This place is amazing!! I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews for this doggie daycare. I have a german shepherd/great dane/mastiff mix named Maggie that I have been bringing her to ruff housing since she was 18 weeks old and she is now 13 months. I'm really sad, because I have moved and I just spent the afternoon touring doggie day care facilities in my area and haven't found anything as nice as Ruff Housing. First, you go in and they are more than happy to give you a tour of the facility so you can see where your dog is going to be all day. There is a dog smell and as this was the first doggie day care I have ever used (I haven't had a dog since I was a kid) I had no idea how clean and nice the facility actually is. I toured some other places in my area today that were pretty gross. The rooms at Ruff Housing are spacious and the kennels for the dogs are really nice. There are separate spaces for dogs based on size for day care and they have areas for specialized group play and the enrichment program. After the tour, I scheduled my dog in for assessment and they determined she would be best to start off in enrichment which is one-on-one time with a trainer and some dog play with 1-2 dogs with matched playing styles. At the beginning I thought, ok, so my dog will do this for a couple weeks and we can advance to specialized group play which is playing with 5-10 dogs. No - my dog did enrichment until pretty recently and just moved to specialized group play during her last week there. At first I was a bit irritated because I wanted her to run around more with the other dogs and get out more of her energy and I thought being around more dogs would make her more comfortable around dogs. Even with just the enrichment, Maggie is so comfortable with other dogs. I can take her the dog park and she has no issues whatsoever playing and I think it was because Ruff Housing took it slow with introducing the number of dogs she would play with. My dog is also naturally very nervous and has anxiety especially in new places and new people so knowing that other people were handling her and interacting with her to help build her confidence has been really good for her development. I have been working with a trainer at home because my dog is very protective of the house and she says this slow introduction is really how it should be done for more nervous dogs, otherwise they can be overwhelmed and make their conditions worse. One of the trainers Haley, was actually the same trainer Maggie had at Petsmart for her beginners class and she moved over to Ruff Housing. We have also done boarding here a couple of times. I always choose the penthouse suite even though it's more expensive. I like that there is a webcam and I can check in on her at all times while I'm away to make sure she's doing ok. There's even a turndown service where someone comes in and hangs out a bit before bed time. Also, before my dog was spayed, she couldn't really hold her pee overnight and would have to go out around 11-12, then again in the morning around 6. Since people work there overnight, you can add additional potty breaks or other accommodations for a cost, normally last potty break I think is around 8. They are also very good about following instructions for food, during drop-off the last time we did boarding Matthew wrote done everything to do and they treat fortiflora like a drug so we had to fill out something for that. We also boarded our cat in the new catty corner and felt totally comfortable leaving her there. Between the cat and dog areas are a number of doors, I toured again before we did the cat boarding because I was concerned with having the dogs so close to the cats. Each cat gets their own tower section with the litter box on the bottom. I bathe my dog at home so I don't know anything about their grooming services. I will say I was disappointed when they took report cards away from enrichment, it was really nice seeing some pictures of what Maggie was doing (you can still get it if you pay extra). My dog would get so excited to go here, and the people at the front desk all knew her by name when we would walk in the door, I'm really going to miss it. (Maggie misses it too!) My dog Beni (age 12) had not often been in a kennel situation. I started taking her to Witt street, close by and occasionally to Country club which is further for me. They had her taking an enrichment program for her to learn how to be around other dogs(she is a people dog) and she graduated and enjoys play time . They are always so good with her. I think she is verywell taking care of,They call if they have questions about feeding or meds or whatever. Also both places have great groomers. The idea of this place is great. The follow through, not so much. My dog went to Witt St. a couple of times, as well. My dog was placed on enrichment as well. And it seems like they can never accept her for daycare. She is almost always waitlisted. As you will see from my screenshots. Additionally my dog is not excited to go to this place. As I'm thinking she would be to play with other dogs. But she is not allowed to play with other dogs for long periods of time as I hoped she would. It's like she's alone in a kennel while there. When I pick her up from doggy daycare I expect her to be worn out from all the activities they have planned for her. But no! When I pick her up it takes her a minute to get reacclimated to life and she always has to pee and poop as soon as we walk out of the door as if she's not given the opportunity to do it there. I pray a credible doggy daycare will come to Winston-Salem because Ruff Housing ain't it! read more

