Absolutely adorable- stumbled across this plant shop on our way to get coffee & WOW the plants are lush & healthy, pots and accessories selection is fantastic & prices are very fair and it's a non-profit too?! Excellent all around! Staff were helpful but not obtrusive. We came back here twice!

This adorable hole-in-the-wall garden shop has every type of air plant you would ever need! Air plants are super trendy right now, and let me say that I have not seen another store with this many different species. The air plants are clearly labeled that specifies how it blooms and information for upkeep. It was hard to choose which one to take home! In addition, the clerk was patient and informative with my numerous questions about air plant survival (my green thumb is lacking). Definitely a wonderful shop to stop in for your air plant needs!

Super cute not for profit shop! Great variety of plants and pots and super kind employees. Thanks!

I love this place. Really mellow vibes, beautiful flora, and an overall solid and respectable mission. Quick tips: - they can plant any of your flowers/plants for $0.50-$1.00 -they will help get you the right sized pot for you selection -they gift wrap...and it looks so beautiful! This has turned into my go to stop for birthday and event presence. I simply go there, find a plant that I like, pick out a pot that I like, and they take care of the rest. It's wonderful! They are so nice and so helpful!

I was in SLO for work and wanted find some plant babies to bring home. I found this GEM on yelp and wanted to stop by hoping to find some goodies. My boyfriend and I were greeted by Janine who was beyond helpful and a great person to speak to all around. She spoke to us about the store and what they were all about. We loved the store and the fact that they supported those with mental illness helping them by having them help around the store. LOVE THIS! I had the hardest time deciding on which plants I wanted to bring home. I ended up going with a begonia and an elephant ear. I am so happy I found this store and that my boyfriend supports my plant addiction. I'll be stopping by one last time before I head home to find another plant baby and to support this amazing store! Kudos to Janine! Also, the paper bag we got to put our plants in was put together by a worker who suffers from mental illness and I personally wanted to say THANK YOU and you guys are AMAZING!!

How could I not stop in?

Love supporting non-profits and this one is extra special. Their message is ~ Hope through horticulture - nurturing plants and people. Helping support folks struggling with mental health issues. Nature does something to you. It awakens your happy cells. Gardening is definitely one of the things that always brightens my day. Wasn't planning on stopping in here but I couldn't pass it up when I noticed their adorable and narrow secret garden from the street. I picked up a few air plants that hang from shells and gourds and I was inspired to make my own little project at home by hanging them all from a beautiful piece of driftwood that I found on the beach. The lady who assisted me was extremely helpful and gave me tips on keeping all these beautiful plants healthy and strong.

I had visited the downtown SLO space and picked out quite a few plants to decorate a good size office. I eagerly waited all month since they are only open to the public twice a month. I was very excited to visit and receive some help finding what I needed for the office space and I was met was a pretty unhelpful guy. "We are not set up to hand-hold. We are set up for landscaping purchases. You kinda need to go find stuff yourself." Are you serious? You have an empty lot, no other customers, and a guy who wants to spend money and you won't take the time to help him out with his purchase? That's poor customer service and bad business.

They are only open from 10am til 3pm on Thursday through Saturday right now, but you can go to their web site at polyplantshop and get ideas before you go in, then call to make your appointment. It's only two people at a time, and appointments are set up for each half hour. We drove in from Highway 1, through the parking lots near the Engineering Buildings, then turned left and headed up toward the Agriculture Department. It is officially Building 48 at the end of Via Carta Road. On the way, we saw a flock of wild turkeys and a field of horses, so it was a fun animal spotting expedition that kids would enjoy. We pulled into the small parking lot and found out that we didn't have to pay to park, then ambled in. We were immediately greeted by a very personable student, who showed us the wide array of potted succulents, and clearly explained pricing. We put our selections in a cardboard tray given us by the student workers, and wandered around, gazing at some varieties we had never seen before. There are tiny pots for $3, small pots for $5, and an assortment of larger pots for $10-14. We wanted to fill a large bronze colored planter box with a big range of plants, and looked for unusual specimens. I liked the pinkish ones, and also chose some stripey plants that I had not seen elsewhere. My total for eight plants was $40. and the best part was that it benefits Cal Poly and their "Learn by Doing" Nursery Shop. The lovely worker even added a bouquet of flowers for my Mom!

We just closed on our house at the end of January and have had big plans for various landscaping projects. Mike came out, evaluated the property, gave us so much valuable information that we didn't even think about. Mike walked the property and showed us existing plants that needed care, made recommendations on what type of plant could be planted in certain areas....Finally, we decided we wanted to plant a small vineyard for our property and we knew what types of grapes (mostly table). When we mentioned Cotton Candy grapes, Mike said he wouldn't sell us grapes that are hard to grow and temperamental. Being first time grape growers, we had no idea...we just knew we liked to eat them from the grocery store (No wonder they're so expensive)! We did get our grape plants from MIke and they are GORGEOUS!! DON'T TACKLE YOUR PROJECT ALONE!!! Call Mike at North County trees. You'll be glad you did!!

So knowledgeable and gave us wonderful advise on the best trees and plants for the very hot days and cold nights. Being in the country and we needed quite a few trees, and we ended up getting about 30. We bought Olive trees, Raywood Ash, Mulberry, Leyland Cypress, and fruitless Plums. All are thriving and with the advice on fertilizing and care they are huge, much taller than we expected in just a few years. We had something going after our fruitless plums this year, I sent a picture and within the hour he emailed back and told us what pest were attack (pincher bugs) and how to get rid of them. So what I love is that long after North County Trees sold us our trees, they are still there to help diagnose any issues we might have with seasonal pests. My son just bought in Pacific Palisades and is redoing all the landscaping and is seriously considering driving up here so he can use them. The prices are unbeatable.

It was a difficult and stressful decision because I really didn't want to return the drill, but I had no other choice. The young associate at the Service Desk was courteous and doing his best, but he was unable to process the refund. The original debit card I used to purchase the drill was tied to a bank account that had since been closed, so refunding the original payment method wasn't possible. A store credit also wouldn't help because I needed the money to pay my bills. The associate repeatedly told me there were no other options and even tried to convince me that calling a manager wouldn't make any difference. I respectfully disagreed. I simply wanted to make sure every possible option had been explored before giving up. I asked that a manager come over so I could hear the answer directly from someone with the authority to make those decisions. While the associate was explaining the situation over the phone, I had to remind him to mention one of the most important details--that my original bank account had been closed. That was a key part of why this wasn't a typical return and why I felt a manager's assistance was appropriate. Manager Daniel came over and immediately approached the situation with a positive attitude and a genuine desire to help. Instead of focusing on why something couldn't be done, he focused on finding a solution. After working through the issue, he was able to authorize a cash refund. Daniel completely turned around what had been a very stressful experience. He demonstrated excellent leadership, strong problem-solving skills, and a customer-first attitude that I believe every manager should strive for. As someone who spends a significant amount of money at Home Depot, this is exactly the level of service that keeps customers coming back. I also hope the associate learned something valuable from the experience. Sometimes the answer isn't "no"--it's simply that the situation requires someone with additional authority or experience. Daniel showed that taking a few extra minutes to explore every option can make a tremendous difference in a customer's day. Thank you, Daniel, for your professionalism, compassion, and outstanding customer service. Home Depot made an excellent decision in promoting you to a management position, and I hope your leadership is recognized. You made my day, and I'm truly grateful.
