So, these people are very nice and they normally do a wonderful job bathing my golden retriever. However, he went for a summer shave today and they did such a bad job that I feel like I need to post photos. His fur is so short in some places you can see his skin. They cut his tail??? Like roughly half of the length of his tail, they cut off. He is nine years old and I have never seen anything like this. I'm really upset. I worry that his feathers won't grow back. They butchered his ear hair? I'm not upset about them charging full price for this, but I'm upset about what how little effort was put into this. read more

I can't say enough great things about Groomingdale's!! I was fostering a kitten who had an accident all over herself, and they told me they don't groom cats, but because they love that I'm fostering they squeezed her in same-day. She also let me stand and watch as she taught me how to bathe cats on my own so that I could do it at home! On top of all this, she even trimmed her nails, while letting me watch and teaching me tips and tricks! When I asked how much all this would be, she said free because she is so happy I'm fostering. She gave me her card, offered to order me some nail clippers, and told me to call her any time when it comes to the foster kittens. This place doesn't even groom cats and they were so friendly and helpful!! Groomingdale's are literally some of the nicest, most caring animal lovers I've met. They literally made my whole week by helping my kitty and I out today. 10/10 highly recommend bringing your furry friend here!!! read more

Harmful to your pets. I've taken my dog here three times. I should have known after the second visit when they didn't trim her nails and wasn't returned timely that they weren't very professional. This was the first time I had them cut her short. She came back with an awful hair cut, blotchy with nicks and cuts in several places. To close to her eye, one ear is an inch longer and the short one is nearly docked. She is 8 years old and well behaved. No reason for this. She came back home irritable and unkind. I will be reporting this abuse to the better business bureau and federal trade commission. read more

What a great groomer! I drove past this place for years growing up and decided to take my dog there after reading some excellent reviews. They did such a good job on my cocked, Jude! I was very pleased and he left happy. They have a very open and welcoming environment for the dogs, where they can run around and not be totally cooped up while they are there. The staff was all very friendly and even helped me out to the car because I was carrying my infant son at the time. I just scheduled him for another appointment next week as he has gotten quite fluffy and I look forward to dropping him off :) keep up the good work you guys. It saddens me that I have to leave this review, but I was mistreated today by Alex. I have been a paying customer since 2004. Today I brought my dog of 9 years in for her appointment. She's been going to Groomingdales for 9 years straight. I have never had a problem with Alex. When I picked my dog up today I barely recognized her! She has long hair on her ears that gets matted but Alex usually(for 9 years in a row) just Detangles the mats out. Today however she cut ALL the hair off my dogs ears. I was horrified! The hair on her ears were no more matted than they usually are when she goes to Alex this I KNOW. The hair on her ears are her signature. I was upset but calm because of my faith in God he keeps me calm. I called up there and simply asked if the hair on her ears would ever grow back and Alex just LOST IT with me! She started shouting "She was matted Rita!!! She was very condescending about it. I was trying to calm her down and everything. It was AWFUL. I even called on the Lord I said "Lord Jesus" and Alex told me "Don't bring God into this." I was horrified again! I then said " I bring The Lord Into everything I do." After that she hung the phone up on me. As God is my witness I DID NOT curse at Alex nor was I shouting at her. I was simply calling to ask my groomer of 9 years about my beloved fur baby's appearance. I was accused by Alex of giving "attitude " when in reality Alex was the one with all the attitude and not a good one either. I even apologized (even though I literally did nothing wrong) to try and calm Alex down but she was still talking fast and not listening to me. Like I said it was AWFUL. As a paying customer I have a right to call and ask a question smh. Needless to say I won't be back. I even recommended people throughout the years that were looking for a groomer to Alex. God will deal with you Alex and how you mistreated me today. Also my dog (here lately) would be very hesitant to go into Groomingdales and she LOVES to go in ANY door. She's hyper and happy like that. My baby knew something wasn't right about that place and I should have listened to her. I will NOT go anywhere where someone tells me to leave God out of things. read more

Love Groomingdale's! I took my shih Tzu there for the 1st time and they did an excellent job! They were very friendly and accomodating!

Not only did my doggie get the best cut but the shop was clean, organized and well staffed (groomer, bather and administrator). The groomer patiently listened to exactly what I wanted, and when I picked up my dog - the entire staff came out to greet me to tell me how well he cooperated. And I could tell he enjoyed being there - as he did not want to leave. Note - Alex (the groomer) completed a certificated training course (which NC does not require...and I think she is the only one in Winston area with such a certification). She's also been in business for 11 years - which is proof that her customer base loves her (as most groomers come and go every several years). Will definitely go back again!!! read more

I took my dog to Groomingdale's her second trip and the groomer cut one of her toenails into the quick. NO one told me or said anything so when my dog bled all over some fabric light colored furniture, I figured out what had happened. I also saw blood on the dogs shoulder and it was still coming from the toenail. When I told the dog back to get them to stop the bleeding and see about getting the furniture cleaned up, the groomer said she did not know, it happened all the time and it was not her fault. I am sure that no one else cut the dog's toenail. read more

My 31/2 year old labradoodle has been going to Groomingdales since he was a puppy. I now take my 9 month old labradoodle puppy there too. Yesterday morning I was taking my puppy to be groomed and as we got out of the car she slipped away from me and ran into the street. She was hit by a car but fortunately no lasting damage. Alex and her staff were absolutely wonderful thru it all, Alex rushed Tessa to the emergency vet hospital while Nick took care of basket case me. The accident was one of those very unfortunate freaky things and in no way reflects on Groomingdales. Tessa didn't get her spa day but she will be back there on Monday to be pampered. Groomingdales is the best! I have been to other dog grooming places both in Clemmons and here in Winston and found the gromers don't listen, do what THEY want and make it easy on themselves. Alex listens to what YOU want and has our dog looking great. Not a fancy place, just one that makes me and my dog happy. He is a cockapoo and has a lot of hair. Other places have him in a "poodle" cut which I don't like. (high plume on the top of his head, fancy puffs of hair near his feet.....like a poodle show dog. If I wanted a poodle, I would have bought a poodle! Alex listens and Jake comes out looking just the way we want him to. Plus, no over use of perfumes where the dog smells for over a week or more that he has been to the groomers! Alex does a great job. She used to groom our Shih-Tzu and when he died, we missed going to Alex. Then we got Jake and now he is enjoying Alex's great work! read more

GROOMINGDALES COUNTRY CLUB RD W-S NC 27104 I submitted a review which I have copied and pasted below along with the rude reply from the business. I was NOT a first time customer and I WAS told it would be 2 hours. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY MAKE APPOINTMENTS AT ALL IF IT IS FIRST COME FIRST SERVED. I have taken my dog to our Vet now for her nail trims and NEVER have had any problems. The owner was RUDE and yelled at me. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESS AND DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU TAKE YOUR PET THERE. My posted review and business reply: The worst experience EVER. I made an appointment for 12:30pm to take my dog in for her nails clipped and a bath. I was told it would be about 2 hours. 4 hours later after I had already been by to pick her up, I finally demanded they have my dog ready as I was coming to pick her up. The owner was so totally rude to me on the phone and said it was "first come. first served". I asked then what is the point in making an appointment to which she responded that my dog was badly behaved and would not be allowed back. My dog is a puppy and that is their business dealing with dogs of ALL kinds. I have NEVER been spoken to so rudely and this was totally unprofessional. My dog looked terrifed also when I picked her up and peed all across the floor on the way out. GOOD DOG. BAD BUSINESS!!! Business Response from Hada This first-time customer does not understand how a grooming shop appointment works. As we explained to her, we take the dogs in the order that they come in.
