Recently attempted to place an order and Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the customer service experience from one particular girl. She should work in the back and not represent that establishment. . As a customer, I had several questions before making a decision, but instead of receiving helpful and patient assistance, I felt like my questions were viewed as an inconvenience. Asking questions is a normal part of being an informed customer, and I expected to be treated with respect and professionalism. Unfortunately, the one girl seemed unwilling to provide clear answers and was very impatient and RUDE. and made me feel rushed rather than valued. Good customer service should involve listening to customers and addressing their concerns, be kind in doing so, regardless of how many questions they have. Because of this experience, I left feeling frustrated and unsupported. Word of mouth travels fast. For a service one is paying for a customer wants to feel valued. Such a wide selection of pastries, cookies, cakes, and more! I got a box of 8 pieces, amounting to roughly $16 total, so about $2/pc. Their Tiramisu was absolutely perfection. Soft, creamy, lusciously whipped mascarpone cream paired with the bitterness of the espresso-dipped ladyfingers. Amazing. The Carrot Cake was a good spiced cake, but I wasn't a fan of the icing. It was a basic white cake icing that was too sweet. The cake would've paired well with a (lime-zest) cream cheese frosting. The Red Velvet Cake also had the same white icing and would've benefited from a cream cheese frosting. I was particularly intrigued by the Strawberry Tres Leches, but it just tasted like a normal cake without much strawberry flavor. The Cream Puff and Strawberry Cheesecake were both okay--not bad, but not out of the ordinary. I did enjoy the Chocolate-Dipped Macaroon which had a good coconut flavor with an almost buttery interior. Overall, I'd recommend trying out this pastry shop. Plenty of street/meter parking here. Only a few people waiting in line. They have a few workers taking orders so the line usually move pretty fast unless someone in front of you taking a long time to pick their pastries. You can also order online and pick up as an option. They do local delivery as well! I bought a few things including mini cannoli, both chocolate and classic flavors, tiramisu, almond anisette biscotti. They are so so delicious. I never like canonli and I thought I will give it a try again. THIS place changed my mind! Everything is not too sweet, super fresh and yummy. Mini size is just right without feeling guilty. Cannolis and cookies were bomb. Our manager brought in a tray of cookies along with cannolis and cheesecake. He noted that this is a very famous pastry shop sitting at Arthur Avenue where you get authentic Italian cuisine and pastries. Uber Eats occasionally has deals in this place. I used to live in New Haven near a family-owned bakery had sfogliatelle, freshly made, every morning. I would treat myself to one every Saturday morning. The sfogliatelle you can get and bake yourself, from Artuso takes me back there every time I have one. Many other Italian dolces here, all delivered to your doorstep. Nuthin' wrong with that. Came here a few days before new years after going to the Bronx Botanic Gardens. I had never been to Artuso but picked it based on reviews and it did not disappoint. Food 5/5 - I got the cheesecake at the request of the host for my party. The cheesecake is light and airy, perfect for a post dinner party indulgence. I got an additional pound of cookies including the tricolore, the sprinkle cookies, the almond biscotti, some of the raspberry jelly cookies and two mini cheesecakes. All the cookies were gone by the end of the party and I wished I had gotten more biscotti for dipping in coffee. Service 5/5 - the girl who helped me was super patient as I chose all my cookies and gave me advice on the cheesecakes and tiramisu. I want to come back and get a tiramisu later. Ambiance 5/5 - everything inside was clean and I loved the glow up manger in the front window encapsulating the Christmas spirit. Price - $$ the cookies are an expected price per pound, similar to what I find in my NY hometown. I thought the cheesecake was actually very reasonably priced at about $23. ARTUSO SPOILS EASTER I ordered a traditional Pizza Rustica for Easter from Artuso online for $29.95, plus shipping = $34.95. I received it and opened the box revealing a very small pie which didn't bother me as ingredients, especially prosciutto are expensive. I cut a slice out of the pie. Where was the prosciutto? Nowhere. Just some tiny meat flakes spread few and far between leaving me with essential a ricotta pie. The final straw was the moisture-challenged texture of the the filling which was bereft of any type of grated cheese. I emailed the folks at Artuso and was basically told told, 'too bad'. They cheerfully declined a refund. Here's a snippet of their communication: "We regret that it didn't meet your expectations. As noted in our store policy, which is available on our website, we are unable to offer refunds for products based on individual tastes, preferences, or dislikes. We recognize that everyone's palate is different, and while many enjoy this seasonal item, we understand it may not be for everyone." The description on the site reads: " Italian meat pie". Should have been labled "Meat flavored" like any other bogus food that's trying to squeak by as the real thing. Wasn't even meat-flavored. I've had pizza rustica from bakeries everywhere. Some had lots of meat, some had little amounts. This is the first time I witnessed one with no meat. Meanwhile, it was Easter Sunday and the local bakeries were all out. I would give Artuso zero stars if I could for misrepresentation of product and perfunctory customer service. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Glad that I went when it wasn't busy! (11:30 am on a Thursday). Got a parking spot 1/2 block away! - Sfogliatella: 8/10, quite good but a touch dry. I wish the filling could have been just a little more...Pastry dough very fresh with near-perfect flakiness! I got the last few pieces left...that sounds a bit strange. - Biscotti: 8.5/10, very fresh, the almond biscotti had lovely fresh sliced nuts and very good flavor; the anisette were really very good. They're priced a bit high, but again, within competitive range. - French Napoleans: 9.5/10: really good, perfect amount of cream in the layering. Priced competitively. A definite winner! I wish they were a little larger! - Chocolate Mini-cannoli: 9/10, very creamy, maybe a bit pricey but top quality, perfect sweetness, and crunchy outside. I finally got a chance to come here after having their pastries at work functions brought by my coworkers. The pastries looked amazing (update when I try it) and the location is very bright and healthy conscious. However, the attitude the server displayed is not something that will cultivate any desires to return. Especially after hearing them snicker about another customer. There was another customer complaining to an older gentleman about the same issue. The goal of an establishment is to keep customers and bring new ones in, please work on it. Update: The Rum Baba liquid spilled in the bag destroying the boxes. The cookies box was wet too. The Baba are placed in bags and then in your box and added with other cakes. Guess what... the other cakes were wet too. Shame. Taste: I'm always in search for a good Rum Baba, and I'll keep searching. The bread is truly soggy, then the syrup is all rum, overpowering the taste of the whole dessert. The cookies were great! The big chocolate cannoli was average tasting. Not a big deal. read more

