I've long been interested in trying out a yoga class and the beginner's workshop was the perfect way to start out. Most times I was too afraid to book a class elsewhere because all the hardcore yogis would be flowing through moves and I'd be huffing and puffing on my mat unable to figure out what was going on. That was so not the case here. Our yoga instructor, Erica (and owner of the biz), was friendly, welcoming, and helpful the entire class. We were led through a series of moves all leading up to being able to put together a sun salutation A. With Vinyasa each move "flows" through to the next and builds off of some basic poses. Per the YogaFlow website, Vinyasa yoga is a strong, athletic style of yoga that links movement to your breath. The focus on breathing was more relaxing than I had anticipated. I left class feeling both energized and calm. It was wonderful. The beginner's workshop lasted the full two hours but it felt like no time at all. Very much looking forward to my next class. Some notes: -Bring your own mat, water, and a towel. -They provide yoga props (blankets, blocks). -To get to the studio enter the building at 5320 Hoag Drive (park behind the building), enter Dr. Michael Seng's office and turn right, then head up the stairs to the loft. -Try not to eat before class (you probably wouldn't feel so great if you do). -Don't wear super loose baggy clothes, they will get in the way. -Various level classes are available throughout the week, check the website for details.

We use hand weights , magic ring, ball, roller, chair, no props and do floor exercises for overall body toning and strengthening. Everyone is at a different level, everyone's body is different and she's excellent with coaching us to work by listening to our bodies. I was a gym member for 30* years. My body is in better shape with 2 years of Pilates then I ever achieved at the gym. I'm NOT giving medical advice however Pilates is a lifestyle for me to maintain flexibility and minimize pain in my legs. Classes are held outdoor on the huge yoga deck in good weather, and the view from the newly-built spacious indoor studio is breathtaking, with a view of the pond, woods, and birds. I looked no farther Half Moon Yoga, adorably located on Medina Square. The price was right for what I needed ($14 for a week unlimited pass). The studio space is no-frills but perfectly adequate. Class size is small. The real gem is Owner/Instructor Joanie. She's hands-on, extremely knowledgeable (all poses are called out by their Sanskrit names), and you're sure to listen to a killer soundtrack including The Boss! I had the best Savasana in recent memory here: Joanie rubs scented oil on every practioner's temples to encourage full relaxation. I would have given it 5 stars, but the class schedule is limited. 6:00am for power vinyasa? Yeoww! I would love to see this studio continue to grow. This is the massage you've been dreaming about…read more Seriously, I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. The location is adorable. It is located within a small house. As you walk in, you are transported. It's like taking a mini vacation. Santell is absolutely AMAZING. I did the 90 minute Breathe Deep massage and I can't say enough positive things about him and the entire experience. From the moment you walk in, his positive, calming energy prepares you for the amazing experience you are about to have. He is so welcoming and just an all-around genuinely good person. He makes sure you are comfortable beforehand: he lets you select an essential oil and even adjusts the temperature of the room if need be. During the massage, he is SO in tune with your body. This is no cookie-cutter massage. He pays close attention to the areas you indicate and he works to find the EXACT location of the pain. He does a deep stretch while he massages and he makes sure you are comfortable the entire time. I've never had a massage like it. I highly recommend him and Breathe in general!
