GroupISO doesn't promptly release reserves. They try to waste your time by making you complete request forms and then not fully releasing the full amount until you ask again for your final $500. GroupISO acted negligent towards our business, modifying our AVS/CVV settings (as confirmed by our gateway company) and causing $100,000+ in losses. I think they mistakenly assume we will not recover the full damages in court despite a clear cut case. read more

Nowadays, merchant services are a dime a dozen and it becomes difficult to find out which is the best. Between discounted fees to other unnecessary perks, it's easy to get confused. Luckily, Group ISO came recommended by a friend of mine who couldn't stop talking about his positive experience with them. I was cautious, at first, as it almost sounded too good to be true but after having used them for some time now, I can speak highly enough about them. One thing that is very important to me in a merchant service is customer service. For this alone, I give them 5 stars. I always get the impression that I am one of their most important clients, even though I know they have a lot of them. I was referred to Group ISO from a friend who is a fellow business owner. They provided my info to their rep Dan Nettleton. Dan contacted us when the time was right and followed up with us for months. He was very polite, persistent but not pushy, and thorough in explaining the terminology (financial mambo jumbo to me). After going back and forth with another company who was providing competitive rates, Group ISO and associate Deea Smith beat their quote AND saved us money. Deea explained how their rates were lower and she got us up and running in days! Deea was awesome, she made some great recommendations, set up our terminals, and walked us thru all the aspects of processing. I highly recommend anyone considering doing business with this company to exercise extreme caution. I closed my account with them in February 2013. They then sat on $12,990.67 until the end of April 2014. They claim this was a mandatory "reserve" in case of charge-backs after the account was closed. Of course the money was held interest-free. Not to mention I was processing over $900k per year with them and had very few chargebacks, most of which were reversed in my favor once I produced supporting documentation to prove that the customer did in fact receive the service they claimed they did not. If you don't mind having your merchant service processor sitting on large quantities of your money for 14 months then by all means go with Group ISO. If, however, you find this to be as unreasonable as I do then I suggest you look elsewhere. PS: On a positive note Group ISO does always pick up their phone with a live person in attendance during business hours. Their customer service was/is excellent in that respect. PSS: Just an update on this. I got a call back today from Group ISO about this and its even worse than what they originally told me it was. Apparently I had a large $30,000 transaction several years ago which they placed a hold on a portion of the amount. They then "forgot" to release this hold...including after I had cancelled the account. I distinctly remember this missing money from around 4 or 5 years ago and the stink it caused...because the Group ISO statement showed it being processed. I think a bookkeeper even got fired. Pretty sloppy on their part, but I was impressed they called back and came clean about their mistake. Again...proceed at your own risk. I've moved on and am very happy with my current merchant services provider who DOES NOT hold my money and make me jump through hoops. read more

Group ISO told me I would be able to sell my product with an international merchant and avoid restrictions with domestic processing. I found out later that Visa/MC rules are worldwide and you cannot avoid restrictions with international accounts. Also they set me up with a processor Payovation that takes 3 weeks to finally give approval and then you never hear from them or Group ISO again. My business has been on hold and we wasted 7 weeks so far waiting for a reply when we could have gone elsewhere a long time ago. read more

I work at a web design agency in downtown Chicago, IL and we have used Group ISO for over three years now. We actually have two accounts - one for us and one for our sister company. I have used other merchant services before and what sets Group ISO apart is the customer service. Usually when you speak with your merchant account representative you get a very non-personal service-not so with Group ISO, they do not simply hide behind their corporate policies but actually want to help you, every time I called asking for help they always did their best to help and always answered right away. Also, from the technical perspective, I never had any problems; never experienced any downtime. No complaints and a big KUDOS for a caring customer service (something very hard to find nowadays), thus the five star rating. read more

I started out with a reserve amount and was told by the owner that if I had no chargebacks they would release my reserve after 6 months. I am a small-business owner and just recently decided to start accepting credit cards. Searching for the right processing company meant sifting through search results listing many cc service providers (in an unregulated industry) to find the one that could and would handle my particular situation thoughtfully, thoroughly and ethically. I worked with Group ISO for my merchant processing needs and ecommerce uses. They were invaluable at helping me accomplish my goals and treated me with VIP service even though I know I was small potatoes. I closed my business in 2017, and somehow my cancellation letter was lost. My bank account remained open as there were assets to sell and I never noticed the monthly charges that were continuing. I recently contacted the support team and explained the situation, forwarding a copy of the letter I had sent to their office. They have stopped the charges and are looking into the refund of what I was charged after the business closed down. We opened our wireless charge anywhere account with Group ISO in August 2011. Without warning they charged us in Feb 2012 for the annual fee which was 3 times our normal monthly fee. I don't believe it is good business to charge an annual fee after only having 5 months of service. We cancelled with them and are asking for a refund. read more

