We were in town visiting and stopped in for a quick lunch. My husband and I split the Havana Cubana. It was really quite good but it was a pretty small sandwich so I could have eaten a whole one myself. Being from Philly, I have to say the prices are a bit high but I'm glad they are doing well there. Can't wait to see what else pops up in Tallassee! read more

The pro: - Decent food, especially considering the more rural location. Entrees and baked goods both were tasty. Not amazing, but good. Maybe 7 out of 10. The cons: - Very poor service. Went twice while staying for the weekend on Lake Martin. First time: Friday evening supper - I came in and sat for 25 minutes waiting for my friends to show up, and no one addressed me in that entire time. The place is small, and multiple staff members - including the woman that I would assume is the owner - walked past my table multiple times without saying hi - or telling me that you have to order at the counter, similar to a Panera. (She did have time, however, to have a lengthy chat with some patrons she knew that were closing out their table) We had to figure the ordering situation out on our own, as we still got no greeting even after my friends arrived. Ate there again on Sunday for Brunch; had to go ask for my OJ after the young guy at the counter forgot to bring it out. The menu - very limited options. Friday night - 3 entrees. Sunday brunch - similar situation. Very limited non-alcoholic drink options also. No regular fresh iced tea. No Pellegrino. No hot tea at breakfast. The price - our Friday evening entrees were $40, and my brunch - Crabcakes Benedict and a very small orange juice - was $30! The food was good, but not that good. Overall, not a bad option food-wise if you're in Tallassee, but the service and overall experience didn't match the price point. Would give it a 2.5 star rating if that was possible. read more

This is the cutest find in Tallassee! We popped in for a quick sweet treat, and the staff recommended the salted Carmel cream cheese graham cracker cookie. It was PHENOMENAL. Prices were good, and the market itself is decorated so well. We'll have to go for dinner one day (which they only do on Thursday nights). read more

I have been here twice. Once on Thursday evening and a second time for lunch. Both times the food has been amazing. Today when I went for lunch, I had a hard time e deciding between 5 amazing choices. I settled on the Ruben, and it was the best one I've ever eaten. The staff if friendly and the service is on-point. Downtown Tallasee is under a renovation/renaissance. This little berg has 4 or 5 amazing places to eat. Grove Station is the anchor! read more

This coffee shop has an amazing choice of teas . The coffee here is great as well but the inside is a quaint place. Many folks meet here for their community morning pick me up. This is the place to take out of town folks for mid morning or afternoon coffee. The folks here will make suggestions and the coffee and tea choices are exciting. The inside is definitely a place to relax and literary groups meet here. This is a place to write home about. read more

We had a wonderful experience dining in at Grove Station this week. I had chicken salad in a tomato and the other two members of our party enjoyed Cubans. Ok, this is a special review for me. My mother passed away two days ago and we don't live in Alabama at all...so as a tribute to my mother, we came to the area she was raised and where most of her family is. This place was so amazing to help us through this tragedy and allow us access to their special second floor space which is absolutely amazing. Lots of room for so many people...pictures to follow. The food is incredible and so professional in its display on the plate. They are not messing around and are really a diamond in the rough. This area is kinda like stepping into the early 1900's and their is so much character in the area. If you need special space for a wedding or in our case a family gathering event....this will definitely get the job done. All the employees were so attentive to our needs. Food was great, very limited menu options. The service was atrocious and so alarming considering the prices that we paid for each meal. Our server (seemed like the lady running things) was incredibly rude, disrespectful, and not inclusive of dietary restrictions. She was extremely stuck up for someone working at a restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Will not be returning. read more
