I was zooming up back along the 5 at 75 or so and I was hoping to make it back to Red Bluff without stopping, but the call of nature was calling and I pulled off at the Corning exit off the 5. I know there's a Starbucks here, it just next to this Chinese fast food restaurant I went to a while ago. Just get off the freeway, turn right and make another right and it's there. Plenty of parking and I go right in. The restrooms are clean and no weird stuff going on or anything ... Corning is not like San Francisco where I just was, that's for sure. I decided I might as well get a cup of coffee while I'm here and check my work e-mail in the WiFi, which was working fine. I used my thermo coffee cup that I travel with, and they filled it no prob. Worst service ever... I forgot to order sweet foam in my drink...when I was at the window I asked nicely if they could add sweet foam and I would pay the difference. The manager said you need to go around the drive-through and come back even though there was no cars waiting behind me literally NO CARS. instead of having me pay at the moment that I was at the window. Came in while I was using the supercharger. Staff was super friendly. Multiple employees greeted me. There was no line! I ordered a Medium (grande?) soy Iced Latte, and my total was $5.15. They have 2 gender neutral bathrooms. I used the one that wasn't occupied. It was clean and fully stocked. So 5:30 am I walk in from the motel like every time I stay here, nobody inside a few in the drive through. 3 people working inside. Nobody even looks at me for 5 minutes. The blonde kid in front of me sneaks a peak to see if I'm still there. I don't say anything and leave. As I walk outside I look back and the blonde kid and Mexican kid with glasses are laughing. This didn't sit well with me. I walk back in and ask"what's so funny". Blonde kid says" don't worry about it! I said wtf did you say? He said again, don't worry about it. I said some things I shouldn't have said and he threatened to call the cops. A friend and stopped here for a fill up on the way up to Shasta and beyond. I had a cafe misto with the blond roast and he some black iced tea. Both were good. My coffee was light as advertised and tasted good. The place is small was limited seating outside and a few more inside. Service is horrible. Especially I'm writing about young girl with blond hair, she introduced herself as a manager today. (August 19) So I was traveling and made two stops at this location to charge my car. Min while I went to Starbucks to grab coffee and water for my dog. First time all staff was playing with my puppy and everything was good. But the second time my doggie split the water on the floor, and because all stuff (I guess) were lazy, this amazing blondy decided to come to me and say "that it is not normal to pour water on the floor, we have other customers here (it was empty at that time). And supposedly they are doing me a favor by letting the dog into the cafe. If this happens again, I won't be able to get there again. Calm down girl So the thing is, if you want to come, for example, with a child and he/she will spill water or litter, then you will no longer be able to go there;))) lmao I have been working in the restaurant business for 7 years, and during all this time I have not behaved so etiquette with customers. There are at least 5 people behind the counter, 6 people in line and we waited 20 minutes to even order, and then waited another 10 minutes to get two regular pikes. Wow the reviews are like night and day. I'm glad we had some great experiences here! This is normally our last stop (tesla charge) when we do a road trip from the Bay Area to Seattle. We come in around 8-9pm. Bathrooms and surrounding areas always clean. I noticed some game boards for those that like to linger inside. We walked in tonight 1/29 around 7:30ish and overheard some local police officers talking to the cashier about how this is the only Starbucks they go to. I know why. The baristas here are super friendly. The cashier in particular. I wish I would've taken the guys name that checked us out because he went above and beyond for us! I frequent Starbucks all over the state because I travel regularly and I'm usually pretty critical, BUT this is the best one I've EVER been to based on customer service and the chai tea alone. The customer service is usually what brings the place down. They typically have arrogant people working here but the guy that helped us out was genuinly sweet and catering. We messed up ordering several times and then added drinks at the window and then we needed waters for our kids and then cups of ice to keep the bottles chilled.... it was a laundry list of reasons to hate us. lol The guy was amazing and deserved every penny in the tip jar in his own right, on top of the great service, our drinks (which we ended up getting two) were very good and made perfectly. I have one question, Starbucks. It is a simple question that should not require multitudes of brain cells yet somehow I fear for the answer. My question is this: How can you screw up a green tea so badly?!? Tea leaves + hot water! There IS nothing to mess up! But wow, no, I thought 'Gosh I'm running late and there's no time to make tea at home. No worries, I'll get one on the way.' I took the tea bag out almost right away so it didn't steep too long. That didn't seem to matter. Never had such a bitter green tea. It left a horrible aftertaste. I took two sips and before I threw it out, I let my friend try some.
