Needed a fix for basement water intrusion. K showed up immediately started sales pitch for other items. Took quite a bit to get her on point with the requested scope of work. Asked a lot of personal questions trying to build rapport. After 30 minutes of forced chit chat and 30 minutes of looking around she asked if we could discuss. Went to my kitchen where she proceeded to write up the quote. After a half hour I asked if she could just email me the bid, as i work from home and needed to work rather than watch her type and print. Was told "that is not how we do business" and I should plan on three hours to complete, and continued to work on the quote. I stopped her at two hour mark and ended the meeting. Received the quote and asked some questions via text regarding maintenance and such. Another sales job ensued after being told to read the warranty which did not address my questions. She also bad mouthed a competitor by name, asked who I had contacted for bids and inquired as to their scope of work and price. I get multiple bids but will never "shop" potential contractors against each other. May still consider GW but only with a new point of contact. For all of the TV advertisement I expected a more professional and focused experience. Matvey stabilized our driveway and filled in the cracks and also stabilized a back patio slab that was sinking. Super happy with the way the jobs turned out. Also had them try and stabilize our large concrete front porch landing. Didn't work out as planned. They came back 3 times to try and stabilize it but to no avail. They gave it there best effort but to unforeseen issues we decided to try something else. Requested services for coating my newly constructed art studio, the flooring is concrete. Matvey gave me a very reasonable estimate and upon accepting, was able to schedule the service within a month which by todays standards was very fast. The team that came out and was able to complete the job within 2 days. Typically takes only one day but I had around 1100 sq/ft so the second day was to apply the final clear coating. My floor looks fantastic, the guys that came out were very professional, explained the process thoroughly, and cleaned up each day as if no one was ever there. If i could give them 0 stars I would, I normally don't leave reviews but this was a terrible experience. the office girls are so rude, and don't even care what you say if it's a compliment or a complaint, I had my house worked on about 2 weeks ago and everything was fine I Had requested a specific group to come out because him and his crew were Talked very highly from friends of mine but they ended up sending a whole different crew and didn't say anything to me after they said that shouldn't be an issue. They took way longer then what i was told and left a mess after, I called to speak to someone about it and got told by the girl that it's oral and to not worry about .. what??? How is leaving a mess normal? but I said i understand is there someone else I could speak with cause i saw this convo going no where she said no and hung up. It left a very bad taste in my mouth regarding how they train there staff and how little they care. I think her name was sarah or Ciara ? Received a call from a company rep yesterday to discuss repairing the cracks. I recommended they come out and look at the slabs before doing the repairs to see how the slabs were shifting. Crack repair team showed up and agreed that the slabs looked off, but they could only fix the cracks. The short of it is the crack repairs look nice, but the slabs are still uneven which is why we had them come out in the first place. Grudgingly bumped to 3 stars for nice crack repairs and trying to remedy the problem, but the original problem still exists. read more

The five stars is for their communication from start to finish - especially if you have any questions or concerns during or after the work. Each crew handled my partner's technical questions fully as well as my sensory questions. ("How loud?" "How smelly?" "How messy?") I expect every project I outsource to go sideways at least once. Matvey responded promptly and responsibly to all our questions and concerns whenever those unexpected problems came up. Again, my sensory issues were handled as respectfully as the technical ones. The crews were quite varied but all knowledgeable, detail oriented, and professional. Over the last several years (5? 10?) it has been challenging for me to find this level of professionalism and reliability for house projects. 6/15/2021 Update: The owner of the company contacted me and apologized for my experiences with Matvey. He gave me a 4% refund on the job I had paid for six months ago. If you ever find yourself unlucky enough to need foundation / floor structure repair, do not use Matvey Foundation Repair. Due to a sloping floor, I had two floor stabilizers installed ($8k, ouch). Months later, it seemed like the floor continued to slope. I crawled under the house to find that the majority of the joists did not even meet the beams and there were no beam protectors installed. I called the company, and to their credit, they had a team out within a week. When the job was over I asked the foreman if all the heat ducts were reattached. I have one with a bent connection that requires some extra attention (duct tape) to reconnect securely. He said they were. I reiterated that if they were not all connected to please let me know now. He promised again that they were all connected. I few days go by and I haver terrible allergies and my house still smells of crawl space. I again crawl under the house to find the duct looking like the photo. It is clear that there was zero attempt to reconnect it or to provide quality work for that matter. read more

