The park has a nice mixture of park staples for its size. This includes a basketball, baseball field, tennis courts and open field. The unique part of this park is the community pool, another place I'd frequent, but on my most recent visit it was not open despite being a nice day so hopefully it is still being operated. The park has a few paths for walking but not as extensive as some other parks in Essex county. The park has a nice amount of benches, parking lot along with street parking and a nice MLK memorial as you make your way around the park. Not the biggest park, but a lively and decent one a little off from the growing center of downtown Montclair.

I've driven past the park on so many times, but never realized from Harrison Ave just how expansive the park is. If you drive past the fire station on the corner of Harrison and Cedar, you won't see the sprawling passive green, walking paths, baseball field, basketball courts, and playground. Apparently, there's also a public pool (I didn't see that when I visited). So the day of the Jazz Festival, I was surprised that Nishuane was able to contain all festival goers that Saturday. There was even an area in the park where there were a slew of food trucks and vendor stands. It's nice to know that this park serves as the locations for this and other community events. Also, if you like to walk, I'd also recommend checking out the massive mansions on Stonebridge Road, between Sutherland and Llewelyn. Stonebridge is parallel with Harrison Ave. Beautiful, old homes. It's a very family friendly park and a wonderful place to spend your Saturday.

I wasn't able to find many good playgrounds in and around Lincoln Park. Yes, there's a small…read moreplayground nearby, but it doesn't have swings and only has one slide. One day while coming back from Costco, we noticed Centennial Park. It is mainly a children's playground, with a small gravel walking path and a couple of benches for adults. When I searched online, I found very few photos of the park. So during our visit, we clicked around 20 pictures to help others get a better idea of what the playground looks like. My daughter is 15 months old, and she had a great time on the swings. I think kids between 2 and 10 years old would enjoy this place even more. There are multiple slides, climbing structures, a merry-go-round, and lots of other play equipment to keep them busy. There is a gravel parking area, so parking wasn't an issue. The only downside is that the park is tucked away a little inside the neighborhood instead of being on the main road. That may be why it's usually less crowded than you would expect. Overall, it's a nice neighborhood playground and a great place to bring young kids for an hour or two.

Daughter had a blast as we decided to take advantage of one of the last warm days of the year. It has structures for smaller children as well as larger children, and is beautifully decorated with large flowers that can provide shade form the hot sun on a summer day. I was informed by another mom here that this playground was recently renovated. There's also a large grass area and a small trail behind the playground. Tons of space and options. The frog and bear structures at the entrance are actually small trash cans- both a good and bad idea as it's aesthetically pleasing, however not an obvious trash can and leading young kids like my daughter to try to play with them (it took a few minutes for even me to realize they were trash cans). Minus one star as the baby swings and regular swings are on opposite ends of the playground, making it impossible to push both your older child and toddler child at the same time.

You can also check out the smaller field and show your support as the local little league teams play baseball on the 60 ft diamond. There's also a full sized 90 ft diamond as well as lighted tennis courts, pickle ball, basketball, roller hockey, and volleyball courts.    In the warmer months they hold concerts and live events at the gazebo area and they also have a horseshoe pit which can sometimes get competitive. Not saying I'm a ringer or nothing but I have been known to throw a shoe now and again, just don't forget to bring your wallet Lol.    This park is always well maintained and clean and they're very serious about keeping that way. Dogs are welcomed as long as they're picked up after and there are restrooms located near the front parking lots. Come And Get Your Activities On!!

Per the township website and as is apparent once you arrive at this well-maintained, clean and beautiful park, it offers the following: Basketball court Bike and jogging path around the perimeter of the park Four lighted tennis courts Gazebo Horseshoe Pit Little League diamond (60 feet) Picnic area Playground Restrooms Standard size baseball field (90 feet) Tennis practice wall Tot playground next to the small diamond Two roller hockey courts Volleyball court Black Brook also offers a snack bar during baseball season, as well as picnic rentals. Even with overcast skies, it was great to be able to enjoy the fresh air and get the endorphins released today at such a pleasant spot. If you're a walker/runner, you may not find the perimeter of the trails adequate in terms of the stretch of trails (you can do multiple loops) but what's nice about this park is that you can venture into the very nice surrounding residential developments to get more distance in, with inclines/downhills. This review is specifically for the dog park as I've come here twice in the past two months just…read morefor that. I had to meet some family halfway to drop a few items and this park ended up being the halfway for me. It's pretty convenient off of Route 3, and only minutes away from the Garden State Parkway. Additionally, it's only 15 mins or so away from the American Dream mall. The park is huge, most of which I've yet to explore (including the views of the NYC skyline). The dog park is just past the first parking lot (I believe the main lot) you see. You can park on the street (there are two huge spots) right in front of the dog parks or you can park in the parking lot and walk right down the hill towards the dog park. There are two dog parks - one for small dogs and the other for larger dogs. Both look equivalent, except one is obviously bigger. My dog was mostly sniffing the leaves that fell in the fall and perhaps has gotten to the age where he's uninterested in anything outside of sniffing things. For younger, more active dogs, this is a fun place to just play. You can definitely give your dog some good exercise going up and down ladders and such. The people also are pretty nice and the dog park is largely clean. People do pick up their poop, which is very important. This is a pretty good place to let your dog loose for a bit.
