    Sandwiches and fry's

Yum. This was a hidden gem close enough to the training base that we could go during lunch. They have unique sandwiches and the staff were really friendly and helpful with recommendations. My travel companion and I couldn't decide so we got two different sandwiches and swapped halves. We also both got fries what were flavorful and crispy. The sandwiches were warm, flavorful, and filling. We sat outside on the benches since it was a nice day. Would recommend!

Quite pleased these good folks opened this deli in EastBrook. The interior is spotless and comfortable. There's interior and outdoor dining spots available. The service is fabulous with a friendly staff. The food and menu is excellent with sandwiches and hot lunch options available.

I'm sorry, but Eastbrook Deli doesn't have any reason to exist. If you can make something better at home, and in a reasonable amount of time, there is no reason to pay for it at a restaurant. I lived in NYC for a decade, so of course I have certain expectations for what constitutes a bagel. Apparently the owner did as well, with his father owning a bodega in Jamaica, Queens. But whatever lessons he learned there were obviously forgotten. The minimum wage employees working the bagel kiosk at Birmingham's airport are better representatives of New York cuisine. A lox and cream cheese bagel should be fairly big and chewy. Typically, they're boiled. They should be toasted so the outside is crisp. Lox should lay on top of the cream cheese, or at least be mixed into it in large, visible chunks. It should taste like fish, and be topped with capers and red onion. This is a soft, anemic little store-bought bagel, several grades below what you can get at Costco. It's not toasted, but gently warmed over. There is no lox in this cream cheese. It's thin, liquid, and more closely resembles the flavor of a "sundried tomato" spread. You can't even get capers. Though at least they did have some red onion, albeit a bit thicker-sliced than you'd really want. I understand the need to adapt to your environment, but every store in the United States sells this stuff. You can easily and quickly make something better at home for a fraction of the price. So just do that.

I have been a loyal customer of Chappy's Deli for decades. I first fell in love with this…read morerestaurant as a teenager and continued supporting it throughout my college years and beyond. Because of that history, it is disappointing to say that my most recent experience left me seriously questioning whether I will continue to patronize this establishment. When placing a large catering order and spending a substantial amount of money, I expected to be treated as a valued customer. Instead, the attitude from management made me feel more like a nuisance than someone supporting their business. Customer service should reflect appreciation for patrons, especially those making significant purchases and returning year after year. The food may still be good, but great food alone does not make for a great customer experience. Respect, professionalism, and gratitude toward customers matter just as much. Long-time customers should never leave feeling as though their business is an inconvenience. It is unfortunate because I have many fond memories associated with Chappy's Deli, but experiences like this make it difficult to justify continuing to spend my hard-earned money where it does not seem to be appreciated.

The breakfast was delicious--my Mom and I both got breakfast bowls and my Dad got eggs, toast, and hashbrowns. The ambiance was great as well, they even had a small fishtank near where we were seated! As a certified animal lover, I felt this was a very fun touch. We will definitely be returning, perhaps for lunch to try some of their amazing sandwiches!

It defies all logic of concept. It's not a restaurant, but it is. It's not a grocery store, but is.... It's not a liquor store, but... It's such an interesting evolution of business man. You could never just start something like this. It's just been percolating for a good while and just evolving along the way. They now are in the whole building they lease as the concept has grown. I love to see a family business evolve and grow! It's call Derk's Filet and Vine. I was thinking steakhouse when I heard we were going here. It is a butcher shop (slash) wine and beer store (slash) grocery store (slash) caterer (slash) that happens to also sell a wildly popular Meat and Three Caferteria Style lunch that lines up people sometimes in the hundreds. Insanity. My reasons for being here are even more insane to be honest. Nonetheless, I am so glad to have had the opportunity to see this place while I am still alive. The folks working here are fantastic! Super helpful and friendly. I dig some AL hospitality! I had never been to Montgomery before. My lunch was too freaking notch!! Yum. Yum! I'll be back.
