We have been going to BBB since day one. Unfortunately the experience has slowly been disappointing. The bartender is noticeably unfriendly and comes across as irritated when asked simple questions about the menu. There is no welcoming attitude, which immediately sets an uncomfortable tone for the visit. On top of that, the cleanliness of the restaurant has a lot to be desired. Tables aren't wiped down properly, the floors looked like they have not been swept in a while, bathrooms are ALWAYS dirty and the bar area is always cluttered and sticky. It's hard to fully enjoy a meal when the environment doesn't feel clean or well-maintained. Breakfast should feel warm and inviting, but at BBB, the experience feels the opposite. With better customer service and more attention to cleanliness, this place could improve significantly. Unfortunately, we wont rush back. read more

They are clearly leaning into the look and feel of a classic East Coast diner, with chrome details, comfy booths, and pops of color that give it that nostalgic, lived-in charm. My husband kept it simple with the Breakfast Plate and it was still a hit. Two eggs sunny-side up, thick-cut bacon, wheat toast, and a crispy hash cake that I definitely stole a few bites of. I arrived at 10:46am on a Sunday for a date. I was told it would be a 10-15 min wait. We only waited about 5 minutes. Sarah was waitress who came a minute after being seated. We got the breakfast margarita and breakfast dude to drink, along with waters. We ordered food at 11:04am. Waitress said cocktails are almost ready. We got the flapjacks to share. After checking with the hotel front desk, we decided to try this spot -- and it did not disappoint. It was surprisingly busy for a Wednesday morning, but the service was still great. I came here this past Sunday, right at prime time, at 10:30 am, and the place was hopping. The hostess told us it would be a 15 - 20 minute wait, and asked for my cell number and said, we will get an automated text when our table is ready. We went next door to the rally house to check out the Duke Swag, and 8 minutes later we got the text. Always under promise and over deliver. After sitting for a few minutes, our friendly waitress came over with glasses and asked if had any quesitons, which we did not. I ordered the biscuits with sausage gravy. It was fantastic. The biscuit was flaky and well cooked. It stood up to the fantastic sausage gravy and never got mushy. The gravy was fantastic, it wasnt to pasty, and had tons of sausage crumbles in it. Unexpected amazing experience. I don't frequent the Durham area too much. I come whenever my boyfriend is here for work. I sat at the bar because I had some work to do and plenty of seating was available. I was greeted immediately by the bartender and she grabbed me a water, cappuccino and I did have a mimosa as well. I was torn on what to order so she recommends the Hash Benny. I've worked in the restaurant industry at some brunch spots and would have never recommended a Benny because it's so hit or miss. BUT this was so damn good. Instead of an English muffin, the base is a crispy hash brown about an inch thick. The ham was a little charred and had good caramelization. It was sweet but savory. Probably one of the best brunch bites I've ever had. The team was really nice. It seemed like everyone was enjoying their shifts and also having fun with the guests. After I wrapped up my work and was speaking with the bartender, come to find out she is the director of operations, who would have thought?! But what I really enjoyed most was that she assisted me without adding in the extras of who she was and really seemed to care about my experience. My friend and I came for brunch on a Saturday morning, and not only was our waitress super friendly, welcoming, and sweet, but at least 5 other staff members stopped by our table to make sure we were doing good and enjoying our food while we dined in. All of the employees seemed like wonderful people and I'd say service wise - this was an easy 5/5 experience. I ordered kekes breakfast wrap with fries. The server also recommended to get it with jalapeño's and black beans. This was the correct recommendation. It was filling and tasty.
