'm new to the area and needed my sewing machine serviced. So glad I brought it here. Nothing serious, but really needed an internal cleaning, packed with lint. Labor cost was very reasonable. Delighted to find gourmet kitchen utensils here. When we moved we left much behind and now I have a place to go to replace my hard to find gadgets that did not make the move. read more

The selection on sewing machines is awesome and they stand by what they sell with a 3 year warranty! And in store factory authorized repair. I am an international customer. This company does not ship internationally and that's fine. I have a friend in the US they can send the item I'm interested in to and that friend can send it to me. I contacted them (the owner I believe) and for some reason he was worried that I was trying to scam him. No idea why. Anyway I suggested that I am willing to follow all his instructions to the letter in order to buy the item that I want. Due to the time difference this meant I stayed up until 1 - 2am. I made long distance calls. And I agreed to follow all the steps B wanted me to follow. However THEIR website doesn't work. I get no delivery options and therefore I cannot continue to the next step to actually purchase the item. I have contacted B SEVERAL times over the past month, including emails that contain pictures and even a video showcasing the issue but I am being 100% ignored. These people do not care about customers. They do not care about helping me out. They do not care about selling me this item. Now if I could go somewhere else to buy it I HAPPILY would. Unfortunately I can't. I would give a 0 rating if I could. Is this how Americans run their business? Assuming foreigners are scammers by default and not giving a damn about someone who is trying to follow the rules set out by THEM and having difficulties with THEIR website because it doesn't work? I JUST WANT THE DAMN ITEM!! YOU'RE A SHOP! YOU'RE SELLING AN ITEM! I WANT TO PURCHASE SAID ITEM! I'M 100% WILLING AND READY TO PAY FOR THE ITEM! HOW DIFFICULT CAN THIS BE?! ZERO STARS! I went with a friend to check out a fabric cutting machine for making quilts. I was shown several and shown how they work and let me operate it myself. I came home with the one I liked best and could hardly come out of my sewing room for days. I love it and can't wait to buy more dies for it. I made about 20 block the next day. Thank you. My husband and I made the drive this morning to Longview Sewing on the recommendation of a friend of mine. I knew the machine I wanted, wanted to give a mom-and-pop my business, and the only store I knew of with the machine I wanted was Montevilla Sewing in Portland (if you have an Oregon ID, purchases at Longview Sewing are tax-exempt!), which is a large business. The mom-and-pop I knew of didn't carry this line. Big bummer! Finding the store was hard at first, since there is no name sign, just an hanging sign over the door with an outline of an old sewing machine. As soon as you park, you can tell it's a clean, well-laid out shop. We didn't need to get in the doors to see that! Unfortunately the machine I wanted wasn't in stock, though I had been told yesterday that it was. My heart sank. Since my machine kicked the bucket thoroughly last night, I really had to get a new machine today to finish up a gown that's needed Friday, and I really didn't want a machine I didn't have time to thoroughly research. Brad offered to do one of two things, either which would be a great thing: I could take the next model up's barely-used floor model (Baby Lock machines have stitch-counters, and I do more sewing in a couple hours than that machine had on it) for the price of the machine I wanted, or I could take that one as a loan, and he'd personally deliver the one I want when it gets in stock. I really had my heart set on the particular machine, really didn't want to deal with the pen and wouldn't use the laser, so opted for B, and he'll be delivering the machine I want. Price-wise, he could meet Montevilla's price ($200 less with a sale they have going on), which would come with their warranty, or for the $200 more, which still has this machine $1,500 less than Montevilla and every other store I called in this state and the neighboring state, it would come with not only an extra couple years on the warranty, but all servicing. It's equivalent to the optional Gold Package from Baby Lock, but not for $699. SOLD. Dropping $3,500 really wasn't in my budget at the moment, though is a necessary business expense, and now that I'm home, I feel very good about it. While waiting for my husband to get back from taking our munchkin to get something to nom on, Brad and I sat there shooting the breeze, and I was impressed he knew the sordid history of Singer (it has impacted federal trading laws, and the former head of Singer has been in prison since the 80's), and what's gone in with Viking and Pfaff as part of it. Almost no one I know has any clue about that stuff. So color me shocked and pleased to find someone who actually studies up on that stuff. It makes a massive difference in terms of product quality. That Singer from the 70's or that Viking you loved from 15 years ago aren't made by the same companies anymore. The names have been sold. So if you want someone knowledgable about more than just how to thread machines, Brad's your go-to guy. By the time you leave, you feel like you've made a new friend. And what's sweet is he pays attention to people, and very clearly remembered that friend of mine who hasn't been able to make it in in a couple years. There is a connected fabric store, and it's gorgeous. Rather than having fabric draped over the tops of bolts, which never looks neat, no matter how much other stores may try, the bolts are folded so you can see the prints clearly, and they're wrapped around the bolts and tied up with gold cord. Wonderful presentation, and makes the fabrics look like a gift ready to be presented to you. It's all cottons, very high quality, very beautiful. I've never seen such a concentration of fabrics that I wanted. $11.99 was the price per yard on all the ones I looked at, which is phenomenal for the quality. It makes JoAnn's quilting cottons look...well, I don't think the censors on Yelp would allow those words. Truly, this store would be worth an even farther drive than I made. This store. I've always liked this store. Its clean and well organized. They moved to a new location awhile back. I finally got around to finding them in their new place. Its in an old storefront that's been well renovated. The floorspace is huge. The employees are very nice and quite knowledgeable. They have tons more fabric and sewing machines in the new location. The fabric selection is excellent. read more