We had been taking our 18 mo old Labrador Retriever to Ruffhousing for day care 2 -3x a week. On the last occasion used them to both board and provide day care as we were going to be out of town. The staff had told us they had our dog in the "Enrichment Program" which sounds like a benefit but as we found out, is a way to warehouse your dog rather than provide him activity and interaction. Although we paid for both boarding and day care, our dog was provided outside play and interaction with other dogs for approximately 2 - 3 hours per 24 hour hours. The "Enrichment" was a 10 - 20 minute one on one with a staff person. The "Enrichment Program" is marketed as an added benefit along with Day Care but is actually a way to limit the staff they need to care and provide activity to all of the dogs warehoused there. When asked the staff are trained to be vague about how "Enrichment" works. They will say it is to help dogs stay calm and learn behaviors but do not fully explain that the 10 minute one on one it is not an addition but rather replaces the 9 AM - 2 PM time that an owner would expect to be mostly play and activity for their dog. It is replaced with total isolation other than those 10 minutes of one on one. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with the "Enrichment Program" and how it was explained I was overtalked by the manager, told that Ruffhousing provides their services in a manner that works for them, not for the owner of the pet, was told I must not value the safety of other dogs or their staff if I want my dog out of the "Enrichment Program" (my Lab is an energetic 18 mo old lab without a mean or aggressive bone in his body) and ultimately hung up on by the manager. When we returned from our trip, we collected our Lab and vowed to never put our pet in that situation despite having hundreds of dollars left on a package. If a loyal customer using their service 3x a week for almost a year is treated in this manner, I wouldn't expect better for anyone. read more

This company is beyond corrupt. I have been going back and forth with them for weeks trying to send back a "waterproof bed" that isn't waterproof. Hopefully, PayPal resolves the dispute and gives me my money back. It's been one lie after another. Strawmans left and right. I honestly feel like I am getting gaslighted, and you can hear the shark in their replies. I hope that people smarter than me check these reviews before purchasing. Please, don't. Please do not leave an older dog here. My dog boarded there since a puppy. At 14 years old she boarded for 6 days, lost 5 pounds (19 pound dog) ( was told consistently during this time that she was doing really well) and died 7 days after I picked her up ( we were overseas for 6 days) Brittany the manager said " we were doing you a favor keeping her as she is old"......older dogs deserve as much care if not more as younger dogs. In response.....I called the day before we came home from Paris to make sure Charlotte was ok....Brittany said all was fine. When I arrived home the next day I was told she was sick. I called every day from Paris and was told she was eating, the report cards said she was fine. Brittany absolutely said that you do not board older dogs and then hung up on me. We've taken our dog to the Witt St location for boarding and occasional day care for several years now. When we first started going there, the staff seemed happy and engaged and showed an interest in our dog, remembering her from visit to visit. There has been a lot of turnover at Witt St and the current staff seem to lack enthusiasm and interest in what they're doing. I realize it's a low-paying job, but my dog is nervous and needs to feel cared for and shown some attention. Also, even though we provide treats and specifically ask them to give her the treats whenever they put her in the bedroom suite, they haven't given her any of them. The cameras are good and bad. Bad because it shows the staff members just sitting there, not interacting with the dogs at all. If they don't like dogs and don't want to engage with the dogs, find another job. Unfortunately, I can't find any better options in the area. I believe our dog is safe at Ruff Housing, but she is only getting the bare minimum in terms of care. I would really like to see the staff paying more attention to the dogs and for heaven's sake, give my dog her treats. read more

