I got a large with ham, onions, and black olives. The pizza was super salty, even though I put nothing on it. Completely unremarkable. The only good thing was service was quick and friendly. I was there at 8:00 and the place was virtually empty for "open mic night". Quality continues to decline; go elsewhere. Let me begin by telling you that I have been a patron of this Grotto Pizza for more than 55 years. I have patronized all 3 of their locations in Pennsylvania. I have noticed that the quality of service and product has been declining for some time. I was hopeful that things would change. But alas, it has not. Today, Friday evening, July 11, 2025, I placed an order for their Sicilian tray with onions. I was told to come in 20 minutes. When I arrived on time, there were numerous customers waiting for their orders. After about 45 minutes, I was able to receive my order. Got home and discovered that the pie had no onions. I had not received any receipt for my order. I, and my family, have enjoyed Grotto Pizza over the years. But it is no longer what it used to be. It may be the only pizza place at Harvey's Lake, but I reluctantly say go elsewhere. Unfortunately, the quality of life in America is also declining. read more

Ate at the Harvey's lake location Saturday 7/12/25. First time in a year thought we would try it since the last time we were there we left because we were seated but after 20 minutes no waitress came to our table to take our order. Service wasn't bad this time but the pizza was not worth the drive from the valley. Pizza burnt, dry bubbly, cheese or sauce did not coat entire slices of pizza. Overall restaurant is rather dismal with no sparkle or bright atmosphere, far from what it use to be. Better off going to any local pizza place where there is attention to the pizza and food being served. I met a few friends here for a late lunch around 3 pm on a Sunday. It wasn't too busy. This was my first time at this particular location and I mistakenly parked in the take-out parking lot, but you can get to the dining room through the arcade. Four of us were seated immediately and provided with menus, but it took quite a few minutes before we were acknowledged by a server. Once she finally came to our table, we placed our drink orders. When she returned with drinks, we placed app orders. We ordered three to share: Buffalo Chicken Dip, Bruschetta and Nachos. The Buffalo Chicken Dip is very good, not too spicy, and it comes with soft, warm, pita type triangles--it was my favorite. The bruschetta was also very good. I didn't try the nachos but they were huge! By the time my food came, I was filled up on apps and my side salad, but I had to take at least one bite since it looked pretty good. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan dinner and the chicken, although small, was perfectly fried and had a good flavor. The spaghetti/sauce was very bland, as I typically find with most chicken parm dinners. I took the rest home to my significant other and he seemed to enjoy it, but he's not that hard to please :) Just a note that I don't like their pizza here -- just not my thing, but other food I've gotten here is pretty good. I do recommend and hopefully you have better service than we did! Only three stars because service was very spotty. We really love to patron the places we loved when we lived up there. Like Most Grotto experiences in the valley over the past few years the quality of the products have gone way down. Sweet sauce pizza is very good. If you go to the bar, female bartenders aren't very pleasant but servers are attentive. They do have bands on the weekends. Terrible customer service. It started with me pre-ordering pizza and fries to be ready for me to eat in the arcade room. They told us 20 minutes, and then when we got there we noticed they forgot about our order and didn't seem to care that much. I sat in one of the booths and it was very dirty, there were crumbs on the table and the seats were dirty, ripped, and hard like a rock. I played one of the arcade claw machines for $1 and got ripped, it was such a scam. Ended up waiting for another 30 minutes, talked to the cashier twice and she said the order was coming. After I noticed the fries were $9, I ended up leaving after 1 hour since I first placed the order and was totally disgusted. After, I went to McDonald's and got a very good meal. The medium fries at McDonald's we're free with a minimum purchase of $1 with the McDonald's App. Don't waste your time at Grottos Pizza in Harveys Lake. read more

