Grub is awesome!! Side street parking, order at the counter & seat yourself. Amazing menu and options. You cannot go wrong with ordering anything here!! Friendly staff.

So good! Such a cute atmosphere with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. A perfect place to meet a friend for some brunch! Great southern food, and I HAVE to go back to try out their lunch and/or dinner menu.

Stopped by this place on a Sunday morning for brunch around 11 AM. There were about five people ahead of us, but the line moved quickly. You place your order at the front counter and can choose to sit either inside or outside while waiting for your food. We started with a coffee and a smoothie--both were absolutely delicious! For breakfast, we had the breakfast platter, which came with perfectly cooked over-medium eggs, sweet maple bacon, and flavorful breakfast potatoes. The only downside was the bagel, which was a bit too hard--likely over-toasted. We also tried the breakfast sandwich on a biscuit, and it was amazing! Very generous in size and packed with flavor. Can't wait to come back!

We went here on a sunny Sunday morning and WHAT A TREAT! We waited in line for 10-15 minutes to order before we self-sat upstairs on the half covered/half open patio. It took a long while (20-30 minutes) to get our food out but the aesthetic and nice weather made it easy to kill time. The menu was a fun mix and match deal so things are affordable enough to get 2-3 on the menu. My breakfast was fresh and delicious. 10/10 on the biscuit! We will definitely return!

Scrumptious food! Trendy, cozy atmosphere! Wicked fast service! Reasonable prices! This place has it all!!! I ordered the biscuit and gravy. I love this dish and this is one of my favorite examples of all time! Perfect biscuit with crispy exterior, crumbly texture and buttery rich flavor. It is covered with rich, creamy, buttery, savory gravy. This is heaven on a plate! I am watching my carbs, but have no regrets for this deluctable off-diet brunch. Their coffee is from local roaster and is really good quality. No bitterness, just smooth dark chocolate coffee goodness. Note: it wasn't a flavored coffee, just referring to its character. They have indoor seating, outdoor covered seating and covered/uncovered roofdeck seating. It offers a cool vibe! I have been wanting to try grub on many past visits to Durham and gald I finally made it!!!

I've driven by here many times and always said I'll try it one day. Well this weekend we headed here and parking was crazy. It was packed but service was pretty decent. We decided to sit outside because the weather was perfect! They have a decent menu that's not overwhelming and you can order any menu item any time of the day! I like that....we had the smoked wings, a burger and sweet potato fries. Everything was cool but the price was soooo affordable!

Typical fun college town bar and grill ambiance...very fun! The food was excellent! I had the turkey sandwich with cranberry relish and my wife had the tremendous burger with bacon. Both of them were delicious and excellent! You order when you come in and then sit. They bring the food to you. The service was very nice but it's not a sit down service experience. Great place!

Went here for the first time on a Sunday morning. It was a great visit. Food was delicious and the rooftop was nice. The ambiance was nice! Not too loud pretty chill place even though they were busy. Overall would definitely come back for sure and would definitely recommend this place. Definitely a long line but worth the wait.

Very unique restaurant in the heart of Durham! Restaurant is order at the counter and an employee will bring you your food. I ordered the I've Been Chopped salad with honey balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The croutons were the best part because they're made from GRUB biscuits. Prices were very affordable too. The parking lot is SMALL so be prepared to possibly park on the street. The food was good, so I'd go again...but this place needs a good scrub because there were way too many flies inside.

This place is impressive as soon as you step in! The parking is a bit challenging but as you enter you're greeted by a friendly & exceptional manager who is very knowledgeable and willing to help out with your selection and seating. The food comes fast and is sooo savory! I had the breakfast 'Slammer' which consisted of turkey sausage, two eggs any style, ( I chose over easy) A buttermilk flapjack and a small bowl of cheese grits. The only thing I would change is that next time I'll add in cayenne pepper but other than that, this is a new go-to spot for me...! Oh, & did I mention the nostalgia music as you walk in? EXCEPTIONAL...!