Only choose a 1 because 0 is not available. Bought 2 Jean jackets for my Yorkie. Used the size chart they provided but the jackets are too big. Called the day after they were delivered to ask if I can exchange them for one size smaller. Was denied and told to sew them smaller myself. The man I spoke with said they are "custom made" and not returnable. This should have been mentioned in the product description or the product checkout area. This place is wonderful! I want to give it five stars, but I have to knock off a star over the cost, which, I will give you, the breakdown and misunderstanding of said costs is entirely my fault, as I did not request a copy of the services provided prior to paying. Instead, I paid, left, then saw the receipt later and was all like, Doh! Now I know for next time. :) That said, the first thing I noticed (aside from the uber cute blue paw prints leading you from the parking lot to the front door), was that the floor in the building was a type of (synthetic i believe) wooden style paneling. In other words, it's not the type of flooring you will find at the vet's office, pet smart, hospital, etc. so if you bring your pup here from the start, she/he will not immediately freeze in fear thinking a thermometer up their butt is in their near future. The customer service in setting up a reservation was superb (friendly, and easy!), and since I planned on having my little girl stay in an individual kennel, I could simply drop her off without needing to come early for a behavior assessment. I did, however, need to bring proof of her Rabies vaccinations being up to date. This is standard for most (if not all) dog care facilities (even pet smart requires it for nail clippings!). The bonus? I was coming from out of state, and my access to a scanner and/or a fax machine was limited, so I was able to bring the records with me (instead of needing to send them ahead of time like many places have required). WOW Factor Super Mega Points: Someone is at the front desk (or at least available to come to the front door) 24/7. 24/7 I tell you! Web cams! And not the Chatroullete type either. The inclusion of this feature is becoming more popular with dog day cares, and it is something that Ruff Housing offers. I was unable to take advantage of this, but love that it's an option. Late pick up! I'm assuming this has to do with someone being at the facility 24/7 - but the fact that this place even allows it (even if for an extra charge) is fantastic. Flexible times, great for dog moms on the go. Cubbies! Yep, your dog gets his/her own cubby while staying here. I brought her own food, as well as toys and a blanket with familiar smell from home. COST: Well, this is sort of a downer (and as the theme of my reviews will show, the general expenditure of -any- funds makes my stomach turn and teeth clench), as it cost $90 for the whole weekend (on the phone I was told $12 each day and $19 each night - so a whole weekend in my brain = at most $80), BUT all in all, $90 is still a very good deal for all that you get. It is comparable to other places, and still much cheaper than the D.C. area's doggy day care prices (here, day care alone is generally $25-30 a day for decent places, NOT including overnight costs). The only thing I would change about this is to ask for a written break down/estimate of the costs prior to the stay. The receipt only showed the cost, but didn't display a breakdown of the services provided. The cherry on top for me, was when I went to pick up my dog, I saw her walking around behind the front desk - so even though I had paid for her to stay in her own room (cheaper than the group play, not because she is anti-social), they (and this is pure conjecture on my part) loved Lucy so much that she could hang out at the front desk with the workers. :-) It took Lucy a minute to realize it was me, and when she did she howled and howled. I translated this as: "Thank YOUUUUUU for sending me to Ruff Housing!" Overall, I recommend locals as well as out of towners try this place, and I will surely come here again the next time I visit my cousins in Winston-Salem. read more

Poor thing was in such a bad shape. when I called them to inquire what may have gone wrong, they became defensive and said there was nothing wrong with the dog and eventually hung up on me. In defense, every time I voiced a concern the manager did attempt to make amends! We were supposed to leave our Shih Tzu there for 8 days in the Penthouse but picked her up the third day. First the webcam went down daily late at night for hours, which made me very anxious! I watched for hours as my dog was continously left alone! The website states, our dogs would not feel alone and that they are there for late night belly rubs and potty breaks. I watched my dog wait for hours at the door to be taken out, I notified staff but no one came for hours. I watched as staff came into the room to feed her, and after she was alone so long and happy to see someone, she was ignored, not even petted! I watched as she did not get her full allotted time, that was paid for. She was completely alone and so sad! My dog rarely barks, maybe once a week, so rare that it startles us, I watched her bark and cry constantly over the period that she was there! Pricey, but this was my go-to place to board my husky when I lived in Winston Salem. Very friendly staff. I always added the grooming service for my husky, and it's the best! My dog always smelled wonderful and looked very handsome with his ruff housing bandana. My husky is super energetic. I always select 1/2 daycare 1/2 crate, and he would always come home extremely tired from playing with other dogs. Webcam feature is a plus when you miss your fur baby. read more

Let's just say my long haired Yorkie who came in with a long coat and a top knot and a bow in her hair came out with a very short cut that I can not even put a bow in. I specifically showed a picture to the groomer of how I wanted her cut. I specifically asked to leave her top knot. Hint it being pulled up in the pony tail when I dropped her off. I'm usually not the type to leave reviews, especially bad ones. I've never written one. But it's a different story when it comes to my dog. I took Ruby to Ruff Housing over at Witt Street at 8 am. Before leaving, I'd asked them to call me 30 minutes before she was ready bc I live far away. Unfortunately, they forgot my dog was even there and had to check in & call at 3 pm if she was ready. Sure enough, she was, as she had been there for 8 hours. After the grooming, our happy-go-lucky, carefree dog has turned into a sad dog who seems to have PTSD. She randomly shakes while laying down, as if recounting a traumatizing event of someone hitting her. Her nails are still long. Her private parts are all red and swollen. I was charged a $20 dematting fee although she has been shaved to the bone, $20 special handling fee for a 10 lb dog. The extra charge did not really bother me since I'd pay for anything just for her but what bothered me the most was how she acted after the grooming experience. I'd do myself a favor and stay out of this place. read more

