I called Grover Electric this morning and Ric was able to come out this afternoon and diagnose the problem with one of my breakers tripping. It turned out that one of my old power strips was bad and that caused the breaker not being able to reset. It took Ric less than an half an hour to get everything working again. We had a circuit trip over the weekend and while we thought we had reset the breaker right, and tried multiple others, nothing seemed to restore power to that section of the home. We called in Ric and he came a few days later. When he arrived he did a quick assessment and much to my embarrassment properly reset the tripped breaker and everything was back to normal. Because it was so fast and easy and he was luckily already in the neighborhood he refused to charge us. He didn't have to. I would have gladly paid him for his time. Ric is a really understanding and upstanding guy. He also gave us tips on how to avoid the issue in the future, including both what we can do ourselves and what it would take to upgrade or add a circuit. The bedrooms in my house don't have recessed lighting so I started researching on Yelp. I found Grover Electric and chose them based on the reviews, verified license, and the fact that they're in Danville. When I started requesting for quotes, Ric Grover was the only vendor who offered to FaceTime which was an amazing first touch to get to know me and my vision for the bedroom lighting. After a few text messages, we had an appointment scheduled for the following week. On the day of the install; Pepe, who was the foreman on the job came by to get started. Pepe is super friendly, entertaining, and really knows what he's talking about. Not only was he able to do the job quickly, but he made everything look so perfect in terms of light placement and temperature. The job took less than 8 hours to complete for 12 lights across 3 rooms. On top of a great job, Pepe offered some electrical advice and even helped me with a few small things around the house that's beyond my electrical expertise. So like any "honest" licensed C7 low voltage contractor, I hate dealing with line voltage & most electrical projects. Wood working, plumbing, minor construction/landscaping & painting, no problem. I found Grover Electric through Yelp, searching for home EV charger install. Pressed the button to get a quote. Ric was quick to respond via the Yelp messaging. Provided a number to text or call to schedule a video call for the quote. Doing a video call is ingenious so they don't have to come out twice. Through the video call, Ric was very quick to take a look at our electrical panel area and identified where our new outlet would go. (Just below our electrical panel.) Pretty quickly gave us a price after basically one look through the phone camera as to where it was going to be installed. When we decided to set up an installation appointment, just texted the same number with a couple of days that worked for us. Got a response for a time range on one of the days, ended up working for us. Day-of we received a text message of a 35 min ETA, that was within the time range provided. Unfortunately did not get the installer's name, but he was friendly and quick. He didn't have a part so after he started the work he let me know to close my garage and that he was off to Home Depot to get some parts. Came back and was done within another 30-45 min. The panel plate was put back in place, left the area very clean after knocking the small part of the wall for the install. The power in my Master bedroom and bath was inconsistent and fluctuated when to the point where the ceiling fan light would flash on and off even when turned off. The power would flicker off and turn on or to the point where the power would shut off my CPAP machine and would wake me up. In looking at Grover Electric's reviews I was a review from a gentleman who had the same problems I did. Grover electric suggested before calling out an electrician to have PG&E to come out to check their electrical connection to make sure the problem wasn't on PG&E's side of the drop. PG&E did come out and there was no problem on their side of the power drop. I made an appointment with Grover Electric to trouble shoot my electrical problem. Pepe came out and immediately found the problem in the power panel. Pepe also did checking to insure the problem was with the power panel. In fact, Pepe could hear the problem circuit sizzle. Pepe was quick to replace the bad circuit witch solved the power delivery problem. Given the age of my house and the age of the power panel Pepe suggested to make another appointment for a power panel tune up where all the old circuits are replaced with new ones. I will make a power panel tune up with Pepe. Pepe also replaced a bad porch light switch for me on the same visit. I was lucky to work with Ric on a fairly involved project. I am installing a sauna in my backyard, which required 240 volts to be run out from the main panel, trenched, and wired up to the heater in the sauna. In addition, there was fairly involved wiring of the structure (lighting, fans, control switches). It's safe to say that the project ended up being a little more involved than either of us expected, but Ric was committed to preserving his initial price quote.