Waiter didn't come up to our table after like 15 minutes of waiting, everyone at my table said the food tasted like shit and why is blue cheese and ranch 5 dollars for the smallest cup ever?? Erin came to give us our food and she was so rude she just slammed the food down and just named what we ordered and stormed off. The total was 82 dollars. 4 cups of soda was 12 dollars all together which is way overpriced and it tasted like absolute genuine garbage. Located near beautiful Harvey Lake but mehhhh of a restaurant. The pizza was mediocre and came out pretty cold (considering it was made "fresh"). We had to send it back to be put back in the oven for a minute to heat up. Their version of the buffalo chicken dip was also awful and weird - very soupy and not very spicy. I don't know why this place only has 3 stars. It is by far one of our favorite pizza joints including pizza places in NYC. We haven't had good luck with the desserts, but pizzas and wings rock at this place. My husband loves "the Works", but we have tried almost every single specialty pizza on their menu and even built our own pizza and they have always been good. Typical pizza place, however I took a couple stars off mainly because of the service. I don't remember the name of our waitress but we had to pull teeth to get her attention or ask for refills on our drinks. And even the Bill took over 20 minutes to get to us. The pizza itself wasn't bad at all, however do not get pasta as it wasn't very good. If it's a pizza restaurant you should probably just stick to getting pizza. The dessert (I forget the name) that was cinnamon coated and had gelato on top was really good... I'd probably get that again (probably Bc I have a terrible sweet tooth lol) Regardless, not a bad place to grab food especially since it's right next to the lake. Their Buffalo wings have many different choices of sauce, and are quite tasty; their salads are made with very fresh ingredients and they offer many dressing choices. Every time I come (and I get a lot of pizza!) there's something that seems to be a problem. Tonight- 4 pies ordered for a party, came to pick them up when told- only three ready. After a few minutes, the one that was just coming out apparently went wrong in someway so while my three were getting cold and I was waiting for the fourth they now informed me I'd have to wait another 10 minutes for them to remake the fourth. Watch them make the pizza, first, half a handful of mass produced shredded (shit) mozzarella .... Then. Yellow. Shredded. Cheese. Perhaps it's an American-cheese-like-mix. I don't care. The cheese on this pizza will send you on the vom-train if you, like me, do not care for american cheese .... on pizza. The location on the lake is always fun, especially in the summer. And they are great with kids. But you know you've entered the twilight zone when you go to the bar and, the same bartenders who kicked you out when you were under-age trying to get a drink (18 years old) are still working there, and these are also the same bartenders and managers who were around when you PERSONALLY worked there (16 years old)... that was 10 years ago. I love grotto food. But the service is terrible. 20 minutes for drinks. Asking for stuff numerous times... Over an hour for food. And I wouldn't write this review if it didn't happen every time I came here. I love the lake and come here often and everytime it's the same. Grotto needs more servers and a better system. Legit not kidding. I wrote this review when we got here at 6:15 after not receiving drinks or a waitress for about 20 minutes. It's now 8:00. We just got our food and are now waiting on the check. How has no one written a review of the ORIGINAL Grotto Pizza at the Lake yet? Wow, I feel pretty special. This place is a total local landmark. Dating back into the 1960's when my parents used to go dances out at Harvey's Lake and get pizza at Joe's Grotto until there was a bad fire, this place has been a Back Mountain institution forever. First, the pizza - wow, definitely my favorite thin crust option in the Back Mountain. Really, really consistent with a great ratio of sauce and tasty cheese with a really crisp, delicious crust. If you are feeling more adventurous, the white pizzas are also really good (including the white shrimp scampi pizza...mmm!) although they are pretty heavy on the garlic. The wings are right up there with the best in the area. Delivery is great and convenient. Finally, the sportsbar at the Grotto in Harvey's Lake is a great place to catch up with some friends, have some food and Yuenglings, and watch a good game. On two other notes I think Grotto is pretty special. First, you absolutely must go during the Holiday season. They have local businesses sponsor specialty decorated Christmas trees in really ornate over the top fashion and restaurant diners donate money for the best trees and the proceeds go to some really amazing charities. Not only is that a good cause, but after you finish off your pizzas, it is really awesome to walk around the restaurant and see like 40 amazingly decorated Christmas trees. The final awesome thing about Grotto is the boat slips that they have out back for parking. There is nothing better than having been on the lake all day tubing or fishing or water skiing, breaking out your cell phone and calling in a takeout order and driving your boat over a 15 minutes later to have a pier-side picnic or walking in and having a nice break from the sun.
