We simply can't leave without it. Their cappuccinos are excellent--my personal favorite is the Nutella cappuccino--and my 6-year-old always asks for their rich hot chocolate. Before leaving, we always grab a gelato to go and pick up a box of pastries for the week. Everything we've tried has been fresh, delicious, and beautifully made, and they offer a wonderful variety of classic Italian desserts. The shop itself is small and cozy, which adds to its authentic neighborhood bakery charm. Just keep in mind that there isn't a dedicated parking lot, so you'll need to find street parking--and in Little Italy, that can definitely require a little patience! If you're visiting Arthur Avenue, Delillo Pastry Shop is a stop you shouldn't skip. It's one of those places that keeps you coming back year after year.

The best treat and time for Mommy daughter and the friendly hometown Italian shop. This was also a time when women had just been given power to make choices about financial means in the household and have bank accounts in their names. The world was changing and INCLUSION was the glow on America's faces for all races. I saw Saturdays and Mommy/Daughter time to do girl things. When I brought the cake to the party it was the main attraction at the end of the night. The cake was sliced and served. Once the guest had that first bite they were taken aback at how BOMB the cake was! They said it was the perfect kind of sweet. Admittedly, I have a very high bar for rainbows, so I hold them to a high standard...and they were good, just not as flavorful/almondy as I particularly prefer. In all, Artuso is a great stop.
