Chose Grounded Bodyworks based on Yelp reviews. Very glad I did. It's a tad more expensive than my previous Palm Springs pedi place but well worth it. Lovely location in Old Las Palmas. Great building. Was greeted and asked to wait. Jen, the owner was there and offered me coffee, tea, and water. Oh! And unlimited hugs. It was sweet. Kim was my technician and she is actually more like an artist. She gave me the best pedicure I've had in years. The foot and leg massage was terrific. She shaped my nails beautifully. We had a little miscommunication about the color for my nails, but it was resolved quickly and my toes look superb. I hope to be able to come back regularly. I was on vacation last week in Palm Desert to celebrate my birthday with family and friends. I looked this place up online and booked a facial. The facial was great. When I checked out, it turned out that the owner of the Spa was able to help me. We talked for over a half hour about businesses, etc. I told her that my sister really wanted a massage and I would like to get one for my birthday. She said well what about coming back on Monday we had a Birthday brunch booked with a bunch of people, but I was able to just fit in the massage. My sister and I showed up 9 o'clock in the morning to receive our massages in the Owner looked at me as if she had never met me before she said, oh what is your name. I don't have you down for any massages, when I told her my name she said she had just let go of the confirmation without even checking with me We had text message exchanges together she gave me the price of the massage. I said OK great! booked with a bunch of people, but I was able to just fit in the massage. My sister and I showed up 9 o'clock in the morning to receive our massages the owner said, "oh what is your name" as if she never met me which was just 48 hours prior I don't have you down for any massages, when I told her my name she said she had just let go of the confirmation without even checking with me We had text message exchanges together she gave me the price of the massage. We had no way to put on our brunch clothes or get ready. We were planning on doing that at her salon after the massage was over. Wanted a massage in Palm Springs to get rid of the knots in my neck/shoulders and also to unwind. Grounded Bodyworks came highly recommended by a local barista, so we stopped by to check it out. Jenn was so friendly and welcoming! She walked us through the offerings and also available appointments for the week. I ended up texting her that evening to book a 60 minute Coachella massage for myself and a friend the same week. I love that they take COVID precautions seriously. They check your temperature, and masks are worn by staff at all times. They've also temporarily paused group and couples massages. However, you can have massages the same time as someone in your party, just not in the same room. My massage therapist was Kelly. I liked that he asked what my focus areas were at the beginning. I appreciated that he spent most of the time working on the knots in my neck and shoulders. I would've preferred the same deep tissue massage on the rest of my body, as the rest of it felt more like petting, but at least the focus areas were taken care of. Kelly is a fantastic masseuse as is Caitlyn. The owner is an amazing human as well and happy to support her business. The only reason this is a 4 star review and not 5 is my massage experience with Sarah. I'm guessing she may be new to the field because a lot my typical experience was underwhelming and frustrating at times. Multiple prompts for more pressure were not accommodated, no eye pillow when lying face up, and she generally didn't seem to be interested in doing the work. Fair enough - it's very hard work. But after my appointment with Jacinthe I was so relaxed I forgot I had a very tense morning! It's definitely worth the money compared to all the luxury spas in Indian Wells and Palm Springs.