My company was recently terminated by Group ISO because of "a change in the industry." We have a .006% charge back rate, had recently had our monthly limit upped to 125k per month, our reserve requirements removed, and had been approved for an AMEX account. Group ISO told us, point blank, that the termination had NOTHING to do with us and our statements back up the fact that we are a great merchant who takes great care of our clients. None the less, they are still illegally holding 16 thousand dollars of our money. I could understand holding an amount equal to our total charge back amount for the last year (which would be $325.00 versus the $650,000.00 we ran win them), but 16K is tantamount to theft; not only of the money, but of the damages we are incurring as a result of the hit to our working capital. I won't go so far as to call them outright thieves, but I will say that you should be extremely cautious about ever doing business with them. They have very poor communication and are extremely inflexible in their favor in all decisions. Unfortunately, because of their, I believe, illegal inflexibility in this decision, I am looking at possible attorney general and legal action against them. read more

I just had a bad experience with this company. I work for a $30 million/yr company in business since 1984 with nearly 200 employees. Group ISO contacted us wanting to be our processor, giving us a quote that would save us a few hundred a month. Fine. I provided what they requested in the application. They did not trust my CFO's info and wanted a copy of the driver's license of our Owner/CEO. I told them our CFO's info should be sufficient, so then they asked for legal proof that our CFO was an officer of the company. Fine. Then they asked for more: two more monthly statements from our current processor, bank statements for 3 months, the latest financials. Again, I provided these. But I felt like they didn't trust us. Who contacted who and wanted our business? The final straw was an e-mail saying Congratulations, your approved! But Please Note, you must provide a copy of the agreements or invoices of every transaction. What? We have 300 - 400 transactions a month. I have been with our company for 14 years through several processors, and have never been asked for such information. They also said individual charges were limited to $50,000 for the first 3 months ( we have 4 or 5 that go over that per year). I said no way, deals off! Then 45 mins later I get an e-mail from someone else saying our account is set up! You don't change the terms of the agreement and move ahead with the account set up without getting our agreement to it first! So I sent e-mails to both the person I had been dealing with and the person who set up the account. I hear nothing back. So I call the person who set up our account and she tells me she got my e-mail but did nothing with it, the account was already set up and I'd have to call Authorize.net myself to have them cancel it. The beauty of all this is that in the last 12 months, with 3,104 credit card transactions totaling over 5.4 million dollars, we have had ZERO chargebacks. ZERO!!!! This company was a total waste of my time. Update 12/13/12: the next day after all this, I get a call from their VP. He says things weren't communicated correctly, that they're a smaller company that funds all the transactions themselves, so they vet their clients carefully. The person who signed me up was relatively new and didn't know companies with large transactions required the extra application information. The part about providing a copy of every transaction was miscommunicated--they meant only the few large ones. The person who signed me up left early for the day so the account continued to be set up. It's possible Group ISO is an excellent company, but they just messed up our particular application process. If you have small transactions, even a large volume, you'll probably be fine. If you have big transactions, be prepared to provide them extra info on your business and copies or your big transactions the first few months. If you're ok with that, then fine. We have never had to do that with other processors and I'm not interested in doing that now. I changed my 1-star rating to 3-stars. I don't think they intentionally did anything bad, there was just poor communication on our application. They should have got from us from the start whether we had large transactions and clearly stated the application requirements for that, the 50k limit, and the copy requirements. That would have saved us all a lot of time and frustration. read more

The customer service is great, the fees are very competitively priced, and most importantly, they have brought my credit card processing fees wayyyyyy down! In response to ISO's comment, this is typical in dealing with ISO is that they fabricate solutions, etc. What they really wanted was us to activate the account so they could prove their charges were valid. We were the ones making contact to make resolutions not them. They on the other hand never called us back as promised when they said would. We waited and waited. If anyone cares to see what they did to our bank account. We will be happy to provide a copy of our bank statement that shows they took money out of our account before we even ran a transaction, and then put it back in causing overdrafts. Why would they take money and put it back if there was not a mistake. They tried to push the blame to our bank and everyone else. I would advise anyone that is thinking about working with this company to read the fine print, and don't believe a word they say. Poorest customer service we have ever dealt with. read more
