    We recently had our house's electrical system completely redone by OSJ Electric. Ossamu and his entire crew were professional, courteous, and highly efficient. They managed any additional requests we had throughout the process with great skill. Just last week, we needed to upgrade two motion sensor flood lights, and once again, Ossamu and his team were prompt and effective, making the entire process seamless. Their pricing is fair, and OSJ Electric has promptly addressed the very few issues that arose. We highly recommend OSJ Electric.

I got answers from Darlene that did not make sense. Sometimes her computer was down other times her phone was down. Sometimes she would call to give me a message only to realize that she had called the wrong customer. Did not enjoy working with her. Finally, Kara engaged and we got the Permission to Operate about two months after the install. Supposedly Jeff (the Business Owner) is no longer with the company and has gone back East, so not sure who is leading their future efforts. For future customers: hang on to a portion of the payment till the Permission to Operate is received not just the installation.

He offered no apology and no clear explanations about his actions. Free advice: if you are not interested in the job, just say so politely. Don't be rude, discourteous, and unprofessional.

    I can't say enough good things about Carlos Gomez from Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions…read more I've been working on a non-standard solar setup using an EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra X and EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 3, and finding a contractor who truly understood this type of system was incredibly difficult. I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. He also walked me through: Proper panel selection within voltage and amperage limits Safe string configurations and series wiring How to maximize roof space while staying within code Permitting requirements I hadn't been told about before On top of that, Carlos identified critical code and safety requirements that no one else mentioned: Bollards required in the garage to protect battery units Correct battery placement to maintain required clearance from doors and entrances Heat detector requirements for battery installations in a garage These are all things that would have caused inspection failures later -- and Carlos caught them immediately. He spent well over an hour with me, climbed onto my roof to check for obstructions, inspected battery placement, reviewed wiring paths, and answered every question in detail without ever rushing me. What truly sealed the deal was how efficient and transparent the pricing process was. Carlos was able to turn around a detailed quote very quickly, and when I received it, I was honestly surprised -- it was a significant amount lower than every other quote I received, even though his evaluation was by far the most thorough. Given everything: His technical expertise The level of detail and care The ability to integrate with my existing system The fast turnaround And the much better pricing Choosing Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions was a complete no-brainer. They also handled all the back-and-forth with PG&E, which meant we didn't have to worry about a thing on that end. Dan Moran managed the project and kept everything streamlined throughout. After installation, he came back out for a consultation with my husband and me to walk us through the app and show us how to get the most out of our system. Cassius Camus, our energy consultant, helped us get set up with the right plan from the start, and Colton led a clean, professional installation. Every part of the process felt carefully handled. If you're considering solar, I'd highly recommend this team. They are professional, organized, and locally owned! They made a complicated process feel simple, and the job got done in record time as well.

When we raised concerns, I believe the salesperson my partner dealt with wanted to make things right, but sales leadership stepped in, dismissed our concerns as unfounded, and offered nothing. Those concerns were (and still are): 1) Sketchy contract execution. NPP offers a 5-year prepaid lease in partnership with Balto Energy. It lets homeowners offset installation costs because the leasing company collects a 30% federal tax credit (no longer available to homeowners) and, in NPP's words, "monetizes that tax credit over 5 years." The contract was executed by sending the DocuSign to just one partner, with all owners lumped onto a single signature line -- one person signing on behalf of the other. For a married couple in California, that's legally questionable under community property law, given a) the encumbrances placed on jointly owned property, and b) no power of attorney authorizing one spouse to sign for the other. I never saw the agreement until installation was underway. 2) Misleading claims. My partner was told, verbally and in writing, that we'd "own the system outright" at the end of the 5-year term. In truth, the contract contains only vague language about a fair-market-value buyout, with no detail on how to initiate it or who to contact at end of lease. We've had zero contact with Balto through this entire process -- only NPP -- yet NPP's sales director told us they have no role in the lease agreement once it's signed. In other words, they don't stand behind the product they sell. Don't be like us -- do your diligence (especially if you're over 65 and new to solar leases), verify every claim against the actual contract language, and make sure all owners review and sign every agreement.

