Visited The Grosvenor Cafe a few days ago with my wife and daughter before taking her to the cinema. I visited a couple of times in the last few months, but this time, our third visit, was a severe disappointment. Our waiter, a bespectacled young man, seemed to know very little about the main courses, and seemed awfully rushed, uncommonly rude and dismissive, so we opted for two fish and chips, just to play it safe. We waited a long time for our drinks, even though there were only around five other tables in the whole place. When we finished our mains, our waiter gathered the plates and was gone before we had a chance to order an ice cream sundae for our daughter. After waiting ages for him to return, we decided to leave as our movie was starting, and had to chase down another waitress, a lovely young dark-haired girl, for our bill, as our waiter was nowhere to be seen and our film was starting. It then took a further five minutes just to get our discount added to the bill (2 for 1 with cinema tickets). The food was decent, but we won't be returning, which is a shame because we had such a lovely time during our last visit. read more
