Most recently, we were enjoying a lovely and peaceful Sunday morning stroll and picnic breakfast when the stillness was shattered by a woman (purportedly teaching some sort of class) braying like a jackass and screaming at the top of her lungs, disturbing other users and the many wonderful ducks which, ultimately, took flight at all the commotion. I never been to this park but I looked in that area and this park looked nice and seemed to have trails for our kids hiking levels. The kids loved this park, amazing trails, not that hard that go inside the woods or along the river. Lots of scenic stops, and lots of fun in general. What made us very happy is that this park ALLOWS DOGS (a big thing in Quebec). The park is also very popular as a fishing spot, or for mushroom pickers. The entry is about 5-7$ pp and there is free parking, you can see all the details and trails on the park site, they are also very friendly (and speak English) over the phone. My little one caught 2 fish, one 12 inch, and the other 15 inch trout. Fish you catch is sold at $1 per inch which includes includes fishing rods, bait and ice. There is also a mini playground ideal to keep little kids occupied. I am not a big fan of fresh water fish for consumption. In the dinner plate, I was expecting a somewhat neutral taste, but find that it has an "earthy" taste. The joy here is spending time with the kids. I can guarantee you will treasure the video of the expression on the face of your little one reeling in the catch of the day.

There are several paths, some are more magical than others. The Dog path is also the main one, which is about 6 Km of a wonderful shaded trail so even during a blazing sun and a hot day like today we could enjoy the shade, cool forest smells and not break swat. PERFECT. The trail is a good dirt/gravel road that even a good stroll can pass there and is perfect for running. Bonus there are benches and garbage bins along the trails. So what can I do here except hiking ? There are Geocaches, disc-golf, swimming pool (was still closed), running, outdoor sport, soccer 9there is a field, fishing. Bottom line a wonderful well maintained park that is a great solution for a fun and short nature escape.

Right in front of the Centre de Peche CR there is a 30 foot hole where walleye sit and the fishing nearby holds plenty of bass in the shallows with the odd Musky and pike and sheepshead. You can also if you desire go out to Lac des Deux Montagnes and Ile aux Tortes bridge or down and around to Pointe Du Moulin. I lost the musky of my life last tear in September 500 yards from the dock. Right now is the time to go I reccomend it 100%.
