This is a nice, little park to walk if you want to do laps. There is a lake with a fountain. It's in Upper Montclair. There are a few parking spots in the semi-circle, one-way entrance, but you can also park on Valley or on one of the nearby local streets. read more

A nice public park with a few one-way streets around it - parking can be a little crazy when there are events in the park. Lots of running paths and a little waterway and lake for fishing. A big tree in the center and a memorial to the side. read more

I went here after work to enjoy a nice walk. It is quite a lovely park which has something for everyone.There is a big pond with 2 long paths, a baseball field, as well as a playground. It does get crowded but it's very manageable. The grass is clean and well kept and perfect for a picnic .There is also a lovely WWI memorial and a beautiful cherry blossom tree. Beware! I was walking with my daughters on a Saturday. The park was crowded with people walking and kids on scooters. Suddenly I was hit from behind by a child on a scooter. I fell to the ground, broke my wrist and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. After 4 hours of surgery I am still recuperating almost a month after my injury. The park should not allow scooters and bicycles on the same path with people walking! Very dangerous and I will never go to that park again! read more

This is a cute, no-frills sort of park in Upper Montclair. There is a centralized pond, a long and windy walking/jogging path, a small playground for the kids and scattered benches here and there. My major issue is that the walking path has very little shade, which makes it too hot for the majority of a summer day. You'll see typical park wildlife (ducks, geese, occasional herons), and that's pretty much it. They used to have winter ice skating; not sure if that's still the case. If you're in the area, check it out, but otherwise, it's a nice-enough 3 star park, yet it's a notch below several others in suburban Essex County. read more

Not a bad park amongst pretty surroundings. Lake in the middle with geese. Small part but nice for a walk. I much prefer the nearby Brookdale Park which offers so much more. Large size playground for the young kids and ample benches. The one major drawback is the tons and tons of geese poo everywhere you walk. You need to walk with your eyes peeled to the ground so you do not stand in it! read more

A beautiful park on your way to Upper Montclair. I stopped here with Mira after a festival in Downtown Montclaire and walked around the small pond. The fountains in the middle gave it a nice touch. It was very relaxing and the area is kept very clean. What a good day! read more

This is a small park in the middle of Montclair. There is a fenced in playground area for the kids. Its across from a lower school, so sees alot of action certain times of the year/day. They do host baseball and football here, and there are a ton of games. There is a small pond here with a statue in it. The pond also has an Egret (bird) that comes back year after year to see what he can find food wise. There is a walking path around the park. There are also alot of geese in the park and it can get messy, which is too bad. But they do their best to keep it clean. You will see lots of walkers here in the morning. There is a small parking lot which is often full. But there is street parking around the park too. read more

We don't live close to this park but it's worth the drive for a change of scene from our usual stomping grounds. The playground is great and has things suitable for a wide range of ages. The duck pond and surrounding fields are clean and well-maintained. There aren't very many trees so shade is sparse. Be sure to bring some sun block. read more

The park itself is not that big. It's no Brookdale, but a lot more relaxing with nicer views. The fountain is nice (don't drink from it). There's a playground and a small running trail, but I mostly find myself running past this park rather than in it. read more

I love this park. Has a large fenced playground for children to play in, a pond with a fountain, local events are sometimes hosted here, Its beautiful and very peaceful. Have been having picnics here almost every evening in the past week instead of dinning at home trying to enjoy every minute of the summer. read more

I would describe Edgemont Park as a good walking park and/or a good one to take the kids/dogs to. They have a good sized playground area as well as a modestly sized field to play in or run the dogs. If one is looking for a park to run or ride a bicycle in, I would recommend the nearby and much larger Brookdale Park for that, given that the paths (there's really only one) at Edgemont are pretty narrow. Brookdale has much larger paths and a 1/4 mile track. Having said that, Edgemont suited me fine for what I needed it for over the weekend. It offered a spot off the main path for me to jump rope while gazing over a nice little pond with a fountain. read more

I love this little park! It has a pretty big lake with some grass areas behind it - perfect for some Frisbee, football, or soccer. There's also a trail which you can run/jog to. On the weekends, you'll walk by and see a junior soccer league playing matches which is pretty cool. There's also a big playground for the younger kids. read more

My kiddos love this park! They're 3 & 4. Best things about this park is the beautiful lake & landscaping. Makes for a great picnic. The FREE Easter egg hunt and photo with the Easter bunny ($3). The playground itself. My kids love the rubberized ground and I'm sooo happy there are no wood chips! Overall it's clean, has lots of kids & sports during the weekends, great spot for bday parties in shaded picnic area but there's no bathroom. read more

Nice large park with a great, fenced in child's playground. Paved walkway around the pond, but sadly no access to the island. Bring a picnic and blanket and enjoy the pond and ducks. Playground kept 2 four years olds entertained for almost 2 hours. Only port-pottys at park - boo. But overall a great place to enjoy the outside. read more

This is a nice park very tranquil and serene. Just watch out for the goose and duck poop everywhere! They have softball fields, nice trail for walking your dogs, benches to sit along the lake, and nice for families. good neighborhood. you can park on the street. A+ read more
