Groome Transportation makes getting from SFO/OAK to Santa Rosa pretty straightforward and easy to navigate, especially if you don't want to deal with renting a car or driving out of the city yourself. The trip is always on the longer side with all the stops, so just plan for that going in...it's not the fastest ride, but it is simple and stress free. Everything is pretty organized and boarding is smooth, which makes the whole process easy. Only real downside on my recent trip is that there was no AC, which definitely made the longer ride feel way warmer and stuffy than ideal. The busses are showing some slight wear and tear but they aren't completely run down. I've never really had major complaints. Overall solid 7/10. Unbelievable how easy it is to use this service from Sonoma County to SFO or OAK. But traveling from Sonoma County to STS requires some extra attention because the buses from SFO and OAK traveling to STS are running all the time, but can't get on one of them to travel to STS because drivers don't take payment unless it is cash and making a reservation is difficult from Sonoma County to STS. Buses will not stop at scheduled time if there is not a scheduled pick up or drop off. read more

I've been taking this since it was Sonoma County Airport Express as it's always been the best value getting down from Sonoma County to San Francisco and Oakland airport. Buses are comfortable and it's reliable where there aren't a lot of other options. However, I do feel like I wish the buses would come on the hour or something that's a little bit easier to keep track of. I also wish, as is the case on my other end of transit when I frequently head back to Boston, that there is a way of tracking the buses in real time maybe on an app or something like that. Because it's extremely frustrating to wait out where the airporters pick up and not know whether the bus has come yet or not. I understand it's nearly impossible for them to arrive exactly on time with traffic coming and going. But there should be a way of letting us know how close the next bus is. Places like Logan Airport have digital readout signs that tell you when the next specific bus is set to arrive, and they arrive much more frequently and on the half hour. If you miss one Sonoma County bus, you have to wait an hour and 15 minutes for the next one, which can be the difference between making it home at a decent time and making it home at a much later time due to the traffic through the Narrows. read more

I have had very possible experiences and some very negative experiences with Sonoma County Groome transportation to SFO. Unfortunately my last trip was definitely did not highlight their best. After a long return with multiple flights from Europe, my luggage was removed from the bus at an earlier stop. The bag was removed in Petaluma which is a break stop and no one noticed it was not claimed. When we arrived at my stop, the driver acknowledged the luggage was removed too early. After a 20 hours travel day, my choices to retrieve my luggage was to drive back down to Petaluma, wait 1+ hours for the next bus (9:45 pm), or drive to Petaluma the next day (we live 60 minutes from Petaluma). Their mistake equals my problem. A "sorry" doesn't make up for my inconvenience. read more

This is super convenient service and people are friendly. However, you don't have any way to process a credit card in San Rafael?? I truly miss AirPort Express. Ever since Groome took over every experience has been worse than the last. I am a decades long customer of this service and am so disappointed with the last few rides. Drivers are more aggressive driving and prices getting higher for worse vehicles. I miss the actual busses. My most resent drive, he had his girlfriend in the passenger seat and didn't say a word to any of the passengers, unprofessional. They have a monopoly on the travel options. But now I'd rather pay extra plane ticket fair to Santa Rosa airport than deal with another Groome ride ever. I could note a lot of other issues and instances but not worth the effort. read more

At first I was concerned and I am here to tell you from the 1st communications with this kind gentleman, @Tony Geraldo I knew I was in good hands. This is a very special team. I was running later than Tony recommended and starting to sweat & stress. I called & Ronnie immediately put me at ease with, "no worries you've got plenty of time," and added levity with her cheerful & refreshing light humor. Once I got there I asked for Ronnie to thank her for reassuring me, which allowed me enjoy the rest of my drive there. She warmly welcomed me, very cool lady, offered coffee and on my way out said take some more kisses, (chocolate!) Then I was fumbling with full hands and she took my bag and brought it to the bus. Who does this anymore? Not many and certainly not enough. Im OG and love good manners, consideration and that personal connection. Then we meet Ms Rosemary and I asked her who is your boss and she told me it was Tony. He is "awesome sauce" steady eddy, aka best boss. When you work for someone like this you are spoiled. I do not enjoy traveling 101 to either airport and Rosemary gave us a very smooth & enjoyable trip. I love this company because of the people! Every time I get picked up in SFO they are always late. 20 minutes this time. Last time the bus never showed up and had to wait for the next one... that was also late. Drive had time to put us back on schedule but left us sitting in Petaluma for a while. I don't remember having these problems when it was AirPort Express. read more