We boarded our 7 month old puppy for one night, her first night away from home. We were assured from the Ruff Housing website that they provided "bedtime snacks, comfortable cot, blankets if needed, and all our attention and love! We also use frozen peanut butter kongs, and lick mats if any of our pups are anxious or stressed in their bedroom." We watched her on the webcam for hours while she howled, cried, paced circles in her room, scratched at the door, and stood up on her back legs at the door - we had never seen her in so much distress. Not once did any employee come by to pet her for a moment or give her even a little attention. We had made sure to specify in our booking request that she would probably have some anxiety, this being her first night away from us, and from their website description expected them have some compassion for this and to pay at least some attention to her. She was crying/howling every time we looked in on her. We saw someone slide a new water bowl in around 1:30am but otherwise zero sign of human life. I would be surprised if she slept for more than 30 minutes. We picked her up as soon as they opened (still pacing and crying on the webcam). We will never be returning to Ruff Housing, for daycare, boarding or anything else. Please avoid at least the Witt St location if you're looking for compassionate care for your dog. read more

Everything started off well with a thorough tour by Evan. He did a great job answering my questions. I scheduled orientation and arrived with Moses as scheduled. Evan has told me he did the orientations. I was surprised to learn he wouldn't be doing the orientation when I arrived. Mikey was scheduled to do his orientation and asked if he had been to any other daycares. I said yes, he's been to Bark Lodge. Mikey said, oh, we take their trash. she then slapped her own arm and said oops, I shouldn't have said that. I should have left then. I was told she would call me around noon as his orientation would be done by then. I received no call and when I tried to call, the phone wasn't answered. We logged on to the webcam - never saw our dog. However we did see staff walking around looking at their phones and not paying attention to the dogs. One dog went to a staff member and the door four times. Finally the dog pooped by the door. When I picked up Moses and expressed concern I was brushed off. Mikey called within 5 minutes, apologized and recommended we bring him back and put him in the enrichment program. I wanted to give them the benefit of a doubt as I do understand sometimes it's just an off day. It would take me too much time to outline the terrible experience he had his first day of enrichment. I chose to go in the next day and speak with the staff. What a mistake. They would say one thing and when you showed that their marketing material contradicted this, they brushed it off but said you should know specific things because their website and brochure outline it. I pushed a bit and was told there were notes about his day in the computer. I said great, print the notes out. The person left the front desk to get the printout or so I thought. She came back and said there aren't any notes entered. She then admitted he had been out of his room twice throughout the day and remained isolated the balance of the day. Bottom line for me - they do a good job selling the facility but don't deliver. We have gone back to the place they mocked, met with the owner and are thrilled with the service we receive and care he receives. He loves to go to his new day care and has thrived. He never had to be placed in an enrichment program due to anxiety around other dogs like Ruff Housing said was needed. He has thrived and is well adjusted without any special program such as recommended. Ruff Housing may have webcams, private rooms and some other perks but they do not seem to truly care about the animals or the owners. They are more expensive which I don't mind if they delivered on what they market. read more

I like this place. I don't love this place. I can't quite put my finger on it. I will use it again but maybe its just that I think its not the perfect fit for my dog but here is my assessment: PRO's: - convenient, flexible pick-up/drop-off especially their late pick-ups which last until 9pm!! - great location near WFUBMC - extra nice facility with segregated areas for small, med and large dogs--both inside and outside - doggy web-cam to check-in on what your dog is doing while she/he is there - they offer the coolest thing for overnight stays--a doggy SLUMBER party where a staff member sleeps in the common room with the dogs who all pile up--and have a slumber party--which is much nicer than being stuck in a crate alone. :) -nice, friendly staff CON's: - everything is ala carte - I found it a bit pricey and I'm not a super price-sensitive shopper example, ~$50/night for a full day/night of boarding+day care. I found their pricing model slightly complicated. - although I found the staff friendly, I didn't feel as though they were expert dog people--this is a very subtle criticism, though. - after a two day+night stay, my dog came home with an upset stomach. I'm not holding ruff housing responsible but it did affect my view of things So, remember I'm giving this place 3.5 to 4 stars. Well this is the 3rd time I've boarded, 1st 2 were ok.. this last time not so much.. 1st I never received a daily report or pictures that I have in the past, 2nd, when I picked my dog up, their were 4 employees at the counter on their phones acting as if I wasn't there. 3rd the girl just handed me my receipt, without telling me how much it was,4th my awesome trained dog was on edge from the car ride home, about 9:40pm, when my daughter went to bed, she told us Chloe had pooped in the hallway.. NEVER HAS HAPPENED, I don't have a good feeling of this place, based on my dogs actions, NOT GOING BACK!! I should of listened to the other reviews!! read more