Great place right by Duke gardens and the south-point mall. They have beautiful seating outside on the rooftop! The food was light and filling at the same time it all tasted fresh and not greasy. The service for our food was pretty quick felt like we barely waited. It was a but confusing for our first time bot knowing we had to order at the entrance before choosing our own seating. Overall pretty good place for brunch!

As a vegetarian, there were admittedly pretty limited options, but I was aware of that going in and still wanted to try out this Durham institution. You get complimentary Focaccia (not once, but twice!), with perfectly crusty outside, bouncy inside, and a wonderful olive oil. If I had known this beforehand, probably would not have ordered the Dinner Rolls- nonetheless, they were delightful (pillowy soft and came with an airy butter). As an appetizer, we got the Little Gem Lettuce, which was a little too salty for my taste, and I felt the citrus accentuated the saltiness even more. However, my friends thought it was seasoned well so take this with a grain of salt lol. But I did enjoy the creaminess of the dressing and the crunch from the topping; also, it was pleasant to eat along with some bread. For my entrée, I got the Spaghettini. This was my first time trying shaved black truffle and I was underwhelmed, but I loved the pasta itself, which had a really unique bite to it and was rich but not heavy. The pasta dishes are on the smaller side with regards to portion. Last but definitely not least: the Hot Chocolate Soufflé. Oh my gosh. When I say this was heavenly, I could literally hear angels singing as I took my first bite. The hot fudge was velvety but not overwhelming, the soufflé soft, and perfectly balanced by the cool bourbon-caramel ice cream. This is assembled table side so you get a fun little show as well haha. We've been to Aaktun in Durham multiple times for both breakfast and dinner, and it's honestly become one of our favorite spots. Having also grown up in Mexico and lived in places like Miami, I really appreciate what they're doing with the menu: a modern, delicious take on Latin flavors that feels creative without losing what makes those cuisines special. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. You walk in thinking it's a stylish little coffee shop, then head toward the back and the whole place opens up -- gorgeous bar, tropical touches, cozy alcove seating, really cool vibe. One time we went with friends for a special dining experience they were offering, and it was excellent. The food, drinks, and whole experience were made even better by Fernando, the manager, who has always been incredibly warm, helpful, and accommodating. Highly recommend Aaktun for breakfast or dinner. Still haven't made it there for lunch somehow, but at this point we'd be shocked if it wasn't great too. La comida, las bebidas y toda la experiencia fueron aún mejores gracias a Fernando, el gerente, que siempre ha sido súper amable, atento y servicial. It's even better when they don't assume how much food is for you, especially when you're ordering to entrees to yourself to balance out the carbs and protein Needless to say, they'll be seeing me often.

I only got to take a picture of just a couple of what we ordered. My favorites: Little Asada - so flavorful and cooked perfectly Octopus and butter beans- prepared perfectly not rubbery. Great choice DIY hand roll - really fun and inventive way although had to fight to make my own roll NC Crudo - this tuna was really fresh. I mean it didn't taste like fish. It tasted like steak. Love the flavors they added to it. ceviche - great choice with the plantains Gambas à la plancha - the OG. Highly recommended. Shrimp cooked perfect. Overall it was so amazing. Service was great also they had a fun little wine list. Pro tip: in the spring get a spot out in the patio or outside. Highly recommended. Will be back!

I had a few drinks earlier in the weekend here with a friend, so I knew the bartender wasn't foolin' around. His recommendation of the Bull City Brisket was a ringer: a huge portion of smokey beef brisket (I know, pork is the only official NC barbecue, but this cow slaps!), creamy mac and cheese, not nearly enough grilled corn on the cob, a dab of Cole slaw, and deep fried jalapeño cornbread. All was presented nicely (this _is_ the lobby of the Marriott, right?), at their bar or table service. There was a small pitcher of sauce for the meat (and you'd be forgiven for using the cornbread to sop up a bit), which was thick and smoky. I was able to finish it, but it was touch-and-go at the end. Sitting in the bright, shiny gleam of this modern hotel lobby, I still felt I was dining with someone's MeeMaw on the back porch. A word about the bar: there are the requisite purse hooks, but also power outlets spaced under the bar. A sad but needed commentary on our connected society, but Table South made it feel normal.
