What a good coffee spot. On vacation and went with a friend. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very welcoming- love the books and the decorations- Black history[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . Got a Kin latte ( delicious) and an egg and bacon sandwich on a croissant. Can't wait to come back in the future.

Wow. Just Wow. As many of you know a new local gem is born! Nestled in a newish strip mall in Gainesville VA, the Culture Cup is everything that initially made me love coffee shops. The people are lovely- well informed about what is on their menus and how to make it to your liking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop decor is stylish, with books, paintings, a mix of coffee shop tables, couches, decor that is local and themed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food and coffee are both delicious and specific to this shop. If you haven't gone do yourself a favor like a lot of people I saw, and make this coffee shop YOUR place to go for coffee and community.

Warm welcoming atmosphere. Perfect place to sit and do some work, catch up with friends, sit and drink some coffee while you read.

Amazing coffee and amazing customer service. The owner and the workers are so personable and make you feel like part of the family. I love getting coffee there when ever I have a chance

My fiancé and I stopped by this coffee shop after our first dance class at Arthur Murray next-door. The location itself is open and well maintained. I loved the seasonal offerings for Black History Month as the February coffee options were still up. One latte called the Maya Angelo caught my eye. I loved the simple, thoughtful decorations. The location has plenty of pictures of noteworthy, historical figures and beautiful mirrors. We opted for a dirty, chai iced. I am particular about my dirty chai, and I specifically asked if they use pre-prepared chai mix like teavana or a powder. I was very impressed when the lady behind the bar mentioned that she makes the chai concentrate herself with vanilla bean and spices they were incredibly accommodating as I also do half oat milk and half almond milk to my coffees to have the perfect blend of thick and flavorful (without the extra cholesterol). The coffees were absolutely delicious. Certainly worth the price point and handcrafted. The only note I could make was that there was a lot of ice used and I wanted more beverage. I am certain that we will be visiting this location after our dance classes :)

I stumbled across The Culture Cup yesterday - but they weren't open. So I drove by this morning - they were open - turns out TODAY (Sept. 25, 2023) is their first day open! It's in the space previously occupied by a small organic cupcake shop that went out of business. It's located in the retail complex called "The Marketplace at Madison Crescent" at the intersection of U.S. 15 & U.S. 29 in Gainesville, VA. I walked in this morning, was immediately greeted by the owner Nikki. I scanned the menu board and ordered a cold brew (they currently only offer one size). The cold brew was excellent! Strong and delicious! I suggested that down the road they offer some larger cup sizes. They offer some limited sandwich and baked good selections - have not tried any of those out yet. Plenty of seating inside. Relaxing vibe to the place. Paid with Apple Pay. Service was good! Super nice folks! I will be back! Check 'em out! #TheCultureCup

I had the pleasure of checking out The Culture Cup!!! I love the seasonal drink options, teas, pastries, and sandwiches!!! We enjoyed a savory Ali Latte, chai latte, avocado toast, and the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. The staff were preparing a steady stream of orders but still managed to greet every single guest who entered the cafe. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The aesthetics are beautifully done and celebrates the rich history of African Americans in the USA.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will definitely be back to explore more delicious options and maybe explore one of the books from the book shelf!!!

I'm never going anywhere else for coffee due to vibes and service alone (This is my first visit, but their service and atmosphere is unparalleled). I ordered a drink marked on their specials board "The Balwin" which was a salted mocha, tasted deep like an expresso, personally I prefer a sweeter taste but it was good. THE BACON EGG AND CHEESE CROISSANT was sooooo good, and I'm grateful for the fact that they had it. It was so banging, I didn't get a picture of it, sorry. I'll catch it next review/visit!

Just a little part of this beautiful place

Jess was a pure joy to meet. He made a perfect shot of expresso and a perfect dark roast. The decor is beautiful and welcoming. Crystal chandeliers and wing back chairs to hug you as you sip your coffee. The place is immaculate Bathrooms so clean and happy for a gal like me. A +++++ there are a numerous amount of what looks like, homemade baked goods, brownies, and pastries Mouth watering to say the least. What a wonderful find. We will be back and I will not eat before going. YUM

BLUF: Lots of kinks in customer service and operations need to be worked out. Food was ok. Coffee…read moreitself was rather acidic but espresso drinks with all the extras added were more appealing. Cute shop but service negatively affected the overall experience. Walking in, we liked the vibe. The place is tight on space and it gets very busy and crowded on weekends. This coffeehouse has potential, but they're not showing their best right now. Bait and switch: Based on their menu, we did not at all receive what we were anticipating. It sounded so delicious on the menu. However, what we got was not what was posted and not one of the staff told us that they were out of what we ordered. Not at the time of ordering, not while we waited forever to get our food, not when the food finally came out. Some food was brought to us, some sat out on the counter forever (because the buzzers don't work) where other customers picked up their orders. Who knows how much spit ended up on the food! We kept munching and kept thinking something is missing. We looked under the bread and didn't see what was stated on the menu so we finally asked and were told they were out of what we ordered. Absolutely unacceptable but useless at this point after waiting 20+ minutes for sandwiches and beverages and being faced by someone extremely unapologetic and unmotivated to correct the situation. So, prices definitely not worth what you get here. Hit or miss in terms of food and beverages for both quality and taste. Disappointing that the coffee was so sour and bitter tasting. Hoping for a nice smooth cup. Everything we ordered and customer service received here...unreliable at best. Worth the drive? Nope. If in the immediate area and needing caffeine, maybe, but definitely not worth going out of your way. Parking tight on the weekends. Was so hoping to love this place because we need more independent warm, cozy, welcoming coffeehouses. But service, food, coffee at this point were all very disappointing. Big improvements in all areas? Well, maybe we'll return and try again, but the poor first impression received on this visit will be hard to motivate a return in order to improve this rating and review.

The owner is from Colombia, and there's a beautiful portrait in the shop representing coffee from her family's farms, which adds such a personal and meaningful touch. This place is as charming as it gets--cozy, welcoming, and thoughtfully curated. Great coffee, delicious sweets, and a solid selection of sandwiches. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.