I called to ask about getting someone out to evaluate my project. Before I even finished describing what was going on, I was interrupted and told that "they don't do that anymore". When I said that I thought she had misunderstood me, she asked me to send pictures and she would get back to me. I sent pictures the next day. It's been a week and nothing. I'm really disappointed. Matvey foundation repair overall did a very nice job from the quoting, scheduling, all the way to project execution and the follow up. Therefore, I am giving them a 5-star rating here. Their back office is efficient on scheduling for quoting and reminding me of the job date, etc. The working crew arrived on my site sharply on time at 8 am per the schedule. Two of their professionals started to work immediately in a well-coordinated fashion. Couple of hours later, another two showed up: to do the cleaning and drilled hole patching. Our garage floor had sunk more than 2 inches at places, luckily the concrete slab did not break. According to Matvey's crew, there were lots of empty volumes underneath the garage floor. They made me aware before the job, if they lift the garage floor, more fine cracks may show up on the surface. They did a good job: afterwards, really there is no more visible cracks than before. They mentioned to me that the driveway that's connected to the garage floor may need to lift since the partial empty volume below them are somewhat connected. They quoted on the spot and I had them did the driveway as well. They cleaned up afterwards nicely. This company knows what it takes to get the job done! Thanks. read more

They did a fine job at stabilizing but don't expect your cracks to disappear. After an initial low bid to put in foam, they changed their mind that the needed to jack up our porch for about double the cost. I was expecting it would be close to paint ready when they were done but I needed to do 3-4 hours of crack repair and can still see the original cracks in the cement. They stopped it from getting worse but it didn't get better. read more

I had to think about the work that was done and what was the charge and I started to boil. The bid was over 8 grand and how it was explained it sounded good. Two guys got to our home about 9am. They started drilling holes and injecting some material. I left and returned about 2:30 or 3 and they were wrapping up. I looked around and it looked about the same as when I left. they repaired the seams in the driveway and the large cracks were just repaired the same way. Nothing was lifted like it was explained to us. So two guys worked 6 hours and we are out big bucks. The looks of the drive way are ok. Better than before but NOT 8 grand worth. read more

Had about 55 foot length of sinking concrete pad behind a solid, waterfront, concrete bulkhead. Pads dropped varying from about 2" to 5" in spots due to underground erosion. Got several bids. Felt very good about the professionalism of the Matvey sales rep. Also, a neighbor had good experience recently. Matvey bid was 15% higher than my lowest capable bidder, though Matvey fixed price regardless of material needed and provided a 25 year warrantee based on 1/4" of movement. For me the extra 15% was a good choice. They finished project yesterday, fully to my objectives and satisfaction. And, did a wonderful clean-up, leaving pads cleaner than before. Will wholeheartedly endorse Matvey. read more

I have never written a negative view before. Matvey's post and pier technique damaged the structure of my home. If you own a BRICK home, I'd suggest considering a different process in resolving any foundation issues. It may work well with wooden structures. On the first day following installation, loud crackling sounds (settling) began and have continued for 3 years. The Project Manager, Mike Rowley, responded when I called and came to my home. He discovered the NW corner was elevated higher than the surrounding push piers that were installed. He has come out several times since then to see if the chimney has settled since the project began. The reason I contacted the company was because of my concern at the chimney area. I have a larger problem than I started out with. The salesman, Andrew made a great presentation and the brochures were impressive then someone came out and determined how many post piers were needed and where to place each post. This may be where the error lies. The owner, Matt has contacted me and shows interest in correcting the situation. If the company can resolve the problem of loud noises, I'd like to delete this review and post a positive one. read more

Matvey is very sorry for my experience. That is empty and for show here. Never once was I contacted about my aweful service recieved until this review and that "sorry" was the extent of it. I'm sorry for your complete and utter failing to do what your employee said you would do when he looked at my project and told me what it would cost. I'm sorry you thought you should keep my deposit since you had to pay people to come out and tell me, in the first few minutes on site, that they could not do what your salesman said you could do because it costs you money to have them come out. I'm sorry you told me my fix would be much more than originally thought (keep in mind this was not hidden cement work but steps that were to be leveled). I'm sorry you held onto my deposit so long before returning it. I paid you when you expected it, but did not get the same in return. Such a complete fail and the worst vendor experience I've ever had. That says a lot since I have worked with hundreds of vendors on projects. Sorry from you just doesn't do this justice. One thing you did right was turn off comments on your facebook ads so I cant reply anymore when they pop up in my feed. I am sorry I cant reply to those anymore. Hired Matvey to come out and install pin piles and do a leveling/raising of our walkway. Work was scheduled for the 30th of September, they started the work but didn't finish, came back on the 9th of October to finish and this is the final result. Poly level didn't level anything no signs it was even done, huge piece of concrete missing from the front of the house. Waiting for a response now on how this is going to be. UPDATE. Got ahold of I will say, the Forman and he got me taken care of. His crew came out today the 18th of October and they completed the finishing work on my concrete in the pouring rain and miserable weather. The work done to lift my concrete porch was performed very well and that work area was cleaned up very professionally. Unfortunately, the service truck used by the team has an oil or fuel leak problem. The team did put a catch bucket under one leak area but not below two other leak areas and as a result a number of greasy oily messes were made on my concrete driveway...I really didn't appreciate getting one concrete area fixed while another one was damaged! I cleaned up their mess with an oil absorbing product, so the area now looks OK, but hey, Matvey team, you really have got to step it up with non-leaking trucks or better under-truck protection of the customers driveways, etc. read more