I travel all the way from brooklyn to get cookies from here they are THAT good. The service on the other hand.... the girls are rude and whisper amongst each other. It seems they are nicer to THEIR kind. We walked up to the counter and were told to take a number... so we did and waited. Other customers came in and they shouted NEXT. We said we should be next as we took a number like we were told. They whispered to each other until someone finally said what's your number we told her, they whispered to each other again and then one girl reluctantly came to service us. Any time I am in Little Italy this is the bakery I go to. It's big, and so clean. It smells delicious, and everything is as good as it looks. I take a box home for the family and it is gone in minutes. I enjoy the rainbow cookie, biscotti and the pignoli cookies. The line goes by fast. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they do not fill the cannolis fresh, the cannolis are sitting already filled in the fridge. What Happened To Artusos? The service and quality here has severely declined. I ordered and prepaid for a cake for pickup. Upon arrival and unsuccessfully asking for help/direction regarding pick up, I was met with hostility and horrible customer service. I'll talk about the quality of the cake later. I was ignored, and when I expressed frustration from the treatment, I was aggressively confronted by a number of the service girls behind the counter. These girls were rude, confrontational, disrespectful and clearly are not experienced in customer service. I was told I had to stand in line to pick up my cake even though it was already paid for. These girls were were clearly retaliating and purposefully trying to inconvenience me as they stood in solidarity like some sort of high school girl gang. I couldn't believe I was being forced to deal with this level of immaturity and disrespect. So I waited- when I got to the register, I asked to pick up my cake and I was told by the girl at the register ( she doesn't deserve the term young lady, because she didn't conduct herself as one) that I had to quote "make the line". She was there the entire time and saw me wait until it was my turn. Now I'm becoming extremely frustrated and I told her please go get my cake now so I can leave. This girl refused and told me again I had to make the line even though I waited, and everyone behind me, walked in the store after I did. I then said I'm going to leave a review for you online. Then another girl jumped in as she walked into the back and said thank you in a sarcastic tone. I then replied, you're welcome wait till you read it. Then I took a picture, and the girl in the picture began to yell and scream at me that I was not allowed to take pictures, and that they were all minors. She then told another one to go get the manager which I was more than happy to learn that there was a manager that I could share this experience with. The manager came out it was a woman, and I as I was trying to speak with her. The girl who I will post in the picture would not leave and would not allow me to speak with the manager. She was trying to argue with me. I asked her to go back and do her job and allow me to speak to this woman. She would not stop she just continue to try to argue with me and I looked at the manager and I said do you see this? I said this is unacceptable. Look at her behavior. She's doing it right in front of you now. the manager addressed my concerns and advised me if I ever had a problem to just ask for a manager. I gave her an overview of the horrible experience I had at this bakery, and I proceeded to let her know that I will be leaving a review. I will also be looking up the owners of this bakery because it's hard for me to believe that this is the same family that has been operating for so long. My family and I have been patrons of Artuso's Bakery for 50+ years, beginning with my mother in 1972 approximately. The behavior was absolutely disgusting. I also find it hard to believe that this is the same pastry shop. We once knew because the quality and taste of the cakes have drastically declined. I ordered a strawberry shortcake sheet cake for a party of 15 for a celebratory family occasion. I was extremely embarrassed when I tasted this cake. I've never tasted turpentine before, but that's the only word I could come up with to think what it must taste like to compare to the icing and frosting on this cake. I literally felt like I just ate chemicals, the taste was so horrible. The strawberries were not fresh. They tasted rancid and were thrown into the cake in huge chunks. I will never ever purchase anything from this bakery again. Even with the one bad experience, I would have gone back, but where I draw the line is what I put in my body. It has to be fresh and it has to taste good. That cake did not meet either of those standards. Whoever owns this bakery now really needs to conduct a quality concern check. Before I leave any truly negative reviews I try and contact the business first. We bought pastries to take home and although the store was basically empty except for my family and two other customers our box somehow ended up getting switched. We got home excited to enjoy our pastries only to find someone else's order. Since it was pretty late at this point I sent a message via Facebook. I really wasn't anticipating a response but I was definitely pissed and wanted to let them know. I can't tell you how completely shocked I was to get a call from Mr. Artuso himself. We happened to be about fifteen minutes away when I got the call we decided to stop in. Mr. Artuso apologized and told us to choose whatever we wanted. We only wanted to replace what we didn't get our first visit and that's all we chose. All of our pastries were amazingly fresh and delicious. I can absolutely see why this bakery has been in business for so long. I am still beyond impressed with this level of customer service.
