I am a 100% disabled American veteran. I have a certified service dog. I've shopped at gross out for many years in Oregon. Today when I entered the weed California grocery outlet I was summarily asked to leave and told I could never shop there again. Even though my dog has been thoroughly trained to disregard extraneous stimulants. I was not asked to leave. I was told to leave under conditions that I would consider assault. That is loud voices commands, overbearing authority and plain rudeness. I left the store because the confrontation with the clerks was becoming either a slugfest or a shootout. These are the most rude people I have ever encountered. I understand from the weed California police that the owner Rodney Barr cares for his own disabled brother. Maybe he should tell his employees. I will be trying to contact the owner. This deserves more attention than he's been paying to his store. It's outrageous read more

Store Owner Threatened to SMACK my friends kid. I was with my friend shopping. Her daughter was bouncing a blow up ball that we planned on buying. While going down the last aisle, the store owner was chatting with someone and started telling the 5 year old child that he was going to smack her. When he was politely told not to threaten the child, but he said it again. She began to cry! Then we told him not to threaten a child that was not his, the mother said, I do not hit my children so you should not be threatening her! He stated she should not be bouncing the ball around and it was a hazard. We told him, then say that, but do not threaten to hit a child. No apology, just telling us that she can't bounce the ball in the store. What a horrible owner!!! If you can avoid shopping there, I would find ANY other place. read more

Horrible experience, tipped my anxiety level ! checker dumped out my bag of groceries all over the infeed table, some went flying on the floor, said its not his job to check my bagged items...... Worst experience ever. I've shopped at this store for 7 years with my two children. Not once have I ever been stopped and told "my store my rules" regarding my son standing in the cart. Please keep in mind I'm aware of the best safety protocol at most retailers, I'm aware my child can fall and injure himself. Meaning I, as the parent know what's best for my child. I was stopped, not walking and looking at meat when the owner/boss(rodney to be exact) approached us and said "if your kid is going to be in my cart he needs to be on his butt" I replied with "excuse me" and again repeated himself but with a more firm demeanor, I made the comment "first I've ever heard of this" and was responded too with "my store my rules" and proceeded to stand there and watch me remove my son who then started crying from the cart until he walked away. Now again I'm aware of safety protocol, but there was definitely a better way to handle this instead of making us feel uncomfortable. There was other women with two children in her cart that wasn't stopped, just me. The power trip is a bit ridiculous if you ask me, and I've listened to other experiences and never gauged my own off of that until now. I will not be spending my money at this store anymore and hope the boss learns manners and respect when he expects his store to be treated like royalty. read more

Extremely rude owner & making an accusatory statement before getting any facts! First off, your store is dirty. The carts by the front sliding door had garbage in them, which meant looking for a clean cart only to find one with extremely dirty handles! Of course no wipes near the entrance to clean the handles! I happened to put a produce bag over the handle to use for produce - which he called me out asking "is this your cart?" He proceeded to scold me saying these are meant for items & not the handle. Why don't you put a little effort into making your carts clean & provide wipes!! Your behavior was inappropriate!! I will never shop here again!! read more

Nice clean store with large selection of items. However I was appalled to see the amount of customers without masks and filthy bare feet walking throughout the store. We're on a multi-state road trip and this is the worst we've seen in a public place beings that we're still in the midst of a so-called pandemic. This is the worst Grocery Outlet I have ever been to. Starting with the filthy parking lot and cart selection. There is trash everywhere and behind the store the field is covered in trash. The isles are crammed with lifts full of product which could be good in a restocking kind of way but in this case it is so bad that it is dangerous. You couldn't get through the isles I saw a senior bus pull up and it raised serious concern for their safety. The complete disregard for the their customers is astounding. In some cases you couldn't access the product that they did have. Additionally, there was frozen food waiting to be stocked in the isles for hours. OSHA violations everywhere. read more

Honestly I have really loved the Weed Grocery Outlet. I have recommended it to family and friends. But sadly I was in their today as a customer. I desperately needed to use the restroom. I went to the managers office to ask if I could use their restroom. I was told they did not have to let customers use their restroom. I was quite surprised at their response. I asked nicely and was dressed in nice clean clothes. But was told their lawyer said they did not need to legally allow customers to use their restrooms. How sad that they did not have an ounce of compassion for me or anyone else who was supporting their store by shopping their. Because of this I will no longer recommend them to friend or family or anyone else that I feel may at some point find themselves in a desperate need for a rest restroom. read more

I was very excited when we got a Grocery Outlet in town. Everything had a price shown and they were correct. I don't know what has changed in management but Now they are being sneaky/deceptive. Prices are missing, mostly higher priced items that are placed next to lower priced items. They are hoping you pick them up and don't realize it is costing you more, sometimes a lot more! This store had a 5* rating with me until they started this deceptive advertising, product placement. Remember if there isn't a price right under your item, odds are good that it will be priced higher. read more