My dog has been going here for a year now as they are really sweet to dogs. But after this last visit, I was really disappointed on how they handled my dog getting sick in their care. I had dropped my dog off on a Friday and picked her up on Monday. When I did, she was covered in mucus and looked homeless. Turns out from the vet, she had gotten conjunctivitis. Whether she had gotten it from another dog during her group play, or her allergies got out of control, the most disappointing part is that I WAS NOT contacted, letting me know there was a problem. And to make matters worst, they are all certified to recognized minor illnesses in dogs, which is one of the reasons I depended on them to take care of my dog. While this was a minor problem, I was disgruntled by the approach they had to take care of my dog, especially for the prices you pay. I would be cautious taking you dog there, while they may have a good time, can they really handle a problem when it arises for our babies? read more

My dogs love this place! When I drive down the street with them in the car, they go nuts and get really excited. They usually drag me inside the building once they jump out of the car. I have been brining my dog, Jazzy here since we moved here in 2010 and she has always loved going here, if I say "want to go play?" She goes nuts until I drop her off. I also have always only boarded her here. I like knowing that she is going to a familiar place for her own vacation when I'm on mine. I also like that I can watch her via webcam. Our second dog, Veda, has greatly benefitted from coming here as she was adopted and was very timid from her previous life. Since coming to Ruff Housing, her confidence with other dogs and people has grown. I like Ruff Housing because 1.the dogs can get a bath (or grooming) after a day of play or week of boarding. 2. The webcams 3. They really try to match up dogs play personalities, sometimes my dogs are together sometimes they are not and they are in small or medium rooms depending on what other dogs are there. 4. Was told to bring JUST a copy of rabies vaccination. When I get there just for a grooming they tell me they need ALL vaccinations. And wasn't going to go through with it because of this. They decided to make an exception this one time.. I go to pick up my dog and I could have done a better job! HORRIBLE cut! Nothing but gaps and chops all around my white poms face! I worked for this company for a few days and did not receive payment. They said I didn't put my Identification in right, then they said there were hiccups with the system. Once we fixed that issue Toni, the manager said she was getting me into payroll three different times. It's been two months and I still haven't gotten payment, every time I contact them they say they're getting me into the payroll (which is sketchy because they said they were doing that already) or they're waiting on a response. 0/10 recommend working for this facility and I will be reporting them to the department of labor. Not to mention the facility isn't very clean. The dogs pee and poo all over the playrooms which are missed by the mops and cause animals to step in it and get into their fur. read more

I know ruff housing very well, and I know people who work here, and I would never bring my dog here. First of all, they rip you off. If you are boarding your dog here and pay for a group play, if they are overbooked/understaffed, your dog will not get a full day of play. Secondly, letting your dog go here stresses them out so much. Most of the time the dogs are pooping blood or throwing up because they are so anxious. Then, when your dog is in the group plays, if there's a fight that happens with them and another dog. Both dogs continue to stay in the room most of the time. In the group plays, you can just tell most of the dogs don't enjoy it. If you want to make your dog happy and stress-free, then I suggest not putting them here. Using a website like Rover.com is so much better for them. You can choose to board them or have someone come housesit, so they are in a familiar place. Not only that, but you can request walks and drop-in visits. (ALSO ITS SO MUCH CHEAPER!!!) In my experience, the dogs are much more behaved and relaxed by using Rover.com. This place is okay. My dog loves it but the prices and hours of availability for grooming means we will probably try out a few places in greensboro that are cheaper next time. The pros -My dog loves it. The web cam, when I see my dog's tail wagging, I know I'm getting my money's worth The negatives -The price, similar places in greensboro are cheaper. We go through greensboro on our way out of town so next time we will try them. Ruff housing will say they are the same price but only offer 1/2 day daycare for boarding for that price - means your dog spends an extra 6 hours alone ina crate here at ruff housing versus the places in greensboro. -The web cam is down a lot, makes me question if I really am getting my money's worth. Web cams are so cheap these days, really isn't an excuse -My dog comes back smelly and we have to give him a bath when he gets back. We try to schedule a bath with them but they have terrible hours for grooming. The so so My dog is now scared of white dogs with bull dog/pit bull faces after a stay at ruff housing. This probably isn't their fault but good to know there is a downside to keeping your pet in a play group environment. read more

