I highly recommend this place for any eye problems you may have. I have gone here many times over the last 15 years, to both the Norwich and Groton offices, for glasses, annual checkups, and eye issues. At both offices, the staff, technicians, optometrists, and ophthalmologists have all been pleasant, efficient, and very attentive to my needs. The quality of care here, across all areas, is very high. I recently had cataract surgery with Dr Anish Shah, and I could not have asked for a better experience. Dr Shah was very knowledgeable, efficient, and personable. He answered all my questions (including ones I didn't think to ask) and he has a good sense of humor. The surgical coordinator, Stephanie Hyde, was also wonderful to work with. read more

I have been going to that group for approximately 25 years. Things have changed over the years, and not in a good way. I tolerated the wait time of at least 30 minutes before going to the room to wait, or the second waiting area where I have waited an additional 30 minutes only to go to the exam room and wait an additional 15 minutes just to have Dr Shah walk in the exam room. I recently had eyelid surgery and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. It was worse than my two rotator cuff repairs. I felt every stick of the needle and the scalpel slicing my skin. I was brought to the recovery room screaming and terrified and that's how I was discharged minutes later. Yes, I complained. No one cared at all. I would highly recommend staying clear of this practice. Needles to say, I have scheduled elsewhere. read more

Called for an eye exam and was told I have to wait six months. I also did not reach a real person to speak to for three days of trying.

Botched (i.e. overcorrected) my PRK surgery; DO NOT RECOMMEND. They offer to "touch it up". I sought two second opinions; my eye doctor said DO NOT do that. So, not only did they screw up my eyes once, but they offered to do more damage. Avoid at all costs. read more

Had eye surgery a few years ago and my experience with the practitioner was so unprofessional. Not what I expected and as far as I'm concerned a failure. I asked to have follow up with another and they would not allow. So I never got my follow up and certainly was not go in a room with him. Shame on you Norwich Ophthalmology for allowing such practices allowed. I hope this review helps even one person. read more

Great experience with Norwich Ophthalmology! Had an eye emergency, & they were able to get me into the office immediately. There was no wait, and I was seen right away. Dr. Kothari is excellent -- she was very caring and quick to help. I felt confident knowing that I was in good hands and am so grateful to have been seen quickly given the situation. Great service! I had Lasik at the Norwich office, Dr Cranmer was the best! He made me feel comfortable during the procedure and followed up with me during my recovery. He also is my son's doctor, I was afraid the office would not be good for kids by the Dr. was great so was the staff. I highly recommend them. read more