This Grocery Outlet sits directly across the street from the Pilot Travel Center on Vista Drive in Weed, and is within walking distance of several fast food restaurants, one mediocre sit-down mexican place, and a few gas stations, coffee stands, and motels. As a night driver, I do wish this were 24-hours, but you can't have it all! It has pretty generous hours for a smaller store like this - opens at 7a and closes at 9p. Though this isn't necessarily a 5-star Grocery Outlet, it's getting an extra star or two for being basically the only real store at a truck stop! I am so grateful! I plan my trips around taking my break in Weed so I can buy actual groceries, and not just truck stop food at marked-up truck stop prices. I have been to my share of Grocery Outlets over the years, across several states (mostly in Washington), and this one is small-average in size. The selection isn't bad considering its size, but it could be better. They have dry, produce, refrigerated, and frozen food sections, bakery items (bread and pastries), beverages, alcohol, vitamins, OTC meds, toiletries, paper products, cleaning supplies, candy, misc. goods, and seasonal items. I have generally been able to more or less walk away with what I needed, even if I've had to be creative about it. My only complaint isn't about Grocery Outlet at all, but about California's ridiculous recycle tax. Tonight, I paid $20 for a few cases of a favorite beverage, and the recycle fee was $8! Unreal. Because of this, I usually only buy a few flavored drinks here, and save purchasing my cases of water for states that don't bully you into recycling. (Nothing against recycling. I love recycling. I do it for free!) If you're a trucker and you shop here, please treat them well. Please don't make them regret their choice of location. We have so few options on the road. If you take a cart over to your truck to unload, freaking put it back! Anytime I'm walking over to GO and see a cart at Pilot, I take it with me. Sad to say, this happens more often than not. This place is not friendly to truck drivers, especially female drivers with service pets which is unfortunate as I'm a truck driver with a service pet and was treated very poorly and disrespected. This has become my go-to grocery store in Siskiyou Country. I feel incredibly blessed that this store is only minutes from my home. I am on a very limited diet and today I found- Green banana flour, blanched almond flour, Monkfruit extract and other obscure ingredients needed for a grain free diet all for at least half off where I have been able to find them elsewhere. There is a great beer and wine selection. I find fantastic cheeses and I get to satisfy my adventurous tastebuds without having to break the bank. All of the employees are great as well and I've never heard any negative feedback about the work environment. Also I have a huge problem with them acting as if their customers are stupid by inflating the "Elsewhere cost" on the price tags. We regularly shop at grocery outlets all over the Pacific Northwest. However, today's visit to the weed location was a wreck. We live local, and the wife never travels without her service. Dog. This service dog that is approved by the ADA has been in every establishment and airplane with us for the last five years. He wears his vest full time he is not an emotional support. Dog, he provides medical services for my wife. As we entered the Weed grocery outlet, the store manager approached us and rudly asked about the dog. we tried to tell her he was a service dog and what services he provided. She would not listen and proceeded to tell us he is an emotional support dog. After minutes of very discussion from Manger we left the store. Called the store owner after we left the store, and the owner was just as rude and said that he would not listen to us. We will never go in this establishment again. The yreka store was super friendly and did not have a problem with our service dog. read more

I entered Grocery Outlet with my service dog and husband to do some shopping. As I approached the first aisle, the store manager asked me if my dog was a service dog and I replied that yes he was. She then asked what service he was trained to preform, and I said that he alerts me before I have a panic attack. She said that she didn't want to know my medical condition, just what the dog was trained to do. I repeated that he is trained to alert me before I have a panic attack. The manager then said to me that my dog was an emotional support dog. I stated, "no, he is a service dog." The manager questioned me again about his training and my husband got upset and he decided that we should leave. We immediately called the Grocery Outlet store owner, Rodney at 530-938-4778, to discuss the issue. As I began to explain the situation, just as I have above, Rodney interrupted me and began telling me that they are required by law to ask about dogs. I explained that I understood the law, but that his manager was not happy with the answers that I had given her. He then said, "I am not listening to you while you are upset." I did not scream, or use nasty language when I spoke to him. My voice may have been elevated due to the stress of the conversation. I stated to him that his manager kept insisting that my dog was an emotional support dog and not a service animal. The owner just kept telling me that he would not listen to me, so I told him that maybe the ADA would listen to me. We live in a very small and rural area. There are not very many grocery stores around us. I have shopped at other Grocery Outlet stores and have never had an issue like this. I feel that the owner and the manager need to be more considerate of other's needs. I also believe that they need to have clarity on what a service dog is and is not. read more

Their organic and natural food selection is better than any Grocery Outlet I've ever seen and their wine/beer selection is carefully curated. This market just opened up a couple days ago. It was so remarkable to see how many folks came out and just had so much joy seeing another grocery store in town. I'm originally from LA and I have to tell you that the cost-of-living down there is just difficult to manage sometimes. Up here can be equally as hard in terms of amenities and options. Thank goodness for Grocery Outlet. Ray's which is the other only known market up here is just ridonkolous in terms of their pricing. The employees are nice and because it is a new store everything is shelved really well and stocked. Parking is adequate and getting to the location from the freeway is a matter of minutes. What draws folks to this place is its ability to offer low prices on produce and products. But the flipside is that most products will be either expiring or require consumption rather soon because of the best before dates. But sometimes it's also because they receive overstock from other market places and stores. Also they have a great amount of organic produce and organic products so it's great to get it at a low price and on top of that they also sell various household and personal items for low prices. In terms of what items they carry I do think it depends on each individual location because some places may not carry the same items. So If you're heading up towards Oregon or coming down towards Southern California and you need to stop by to get a quick snack, this is the place you want to stop by before the long drive. The only thing I can say that's disappointing about this location is that it closes at 9 PM compare to the other stores which close around 10 PM ( I asked a store clerk ). But if you get there soon enough and shop around before closing time, you're going to get a great deal and save a ton on food for the family.
