This used to be a Staples. Then it shut down, and Grocery Outlet, which was located somewhere else, moved over to occupy this building. The parking lot is a little messy for getting in and out of, but it is what it is. Store's interior is pretty large. There is plenty of space between aisles and they offer a wide range of items: food, drinks, candy, produce, hair care, oral care, etc. I find this one to be a little disorganized at times, but it does offer many items at unbelievably low prices. Hard to say "no" to that. Workers are reasonably helpful, making for a pleasant experience here. read more

Cheerful staff and a fun selection of healthy food make this store my favorite. Ah, yes, the beer and wine selection is expansive and fun too. The shopping experience is so much better than the cheap sounding commercials (and the big ugly sign with the ugly name - grocery outlet, eek, really? ) Anyhow, it's a great store with great staff! read more

This is the first time I've ever been into a Grocery Outlet Store. Before I always thought it was one of those bargain basement stores that sold near expiration date foods or like the Canned food Store used to be. But this store is more modern and not basically a second hand food store, stuff that nobody else wanted. They have produce here as well as meats and a big frozen food section. I'm checking out the grocery options here in Red Bluff and wanted to see if there was anything else in town besides Walmart and Raley's. Walmart is sort of OK, but is too crowded at times and parking sucks unless you have a handicap placard. This Grocery Outlet is better than I thought, but thinking Whole Foods would be here in Red Bluff would be wishful thinking. I'll stop in here again on occasion, not that I'm a big grocery shopper, as I'm away from home a lot. read more

I liked this grocery outlet and had a good review just about a month ago. But I guess I was wrong. This is for the owners or management, you have two restrooms and one is down, why shut down the other to employees only? I shop at raley's, save more, Safeway, and Walmart...all of which have restrooms open to the customers. Families with children may need a bathroom break from time to time, especially if your shopping for groceries. Don't you want your customers to take their time while shopping? To top it off your employee had an attitude when we asked for a restroom key. Hey you might hate your job, but why is that our fault? We shopped here a lot and you have some good employees but there are some bad apples and policies apparently. We immediately left and went to raley's where we were treated with respect and all restroom were open to customers. read more

I always find what I want in this store everybody is so helpful The owners are great and it's a family owned business so everybody really cares. I have a full-time service dog who is always welcome there and he likes going in and visiting his friends who loves dogs as well. By the way they also carries fantastic amount of wines and beers, breads and ice cream's that you never see anywhere else! read more

I was not greeted by the checker, who was having a lengthy conversation with the guy who was bagging groceries . When I nicely brought up a couple of issues I had with the manager about the service I was receiving, I was treated rudely and dismissed. read more

You'd think that the Grocery Outlet chain is the same everywhere you go right? Well... I believe this chain is a weeee bit different. Here's why. Their employees must love their jobs. Why? Because even though it's a grocery store, I felt like Donald "You're fired" Frikkin Trump! We were checking out and the young woman at the Register (Maria I believe) mentioned how she loves Cotija Cheese, and I said that I'm a lover of Mexican food through and through but that I miss having authentic Pozole. And here's what she did: Wrote her number down and told my wife "If you want to learn how to cook it, I'll teach you for free". Um... THAT is the kind of employee I want in my business. Hell, that's the kind of employee that I want to RUN my business! Prices are always fair, products are always good, selection is always what we need. I've never had a problem at this store, but I've seen the manager in Chamber of Commerce events before and I know if I ever have a problem, she's not far away and can help in any way possible. I imagine she's the same way with her employees too... Maybe this is why they are all so helpful and look like they love their job! I hope the ownership never changes hands and they keep up their level of service. They really know how to make a guy feel welcome and appreciated. read more

Justin from Red Bluff is absolutely right. I've been to many a Grocery Outlet and I can sing all their typical praises and maybe I will again, but first a shout out for this store's friendly, helpful staff. At every aisle turn someone working here genuinely greeted us politely and offered to help us find things. One particularly industrious fellow noticed us looking at the bread and sent us to a special display of sourdough breads. The price was fantastic and the bread tastes great! Just like other Grocery Outlets, a good selection of staples and specialty items. The produce here was a notch above other Grocery Outlets too. Winner!!! read more