The many moving parts to our residential solar plus battery system, including the various entities, such as PG&E, Tesla, City inspectors, and the financial backers we opted to use all progressed seamlessly and, for us effortlessly, thanks to hard working individuals behind the scenes. In particular, Skyler could not have been more helpful, managing our project and acting as a point of contact. Others included David in sales who demystified the process, Varon who coordinated with the utility to ensure we met all requirements, and Gino, who collaborated with Maxwell Power (formerly HDM Renewable Finance), the clean-energy company that helped finance our residential system. On site, the design and install team did a great job keeping things simple. The entire system, including battery and thirteen panels, was installed according to Ramiros's expert design within just four hours. Good quality hardware was used to tie to the roof, which was inspected by our roofer and given a big thumbs up for not causing problems. But even before that, David our site survey tech, gave us the sense that all would proceed well, as he collected necessary data by drone, and made a favorable first impression with his personable approach. Toward the end of the multi-month process, which included time to get a new roof installed, we passed city inspection with YES tech, Dario, an extremely courteous young man, present to ensure we made it through that last step and PTO (permission to operate). YES has an excellent and well-deserved reputation because of these people and others who worked on our behalf. The company can do better automating some of the process, and to be fair, they say they are working on transitioning to a CRM software solution for this purpose. My parents purchased solar from a HORRIBLE company that sounds a lot like 'SunFun'. After they passed away, and the house was sold...we were STILL making the monthly payments for over a year!!! That SunFun organization REFUSED to transfer the solar to the new homeowner, and eventually stopped taking or acknowledging our calls. It wasn't until we had to threaten the new homeowner with a lawsuit that SunFun finally transferred ownership. Due to this, we could not trust any of these solar companies...that is, until Kevin Bedard came to our home, and explained everything in great detail to my husband and I. He took the time to hear about our concerns, and he showed us how he truly cared. That same week, we spoke to two other families who shared their positive experiences about Ambrose Solar that made us feel that we would be in great hands. We had FINALLY FOUND A PEACE about getting solar on our home; KNOWING we would be in good hands, and we were ALL IN. It's been six months now, and we are beyond pleased with our solar panels, and the two Tesla batteries we have purchased. We are true fans, who have NOTHING but RAVE REVIEWS for this company. Any home renovation project has bumps, and this one had its fair share: after initial install they monitor the systems production remotely to see if it's doing what it's supposed to/expected to, and my system was initially under-performing. They caught it and sent out a team to problem solve it, which took a couple tries, but they didn't drag their feet, they kept on it and kept at it and got it resolved. It was no fault of theirs, just a technology glitch. Core fear was that they would give up after a couple failures and leave me following up with them to get it done, but I never had to worry about that. I also did not end up liking where they placed the control box- it was something that was going to make future maintenance of my house trim problematic down the line. They willingly moved it up a few inches for me (and my only complaint was the team that did that didn't patch the original hole as efficiently as they should have. If I had understood the box placement better on the first pass that would never have happened, so this is a bit of a complaint of my own making.) Jon Landsman, who sold me the system, stayed with us the whole time tracking the project, checking in, and following through on every detail, every question, every concern. He never made me feel like the demanding diva that I am, was always prompt and gracious! The bottom line is that start to finish, even with a few bumps in the road, I have zero question that this is a company that legitimately cares about doing what is right. The culture of deeply valuing customer service that they have built is unmatched by many businesses these days. I am SO pleased, and SO impressed, and I can promise that you will be too!

This year (2024) I decided that my electric bill was just too much, I was going to get solar eventually, and the longer I put it off the more it would cost me overall. I liked that they didn't harass me. Once some folks get your number they just wont stop calling. Diablo didn't bug me back in 2020 and they were not really trying the hard sale this time either. I called them, had a brief discussion about what I was looking for, and scheduled a visit. I didn't know much about solar installations, so I spoke with a friend who was familiar with these things. He told me what to look out for in terms of equipment. After I got the quote, the folks at Diablo were very helpful answering questions along these lines. Again just providing information, not trying to sell me. Diablo handled everything and scheduled a time to do the install. Overall it took about 3 days. Two days for most of the hardware and then a day about a week later to deal with the mess in my breaker box from some previous work done by another company. Then they handled everything with PG&E and about a month later everything was cleared on PG&Es end. This delay was due to PG&E processing paperwork. Overall it's working well. Just see the before and after photos below. Not of my roof but of my electric consumption. You can see some before and after values as well as how the system performed on a particularly hot day.
