I've been craving chocolate-dipped cannolis for months, but resisted buying them because in my "cannoli daydream, " they are out of this world. I happened to be in the Bronx and lo and behold, Gino's appeared. Actually, my friend was shopping at the bakery a few days before while talking with me on the phone. I asked her to ask if they made cannolis because I've been craving them for months, but didn't want mediocre pastries. People, please know that Gino's is cannoli heaven, and they surpassed my expectations. They had mini cannoli, chocolate dipped cannoli, etc. I understand that they also make a killer pistachio dipped cannoli!!! Gonna try the pistachio next time for sure. In the meantime, I am glad that they are not close to home... CALORIES LOL! read more

There are many great places to go for dinner in the Bronx's Little Italy but only one place to cap off your dinner with a dessert and coffee and that would be this place. The best in cannolis, delicious stuffed donuts, terrific "that pastry I cannot pronounce or spell that starts with an SF ". Looks kind of humble inside, but you will not be disappointed. Was in the area after a nail appt and wanted something sweet. Gino's is a cozy shop with all kinds of Italian pastries. There are many pictures of patrons over the years on the walls, giving it a homelike feel. They also have a few set of tables if you wanted to sit for your visit. The man taking my order was very kind and friendly. I bought 4 mini cannoli to go. I am not new to cannolis and those were probably some of the best ones I have had in a while. The cannoli was freshly piped when ordering so you don't end up with a softened shell. The cannoli cream was flavorful, bright and not overly sweet. I think it even had a touch lemon zest to it if i I'm not mistaken; which I really enjoyed. The cannoli was finished with a light dusting of powdered sugar. Those mini cannoli did not last long once I had my fist bite. I will for sure be back to try their other desserts and drinks. I saw a few people coming in for coffee so ill try that next time too. read more

I usually get my pastries from Queens. First and last time I will get my pastries from Gino's . Had rainbow cookies very dry no flavor Napoleon/ strawberry shortcake /tiramisu must have been sitting in that refrigerator for quite some time. Cant figure out how anyone can go here and claim these pastries deserve 5 stars. The only good thing here was the woman behind the counter she was great read more

My family spent the day at the nearby Botanical Gardens. I saw Gino's on Yelp and knew that we would stop by on the way home. The shop is awesomely old school. The display cases filled with pastries are so inviting. The couple running the place are truly fun people. You can feel their passion for the place. I ordered a double shot of espresso and Gino recommended his warm donut, filled to order with cannoli cream. The donut was fantastic, truly a tasty treat! But I can't say enough about the espresso. It's a really generous pour, the double shot feels substantial. The flavor is absolutely perfect, bold without being overly bitter. Really a great cup of espresso! We took home a box of dessert for later. The cannolis are stunning, obviously filled to order and amazingly crisp. Great tasting filling. Their Napoleon is more enjoyable than others, softer without being soggy. The Napoleon filling wasn't sickeningly sweet either. Also enjoyed a chocolate mousse pastry. Everything you could ask for in an Italian pastry shop! Perfect butter cookies and Italian cheesecake, and truly yummy cannoli, the best I have ever had, and I am originally a Bronx girl! Gino's is a classic. Jerome & Joann have been a staple in the area for years, and they run an amazingly old school establishment that locals will recommend to you walking down the street. They have an amazing variety of pastries, with their freshly prepared cannolis being my favorite by far. Stop by for some quick service pastries and a coffee, they have a few convenient seats inside to take advantage of. Out of the few bakery places I went to in the Bronx, this was the only one to offer a pistachio cannoli. Cream was smoother than the rest I've had, and the shell was crunchy. No nutmeg or cinnamon or prominent spices. Plain and simple and preferably how I like cannolis. Filled to order which is how cannolis should be eaten to avoid getting the shell soggy. read more

I hadn't had a cannoli in over a decade because of an unfortunate gluten intolerance...until tonight. I walked into Gino's with my family and discovered they make gluten-free cannoli. I ordered one with a cappuccino, and with the first bite I was transported back to the crispy, rich, delicious cannoli of my childhood. As I ate it, a tear actually rolled down my cheek. Got two sfogliatelle here and they were amazing. This is a classic Arthur Avenue pastry shop and you couldn't go wrong getting anything here. Like most places on Arthur Avenue I would recommend bringing cash but they take cards as well. I'll definitely be back here, can't stop thinking about the sfogliatelle! read more

What a treasure right around the corner from the famed Arthur Ave!! Stopped in just by chance and what a delicious pleasure. Cannolis are made to order with love and expertise by Jerome himself!! I've been to Arthur Ave a few times this year and my favorite pastry shop to visit is definitely Gino's. I always get the mini cannolis which imo are reasonably priced and always taste so yum. I love the old school vibe of the shop and would recommend that you try out their cannolis and carrot cake!! read more

I had seen so many pictures and rave reviews of the "donnili" aka the cannoli donut and was so excited when I finally made it to the shop. I tried a donut filled with each flavor: cannoli, Boston cream, strawberry, strawberries and cream, and lemon. Although the donuts looked like sandwiches and not like others' pictures, they still looked pretty and promising. Quick ride to Pelham Pkwy 15 min later I bit into the famous freshly-filled donnoli. The delicious filling could not save the overall impression. That and all the other donuts I just picked up were stale. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed and unhappy with every single donut and couldn't even give them away. Thankfully, I had also picked up a slice of the (in order of favorites) napoleon, tres leche, tiramisu, and lemon coconut cake. The cakes are very good. It was not my lucky day for a donnoli. Buyer beware. If you go, try to grab other treats as backup. read more

