Stayed here when I was away with work. Its set off a country road and is a gated hotel. The hotel was a country house at one time and has a large garden an outdoor terrace. Rooms are nicely appointed and come with the usual room ammeneties.
The restaurant has seasonal specials that change on a regular basis. I opted for the 3 course menu . There was lots of choice i went for salmon gravalax for starter, the cannon of lamb for main and cheese and biscuits for dessert. The salmon was served with dill and was tasty. The lamb was served with seasonal veg and dauphinois potatoes and was served perfectly pink. The cheese and biscuits were fine ith pretty main stresm cheese choices.
They do a good breakfast with everything cooked to order as well as specialities such as eggs benedict, smoked kippers, poached eggs and classic smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.
Its a nice hotel and one which i will definitely stay in again. read more
