I brought it in to Haseleu's Transmission, and they ended up recommending I have Ward's diagnose the issue--as at first appearances it seemed to be an issue more on the electrical side. I brought it in to Ward's, and they were able to carefully track down the issue. Once they figured it out they carefully explained the issue so that I understood the problem and then their recommended plan of action. At that point they did not pressure me at all, but told me if at all uncertain about what way to proceed to not rush it and to take some time to think about it before deciding what to do. They wanted me confident and satisfied in the decision before making it and were fine discussing and researching different possibilities. Then, when an unexpected family emergency came up with one of their founders and they needed to pass the work back to Haseleu's to actually do they completely and absolutely refused to charge me for all the diagnostic work and time spent explaining things. When's the last time you felt you owed a mechanic something and he wouldn't take it? There are some first rate people and techicians there with integrity. Their warranty is also unparalleled... I plan to go back there for anything out of my do-it-yourself skill range, and would encourage you to do so as well.

Shameful Experience -- Please Read Before Going Here!!!…read more I brought my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overlander to Spencer's Auto & Diesel Repair in Ocala for what seemed like a minor heating issue. The vehicle had never overheated before, but they diagnosed and replaced the water pump, then claimed the radiator had a hairline crack and the thermostat should be replaced "just to be safe." They charged me over $2,700, which I had to put on my mother's credit card because I couldn't afford it on my own -- I'm a single working mom of two and a full-time nursing student. After driving the vehicle less than a week and only 200 miles, the check engine light came on for the first time ever and the vehicle began truly overheating. I brought it back, and they told me that coolant had entered the engine and the entire engine now had to be replaced -- for $9,000 with the shop acting like it was a favor to cover part of the labor. What really crossed the line is that the owner offered me a "temporary fix" so I could get rid of the vehicle -- essentially suggesting I pass the problem off to someone else before it blows up. I was shocked and disgusted. That's not just unprofessional -- that's unethical. I would never put another family in danger or financial ruin just to cover up a repair shop's mistake. This place took my only vehicle, made it worse, and left me stuck. They need to be held accountable for their practices. I'm filing a formal complaint with the Florida Attorney General's Office and the BBB. If you value your vehicle and your money -- go somewhere else.