Written at 3:00 pm, November 5, 2020. I just returned from running errands, one of which was to shop at a store that I frequent, the Grocery Outlet store in Red Bluff.   As I entered the store I read the large sign on the door stating that Masks must be worn.  Fine, I had my mask on, no problem.  I am well aware of the current status in our county as being in the Purple tier of the state Covid-19 pandemic regulations, stating that masks must be worn in public.  Further that our county, Tehama County, albeit a small county, has a severe rate of infections from the disease.  Starting June 1, I began watching online the statistics for California, and in particular our county.  June 1, we had two cases of Covid-19 and 1 death.  As of today Tehama County has 988 cases and 15 deaths.  So, I am aware of that and the mandate to wear masks, which I practice faithfully. I entered the store, picked up a hand shopping basket, and proceeded to shop, first a the vitamin section, then briefly talking to a nice lady with her dog, then to the area with yogurt, etc.  I made my selections, put them in my basket, and continued to shop.   At the last aisle in the store almost at the end I noticed a woman employee talking to a tall young man.  I further noticed that the woman had her mask dropped down below her chin, and the man appeared to have a bandana on his neck but not his face.  As I passed them, I commented to the woman employee who was crouching down apparently stocking shelves, that "Masks are to be worn" and continued to the main aisle.  As I turned the corner I heard the woman say something, but it was not clear so I turned around and started to ask her what she said, but before I could even do that, was met by the young man, now having his bandana up on his face, then he grabbed the handles of the shopping basket, and said "Get our of my store" well I was shocked by that and asked who he was, and a heated conversation broke out between us.  He was holding the basket and trying to pull it out of my hands, and kept repeating for me to get out of his store, and that I would not be allowed to buy anything, and repeated that several times.  I asked why but he just kept repeating his "commands" and would not let go of the basket.  I told him to let go of the basket, and when he refused I told him that I will call the police, he said "go ahead and call the police" and continued to wrestle the basket.  He claimed to be the "boss" and I asked for his ID and he refused, and would not tell me his name.  Finally I let go of the basket and followed the man to the front of the store where he told another clerk "do not sell anything to that man", that clerk incidentally also had her mask dropped down on her neck, nodded to him, and looked at me.  I asked her what is his name, she said Michael, I then asked for his last name, she said she did not know it.   So, I left the store and did not call the police because, it obviously was not really a police matter, although it could be considered as an assault, but is definitely a matter of store management, rather, it was store mis-management. I drove home, came in and started writing this note.  I am disgusted with being treated as though I had done something wrong by reminding the woman employee to wear her mask.  I did nothing wrong and was rudely treated by "Michael".   I have owned stores in the past, and know that type of behavior is simply wrong and disgusting.  Any store that employees such brutish man, deserves to lose customers.  Any store that would not fire an employee for this action, is mis-managed for sure. This letter was sent to the owners of Grocery Outlet chain and the Red Bluff store and am sending a copy to our local newspaper The Red Bluff Daily News, for their letter to the editors section.  I expected a response, but did not hear from the store owner at all.   R J L Red Bluff, CA read more

Fantastic service to our community! This store and its atmosphere reminds me of Trader Joes only smaller. The friendliness of the staff and clerks, great variety of products, and new ones added weekly, lots of organics and non-GMOs, ripe edible bananas, prices are a bargain, and many non-food items even clothing too. Grocery Outlet is my favorite market. I go there first, then other markets if I have to. read more

On Fri., 5/29, my husband and daughter went to the Grocery Outlet store on 580 S. Main Street, Red Bluff, CA 96080. My husband bought 4 berry plants a week prior that seemed fine, until we got home approx. 15 miles from the store and 1 was DOA. The guy that usually handles the plants told my husband on a few occasions to return any plants that don't do well. He never had, prior to this date. Today, my husband told the gentleman that handles the plants what happened and a rotund, unkempt gentleman came out claiming to be the owner. He said "what's the problem here?" my husband explained the plant was DOA when he returned home and he wanted to exchange it. The owner said "what did you do to it? It shouldn't have died during that drive" and my husband said "it apparently needed water, the others were fine" and the owner said "oh really Mr. horticulture?" and my husband explained that he was told he could return it, so he was. The owner said "I'll take care of that for you. Get out of my store" so my husband said "fine" when my husband was waiting for my daughter outside, the owner came up and said "get off my property" and my husband said "I will when my daughter is done shopping" The owner said "what does she look like and I'll kick her out too" then the mgr. called the police to come over, but they didn't arrive. I spent at least a couple hundred of $$ there every month and now, I will not step foot into another Grocery Outlet again, against principle. This owner is a terrible, extremely unprofessional and disgusting representative for a newly remodeled store. I couldn't understand why many people I know don't go to this particular newly remodeled store, but I believe I do now. read more

We love this store! All the employees are nice, they work hard to keep the store clean. My FAVORITE part is finding vegan products at a fraction of Raley's prices! They have tons of organic products too! Frozen fruit, canned beans, coconut sugar, olive oil and bananas are regular purchases for us there. read more

Selection not average. Meaning you can find things not available in places such as Raleys. Good pricing and products are not bad.
