Would recommend to anyone! We have an older home that needed a much needed overhaul of the foundation. We sourced 2 organizations for quotes, but selected Ground Up based on Jamie's evaluation of the property, scope of work, and engineer recommendation. No one wants to have to revamp a foundation, but working with Ground Up was relieving. The crew worked on the home for about 2 weeks and were professional and courteous. Everything detailed in the initial quote was addressed. It was not disruptive and our family easily was able to continue living in the home during the scheduled work. At the end of the project, the foreman walked me through the entire crawlspace to give me a really good explanation of the issues they remediated. I hope no one has to deal with a foundation issue on their home, but if you do, I would highly recommend Jamie and Ground Up. read more

We decided we needed to tackle the water issues in the basement of our century old home (unfinished, dirt dug out basement), as we ultimately wanted to be able to use the space as a work shop, but it flooded nearly every time it rained! Had numerous companies come out ranging from small time handymen up to national chains, had a variety of plans proposed. Ground Up's plans were the most comprehensive and they actually solved the problems, instead of just putting band-aid on issue. It was a major undertaking: we opted to dig basement floor down deeper, replace all 12 support posts in basement, move sump pump, and install three different drainage systems (we live on springs), but in the end- our basement is FINALLY DRY! We have had several storms since the work, and we have held our breath waiting to ensure nothing seeps in, but it has not. Also, with the replacing the posts, they were able to upgrade materials & optimize placement to provide us with much more usable space. The Ground Up team was great from beginning to end, the initial project manager did a thorough inspection of property, gave us all options, and helped us decide which ones to prioritize, and which ones would could be DIY or just put on back burner. We appreciated the honesty and help. The team that did the work was fantastic, they worked through horrible rain and mud conditions. Things were cleaned up at the end of each day, and at the end of the project. Overall we are so pleased with the work and so glad we went with Ground Up - they are big enough of a company that they are capable of major residential foundation repairs, but still small enough to answer phone calls & emails and take time to explain things to you. We now have a dry space for a workshop- and also a solid foundation that will last another 100+ years. read more

Had Ground Up come out to raise and level a sunken front porch with their Poly Foam system. They had to run the pipe from the end of the driveway to the house due to a rickety bridge. The crew ,Brandon and Dalton, showed up on time, worked cautiously and did a tremendous job. We thought that we would not get a good lift due to some foundation cracks in the porch, but they worked methodically to slowly raise the porch and even filled the cracks that were previously made by settling. They did a great job on the clean up and we are very pleased with their work. We will be calling them in the spring to give a bid on some crawlspace work based off the excellent work on the porch. If I had one suggestion, it looked as if they could have used more up to date tools on this particular job, but other than that A+. read more

I had Ground Up raise a slab at our front door because water pooled at the entrance. It continued to pool, so I asked them to come by and take another look at it. Johnny Sera came over and saw the water and said they'd take care of it. Brandon came out and raised the slab higher, and when water still collected, he suggested adding two drains by cutting the cement. The repair is hardly noticeable, even the drains. It rained tonight, and the water did not collect. Ground Up said they stand behind their work and they do. I am very happy with their service. read more

We're going to have to give Ground Up a one star (I'd give them a negative if I had an option) for the project they did at our home. The guys that came out and did the work on our home worked very hard considering they didn't have proper tools. We had our downspouts extended underneath our sidewalk and two of the guys had to hand dig the dirt/red clay out with a shovel that was broken (in late July). These guys didn't even complain... I gave them ice for their water cooler and we all had popsicles to take a break from the unbearable heat. We also had the foam put into our porch and driveway to raise it up, but the cleanup or finished job was very untidy to say the least. I'm not happy with the end result at all. I'm not expecting it to look like a new driveway, but I did want it to look decent. I don't reccomend this company at all. I am Not happy at all and I'm so sorry that I waisted our hard earned money on shotty work. read more

Ground Up Builders installed 10 new posts and 2 steal beams to fix some foundation issues in our recently purchased home. Being new to the area and unfamiliar with foundation repair in general, I was quite cautious about hiring a company to do this job. We were referred to Ground Up Builders by a general contractor we had worked with during our pre-purchase inspection and had great things to say about them. John came out for our initial consult and spent ample time doing a complete walk through inside, outside and under our home. Besides the apparent foundation issues we also had some standing water under our house and our inspection stated we might need a french drain installed. Since it wasn't raining and he couldn't determine the source of the water, John suggested we make some configuration changes to our existing drainage and monitor the situation for improvement before we move forward with an expensive french drain. Being a first time homeowner this was extremely appreciated feedback, he could have easily taken advantage of the situation and had us jump the gun on a potentially unnecessary repair. The team that came out to do the work did a great job communicating what they were doing and showed me the improvements inside the house as they adjusted the posts to fix the sloped floors. I'm the type of person that likes to inspect everything and they didn't hesitate to give me a tour of the crawl space and answer all of my question about the completed project. During the final walk through they discovered that there was a span that was somehow missed in the original scope of work that needed some additional support. Due to the mix up, the owner Jim personally came out to my home the following week with the same crew and did the remaining work. He wanted to ensure my expectations were met and I was 100% satisfied, so he did the extra work for a very fair price and made the situation right. I'm happy with the completed job and even more satisfied with the honest communication throughout the entire process. If we decide a french drain is needed, we'll be calling Ground Up Builders to do the job. If you're looking for a company that genuinely cares about their customers and doing the job right, I definitely recommend this one! read more

This company made me wait 3 weeks for an appointment because they were so busy. When the appointment time came they tried to reschedule because there was a threat of some possible bad weather and they wanted to get home. Basically he wanted to knock off early that day. After calling and getting a supervisor on the phone that said he understood but too bad. The contractor then called to go ahead and come back. I said fine- I was curious about the estimate cost. He then proceeded to stand me up without notifying me and when 2 hours later he was contacted said- oh, they told me at office not to come because you were too upset. UH YEAH- because you are unprofessional! Fast forward and they send me a quote for a project with my address and it's not even my home or the project I was wanting. Someone else's bid came to me! I would RUN as fast as I could from this company. They are unprofessional, lazy and obviously don't have a clue what is going on! I can't imagine the work they do! read more
