The doctors here are good, but the process of having an eye exam is torture because of how long it takes between steps. The patient is shuttled between one room and another for various parts of the exam, and it takes well over 90 minutes because they book simultaneous patients with the same doctor and technicians. Forget about trying to squeeze in an appointment on your lunch hour. My 18 year old daughter went for a routine eye exam without me for the first time and they forced her to have her eyes dilated. On what planet does a healthy 18-year-old require dilation? The Mayo Clinic recommends it for patients over 60! Also, last year one of the opticians talked me into buying glasses that I disliked because she thought I shouldn't get the same color frames as my sunglasses. Really? They did replace those for free when I complained, but what a waste of time and money! read more

The sales person for glasses is awful. Girl was rude and couldn't be bothered. Note was left for her to call patient. After calling to find out why she hasn't called in two days she said it was the patients fault. Will be looking for a new eye doctor for next year. read more

Poor, aggressive service. Mandatory sign in process to browse for clip on sunglasses. They harass you for your contact information until you want to leave. They must be deparate for business so they can contact you after. Look elswmewhere. It is similar to The Groton Dental Group - both try to scam you! read more

Absolutely the worst. after two hours of exams my wife finally received her prescription for glasses, finding the glasses there way to expensive. We went to another provider of frames and discovered the prescription did not make sense. After 3 phone calls they finally admitted that the prescription was wrong and they would fax the correct prescription to our new provider. Again, it took another 3 calls over the course of 3 hours to receive the fax. During that process, the staff actually hung up on us, while we were asking for the fax. Very disappointed in my customer satisfaction treatment. I ordered two pair of glasses and you pay during the order so if they come in not to your satisfaction then you're out of luck! I was told after I asked to refund the glasses due to them not being helpful to me that there is a no return policy that I was not told during order process. I'm now out 600.00 so do your homework there are plenty of other eye care places that much better customer service and willing to make sure your satisfied. read more

I can't say enough good things about this office the professionalism and positive attitudes and the way they interact with there patients go to the next level. Then when your done and you go to the optical shop you must see Adam he has helped ever family member out and gives his honest feedback and if it doesn't look good then he will tell you. He goes over the pricing with and with out insurance and explains the benefits of everything that he is putting you in. Any friends and family will be sent to Adam, the interaction that he has with his patients is a different level that you don't find anymore. Hope he doesn't leave that office any time soon. read more

My wife has been a patient, so I can't comment on the quality of the medical staff. However, I agree with Cassandra's review that their billing staff is AWFUL. The first time my wife went for an eye exam (2015, I think), they coded it as an office visit, instead of an exam. So, our insurance company paid much less than they would have if it were coded as an eye exam. When I called Groton Eye Care, the billing person had the audacity to tell me that my wife had scheduled an office visit, not an exam. Even if my wife had done that (which she didn't), it was obvious what procedures were performed and that it was an exam, so the billing staff should have adjusted accordingly. It took me four months of wrangling with Groton Eye Center and our insurance company to get this sorted out. Assuming that it was a one-time misunderstanding, my wife went back for another exam this past June (2017). She paid the charges for her new glasses (expensive, to say the least) that day. Just the other day (January 2018), I received a bill from Groton Eye Care for the exam way back in June. And, it appears they didn't code things exactly right this time, either, because our insurance company covered much less for her exam than they did for mine (at another optometrist). This time, I don't have the energy to fight with Groton Eye Care again. Instead, I paid the bill and then asked my wife to find another optometrist and NEVER go back to these people. read more

Dr Adrian has always been a favorite eye dr. For the last couple of years the service has suffered, prices and wait have gone up. The billing staff seemed ignorant of insurance practices and didn't know how to bill our insurance nor how to find out what it covered. We always feel pressured to purchase glasses even when we don't need them. I had to ask four times before they would provide me with a print out of my prescription. Dr Adrian is so backed up with appointments that the wait is nearly 6 months. Last time I saw another dr in the practice who wrongly prescribed bifocals. After weeks of headaches, a visit to lens crafters (because I couldn't get a timely appointment at my own Dr) confirmed that I don't need them. After this I said I'd only see Dr Adrian. Dr Adrian no longer does his exams. A tech did the exam this last time and then I waited nearly 40 mins for the Dr to come in and say hello. The price was not less and I was billed for a doctor's exam. If I pay for a doctor's service, I should receive a doctor's service. Unfortunately this is the last straw for our family. There are other choices in the area. read more

I love my new glasses from Groton Eye Center! The doctor did a complete eye exam and then I picked out a really stylish pair of frames. I had my new glasses in about a week! Everyone there is so friendly and helpful! I am getting so many compliments on the frames they helped me pick out! read more

Dr.Kevin Cranmer performed my cataract surgery.He is wonderful.Very low key and very knowledgeable.My husband is going to him now for regular visits and is happy with him too. Let me preface this by saying that the doctor is great and friendly. My issue is entirely with the billing staff. Staff claims they tried to bill me in August of 2014 for a service rendered, but I received no notice of it until December of 2015, at which point it is past timely filing. I told the woman at the time I found it odd (I called to confirm at first, because of the length of time that went by, I thought it was a scam trying to get my credit card info). She claims that they sent me several letters and called several times. I received no letters, nor had I moved, and our answering machine had had no messages, nor had any of my family received calls. Called my insurance and they were NEVER billed. I then called this office back, and they tried to claim they spoke with my insurance, which my insurance had no record of. Lady straight up lied to my face then, saying she spoke to them when she did not, also claimed to have left a message with "someone in my house" the same day she claimed to have called insurance, which was impossible, seeing as how the only people in the house was myself and my then 2 1/2 year old, and I received no calls. Someone in the office let slip they billed to Blue Cross Blue Shield of CT when I spoke to them, when I had BCBS of RI, which is probably why that bill did not go through - they sent it to the wrong provider! Now, when I first arrived, I HANDED THEM MY CARD at the front desk. If the receptionist enters in the number wrong, or doesn't read the card and ASSUMES that it is CT when it is RI, that is not my fault. What it appears to me is that someone made a mistake and didn't want to admit it, and tried to cover it up, which is why I received no notice until late after the fact. This bill went to collections and I have heard nothing for awhile, and now it comes back again. I will pay it, but I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and recommend that NO ONE go here, unless you want to babysit the front desk staff to make sure they are billing your insurance correctly. I don't know about you, but I don't have time for that. Shame, because as I said, Dr. Adrian is great. read more
