Friendly, helpful staff give guests a great first impression. The menu offers lots of options, from traditional coffees and teas to Asian style bubble beverages, as well as breakfast and lunch style sandwiches and a variety of plastic wrapped baked goods. My BLT was ok, with 2 or 3 pieces of crisp bacon, but lacked flavor and didn't deliver the level of pleasure a BLT should. My chocolate chunk cookie looked great, but didn't quite taste fresh, and much of it ended up in the trash. The mocha was made with the customizations exactly as requested, but tasted burnt. The friendly service and great reviews made me want to love the place, but the edibles just didn't make the cut. Perhaps it was just an off day, but not sure if I'll head back to find out. read more

Small coffee shop located in old town - friendly staff, not a lot of tables, but very expansive, reasonably priced menu. They have a lot of neat speciality drinks (the "Mounds," cinnamon roll, strawberry mocha just to name a few). I got a decaf mounds and was happy with the flavor tho it seemed light on the coconut. I've only had their cherry mocha but boy was it delicious! True mocha flavor with a hint of cherry- it was an amazing treat! The inside of this spot is not very big, but there are several tables and a few large chairs to relax in by their massive store front window. Staff was very patient with me. Discovered outlets for me to use with my real estate client meetings. Solid drinks, especially their pour overs, Mexican Hot Chocolate, and Java Chip Smoothies. The cafe itself is also good luck to me and my real estate practice. All the clients I brought there eventually signed contracts with me. Ambiance is very warm. I really enjoyed my cinnamon bun latte made with half the syrup per the barista's suggestion when I expressed concern it would be too sweet. My daughter also enjoyed her mango smoothie. The barista takes his time to make a great drink which makes for a little longer wait but people did not seem to mind. Nice alternative to Starbucks. read more

Not a bad little coffee shop. Coffee isn't anything to write home about but it's still good coffee. We made a special trip to try this place, but we probably won't go back. Our 15 month old needs a high chair, which they had but it wasn't clean. It had food bits and stains all over the chair and it's safety straps. read more

It wasn't that the coffee wasn't good. I had a pumpkin latte and was happy with the flavor.....It was just that the place wasn't very cozy or comfortable. I didn't like the glaring white over head lights and the slightly scruffy, not-in-a-good-way run down look to the place. The dessert display case could use a good cleaning. Nice place and nice people. It's got a couple really comfy window seats that I always gravitate towards. Coffee is good especially when Matt is on duty. He always greets you and is very kind. I stumbled upon Simply Sweet a couple of months back when I was looking for a place to get my caffeine fix while I worked. The owner was very nice and accommodating and their Bacon Lattes are to die for! I've also tried their sandwiches and they are great. If you come in to do work, there are plenty of outlets if you decide to come in with your laptop and the WiFi is free. Every time I've stopped by I've had a pleasant experience. I don't really care for the decor (too many ad posters)...the place has some real potential for some cozy ambiance, but it's not there yet. read more

Love the atmosphere of the shop and its surroundings. The small garden next door is a great place to sit and drink, if the weather permits it, and the inside is filled with local art and photography which is also a bonus. I've have their smoothies and Thai teas and both were very good and I have returned to the shop multiple times to get them again. I went for the first time around noon on Saturday. Since it was a holiday weekend there didn't seem to be any folks about. The person behind the counter was very helpful and friendly. They have a wealth of coffee and non coffee drinks. As well as sandwiches out of the wazoo. Employee was cheeful and helpful, the coffee was fantastic and you could taste it instead of the fake sugar that so many other places use. Great customer service! Local to the VRE I have been coming for a little over a month and have tried a good assortment of their items. I have been happy with everything I have ordered (good sized sandwiches for the price). My girlfriend loves the tea selection. This place is growing in popularity and can get busy on weekends. We stopped in here last night as we continued to ride out the monsoon before our monstrous 2-hour drive home. It's a quaint shop in downtown Main Street Manassas -- which I had NO idea existed until last night! - with coffees, pastries, and sandwiches. My chocolate chunk cookie was delicious, and the coffee was good. My daughter did not care for her sundae, mostly because she expected a brownie, although I don't know if you can fault the cafe for that. We were in Manasssas to check out a local used book store, and we stopped by Simply Sweet for a late lunch and dessert. The owner (Matt) was so friendly and helpful, and we could tell that he is doing everything he can to make his guests feel comfortable and welcome. We were so impressed with Matt that I decided to write this review. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a meatball sandwich. Both were delicious, with a great mouthfeel and flavor. The meatball sandwich had just the right amount of melted provolone and enough sauce to make me happy. Both were reasonably priced, esp. when we ordered the meal (which came with chips and a soda). We then ordered hand-dipped ice cream. I was impressed with the ice cream's flavor and texture - it was the perfect hard texture for hand-dipped (no drippage) - and with Matt's generosity in scoops. For ex, he made sure to pack ice cream in the base of my cone so that I had ice cream in every bite. He also offered homemade cupcakes, each of which has a unique design (mine had a smiley face with a crown). The cupcake had tasty fondant icing, but the cupcake itself was a little more dense than I would have expected from a cupcake. Still, it was good. We were so impressed with Matt's work and friendliness that I decided to post this review. If you're in Manassas, I'd definitely recommend stopping by for a bite. It's totally worth it. read more

We've been back several times, and I really like this place. The guy is doing everything he can to make it successful. Initially he did not have decaf for espresso drinks, but upon request, he now has it. The chicken salad has remained fresh and delicious. We did try the cheesecake cupcakes - wow! Seriously spectacular! He also makes mini cupcakes which are extremely tasty. So far I have no complaints, and they guy is just really nice. He's a great addition to Old Town and I would love to see this place thrive and remain in place for a long time to come.Give it a try - you won't be sorry! read more

My wife and I have really come to love this place. It's a small cafe in Historic Downtown that has everything you could ask for in a neighborhood coffee shop. The owner is really friendly and the service is usually quick. It always has outdoor seating available which is great for when we bring our pup. We like to get the coffee crumb cakes which are delicious. I like the red eye (drip coffee with a shot of espresso) when it's cold and the nitro cold brew when it's hot out. Service was pretty bad. I walked in...no one in the shop. The barista was on her phone and didn't end her conversation until I stood there and stared at her after already being there for a few minutes looking at the drink board. I expected the drinks to be nicer than your typical Starbucks, but it was more on the order of Dunkin Donuts where they just get the base drink from a vat and pump a bunch of sugar into it.