I really like this bus service and I have been using it for years and years. So, most of the time, no complaints about the busses or the drivers. Although once or twice one of the drivers has thought he was driving a rally car not a bus full of people - he hasn't been driving lately so that's a good thing. The main problem is that since taking over Airport Express the Groome Transport web site has gone from bad to worse. It is junked up with lots of information and lacks a simple one click BUY TICKET button. I always allow 15-20 minutes or more to navigate the system to make all the tedious selections and get my tickets. And I always make sure to screen grab my receipt because there is no option/reminder to print it. If they fixed the web site to be more functional I would waste a lot less time and energy. read more

OK. Things have gotten better. The drivers are still a little bit ornery at times. Not all the drivers but some are consistently on the grumpy side. But the ride is good and reliable. On pick up at SFO keep in mind that if you have several terminals ahead of your terminal, it could set them 10, 15, even 20 minutes behind so don't panic. They are offering a great deal right now! I love the convenience but the rides I've had in the last two years have been harsh and bouncy. It was very uncomfortable. And several drivers are a little grumpy if you are a woman. We were part of a group that needed transportation to and from San Francisco Airport. The buses were very modern, comfortable, and clean, the driver was really helpful and very competent - he avoided a big traffic jam, and we arrived at the airport early and with lots of time to spare. Getting to SFO is usually on schedule. Getting back to Sonoma County is challenging. There is no app to track the buses and I have routinely waited for hours for a bus to show up. They don't care if they are late. There is no hotline or any way to check on buses. You just have to sit and wait. No wifi and no power outlets on the bus. Very sad! read more

Emergency exits on ceiling leaked; some of the seats were wet. Okay... I picked a dry seat. 20 minutes later driver hits the brakes and a bunch of water comes down out of the ceiling. Groome came into town and bought out Airport Express. They jacked the prices up and the busses are bare bones, funky. At least Airport Express had super nice, cushy and comfortable busses.. It is still a great service, but when did the Wi-Fi service end??? I'm on a data plan, keeps phone costa down. One of the reasons for taking the bus is so that I can get some stuff done while in transit for 90 min. Pay last-minute bills, purchase tickets for events at my destination, surf web for stuff to do at destination, look at flight schedules, etc. Prices go up, services go down. 6:45AM Shuttle from Sonoma to Oakland on June 9th. First off the shuttles are small vans with no wifi or bathrooms as advertised. The worst part is my driver got out of the car to yell at someone parked in the red. Not sure if you should be driving a van of people when you clearly have road rage. Our driver then continued to eat a banana and some other container of food while driving. Airport bus service to and from SFO has really gone downhill since Groome took over from Sonoma County AirPort Express. we no longer have on board WiFi, the outlets at the seats often do not work and the ticketing agent at Petaluma was totally unprepared for our arriVal. it took her a long time to get out to the bus and then when she did, she's did not have her tablet. we had to wait again for her to SLOWLY walk back to the office to retrieve it. then once she returned, we had to wait for her to power it up. unacceptable since it is a scheduled bus! we do have planes to catch! very disappointing Groome read more

It is with great dispointment and displeasure that I write this review. Their rates have drastically climbed over the past few years. It adds nearly 100 dollars to each trip (only 6 dollars shy). The student, senior, and military discount offered are severely lacking. Something so convenient is rapidly becoming overpriced. Their wifi service has ended, and yet rates have continued to climb. They continue to offer the same service with less amenities at a rising price. As a long-time user, I would recommend alternative options such as park SFO. *EDIT since writing this review days ago, prices have risen yet again. The marin airporter accessible by smart train offers fairs nearly half. I'm unsure why rates continue to climb. read more

Using an uncomfortable van to go to Oakland airport, at the same price as taking a comfortable bo San Francisco, is unacceptable. I heard from an employee that some customers are left behind if the van is full. I will find a different service in future. read more

The busses are on time, the $6 a day, $30 a week parking at Petaluma Fairgrounds pick up area is a great option, and for San Francisco, it's every hour on the half hour, starting at 3:30 a.m., the office there opens at 3 a.m. read more