Normally I'm very happy with this company today was very very very disappointed. I had called and got a quote and make sure everything was fine and confirmed everything and they quoted me one price of 97 some dollars. I get there to pick my dog's up and it's $197. Very disappointed, very upset and probably will never come back to this location again very poor. If you're going to give an estimate then give the estimate correctly and don't double my bill. So I then get home and see my dog's brand new rabies tag that looks like a gorilla has been chewing on it. I been called to complain or ask what's going on and they tell me that it's no big deal that dogs chew on each other all the time and it's just the way it goes. I have raised many dogs and I've raised many large dogs, and I wish I could post a picture so they can see this but truly makes me feel very uncomfortable to know that my dog is being bitten this hard and it's bending a quarter inch thick piece of metal that's how hard they are bitting. The manager just simply says it's okay no big deal, this is just the way dogs play. Very disappointed with the care in this place. Country Club location was awesome and treated me well. I transferred here and it was the biggest mistake, I will never do it again. read more

My dog loves this place! I am fan that you can pretty much drop your dog off at any time, they take great care of your pet while you are away and make sure they are fed, given medications etc. Best of all, it's a safe place for your dog to play as they have staff walking around constantly making sure to break up any fights and all dogs have to be on their latest shots. And they have inside and outside play areas to give dogs rest during the hotter months. I love that you can get your a bath/grooming for your dog on-site. It's really nice to come back from out-of-town and have dog smelling great when you come pick t hem up. My only negative is that it can be a bit pricey and the webcam is pretty bad quality... they can afford an upgrade i think. But overall a good service for the money. Make sure you call ahead to setup a reservation as they fill up quickly on big holidays. read more

Unfortunately our experience at Ruff Housing was not the best. I was truly impressed with them when I initially contacted them, with their website, the easiness of booking services and their reviews. However, all they promised was not delivered. We are in Winston Salem to drop of our child at Wake Forest University and wanted to travel with our dog. It was then that I found Ruff Housing online. After reviewing their information, services and reviews I thought it would be a great place to bring our newly adopted dog for a day while we were moving-in our child into school. They told me that since it was his first visit, they would do an orientation and that at the end of the orientation they would give me a call to give me some feedback. I NEVER got a call. Also, we dropped him off with his dinner. When we picked him up, we got the same food we had dropped him with - they never fed him! Furthermore, the dog smelled, like if he was not let out to pee. I am very disappointed with their services and will not be returning. I would not recommend this place for your pets. read more

While looking at the webcam I saw an attendant grab my dog by the scruff of the neck and drag her through a gate. My dog was scared! I immediately went and picked her up. The manager reviewed the tape and said "I can see why you would think that's what happened but it didn't happen." I said "then how did my dog get through the gate?" "Well, uh, she......look I'm not going to argue with you. You can close out your account." I know what I saw and no apology or assurances that it wouldn't happen again were offered. Very unprofessional. I will never take my dog to "Rough Housing" again. At least two of the staff members need guidance on how to handle dogs and patrons. read more

When we moved from the Raleigh-Durham area, I wondered if I would ever find a kennel that would care for my special needs dog as well as the one we used there. Imagine my delight when I found Ruff Housing to be not only equal, but better! Our Aussie is almost 13 years old and has degenerative myelopathy. She has a hard time getting around, but she's very sociable and happy and loves being with other dogs. In fact, the exposure seems to help her symptoms. She must have round-the-clock supervision since sometimes she has trouble getting from sitting to standing. Ruff Housing's 24/7 attendance is perfect. She eats only prescription food and takes medication twice a day. The folks at Ruff Housing are more than happy to accomodate her needs, and there's no extra charge for giving meds and special food. The pricing is great. We paid at least a third more in Durham, with extra costs for both the meds and the food and with a much shorter play time. Every time I pay, I want to ask if I was charged enough! That doesn't happen in many places! Those who work at Ruff Housing seem to truly care about our dog's comfort and happiness, and she is thrilled to arrive. They suggested that they split up her play time between mornings and afternoons since full-time play tires her out too much. It has worked perfectly. The facilities are immaculate and always clean-smelling. The employees are friendly, and though I'm sure they love each all their clients, they make us feel that our dog is the best yet! I wouldn't hesitate to leave her with them. We'll be getting a new Aussie pup soon, and when she's big enough, she'll be a Ruff Housing dog, too. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more