Look, bakeries are hard to choose. Especially in an area that has many (in this case, Little Italy in the Bronx). And then you have consider if maybe the bakery is only good for one thing. At Gino's you're assured to be getting the best of everything. Yes, get the cannoli. But also, everything else. I recently special ordered a rainbow cookie-crusted cheesecake for my mother's birthday. Jerome "Gino" and the staff were so easy to order from and he even called back to make sure all the details were correct. I shlepped this cake across state lines and it was in pristine condition and my hard-to-please mother was speechless. Said it was the best cake she's ever had. And I sort of agree. Amazing bakery. Gino is so nice and a sweet person. His pastries are like no other and when l mean like no other l mean like no other. He made coffee for us without asking and made fresh canollis for us the Italian authentic way. We are from Miami and we were impressed with Gino's customer service. We never get treated that way in Florida. We wish there were more people like Gino. And l wish South Florida made pastries like Gino's in Miami. So it was a privilege getting to know him and we are never going to forget the experience we had. He even let us take pics of the store and took a pic with me outside. He was so attentive. It was our first time visiting Arthur Ave. and we really wanted a cannoli. These are the best cannolis I have had outside of Italy. The shells were crispy and the filling was just enough sweet. We got several other pastries as well and they were all delicious. Jerome was legendary. He knew everything about the neighborhood and gave us some great food suggestions. Service was terrible. My boyfriend and I ordered 4 shots of espresso, a small banana bread (that was stale), a tiny flaky croissant type pastry, and an everything (toasted) butter bagel. 4 espresso shots came out to $14 dollars!! Everything else added up to be $23 dollars. We did not understand that at all. We gave Giovanna a $20 in between customers and she seemed flustered, she told us, "wait, you owe $3 more dollars". My boyfriend could not believe we were getting ripped off by a supposedly neighborhood gem that looked dirty and unwelcoming. I will not support this place and how they do business. $4 for a cannoli, these are empty shells before purchase so when you order one, they fill it generously with the cream. They asked me if i wanted chocolate chips or pistachio. Pistachio Cannoli was actually with colored peanuts. Not a good was to do business. What if the client has a peanut allergy? Very friendly stuff though. I don't like to be fooled. Not good to do business like that. Overpriced too. read more

Being in Little Italy in the Bronx, you can't leave without grabbing a box of cannolis on the way home. A quick Google search and Gino's Pastry Shop was on top of the list. The shop is also featured in The Bronx Tale on Broadway as part of their set, which is pretty cool. Walking in the bakery, it's not a frills type of place. Very simple with a counter to order your goods. When ordering cannolis you can choose either the small or large ones depending what you are feeling that day. They are piped fresh to order and you have a choice to have them dipped on the ends with chips, pistachios or both. The texture of the cannoli shell is perfect along with the creamy ricotta cheese filling in each bite. Looking forward to returning again in the future. read more

I ordered a NAKED CAKE for my son's engagement. My sons fiancé choose Marzcapone and Rasberry filling with a cream cheese frosting, It was delicious. Definately 5 stars on taste. The way they packaged cake for us upon pick up could have been better. I will include a photo of how it was boxed when we picked up. The top of cake did topple over while transporting to location but we were able to camouflage with flowers. I think a box that secured cake on all sides WOULD have helped. So I suggest if your picking up cake order a carry box from Amazon. I learned after the fact they sell them on Amazon. The ordering process was lengthy to say the least. I think it took over two hours explaining how we wanted the cake. But he was kind enough to accommodate me when I asked if he could do a mock up with the pans to ensure we were all on the same page visually. We did show him the inspo photo which I think helped. We decorated cake with REAL FLOWERS VS FROSTED because our event was outdoors and maintaining integrity of frosted flowers would have been an issue. The real flowers we used were placed differently than the inspo due to us needing to camouflage the top tier that toppled over. We completely recommend Ginos Bakery the taste was delicious and fresh EVERYONE couldn't stop talking about how delicious it was. Just make sure that if your picking up that you have a safe way to transport your cake.‍ read more

Could be the best Sfogliatelle I've had anywhere...crisp, light, flakey, buttery. The ricotta filling was so fresh and light with a hint of citrus. My wife had a cannoli and said the same about it. In 1960, Gino and Chiara Raguso opened their doors with $500, and a penny for good luck. Since then, the business has passed hands to their son, Jerome "Gino" Raguso, who has continued to bake the best in cakes, cookies, and cannoli for the past 27 years. I remember when Conties would price the specialty cheesecakes to $30-$35 max. a 12inch pistatchio cheesecake is $46???? i know for a fact the employees dont get paid enough for the price of a cheesecake to increase that dramatically. one of the girls said the pies/cakes are made a week before they're sold, so the price on soon to expire pastries is insane. for $46 dollars I can get a larger and better quality cheesecake in Manhattan. The ladies behind the counter look unhappy and find every request to be inconvenient. this place is definitely ripping you off. UPDATE: I opened the box of cookies for my friend, she reached for the first cookie and as soon as she took a bite, she pulled out a blond hair from the cookie. $22 dollars for cookies full of hair. I'm never going back.
