At the end of 2013, I was involved in a three-car accident while stopped at a red light. An SUV hit the car behind me and the force of the collision drove that car into mine. My car was damaged a bit, but I suffered some whiplash and headaches for which I went to Stanford Hospital to get checked out. Fortunately, I had insurance which covered most of the hospital visit but I still had to pay out of pocket and I ended up missing a few days of work as well. The other side's insurance company felt I was not injured at all and refused to compensate me for anything except the repairs to my car. My Dad was a visitor from China and only stayed couple months here. No automobile insurance coverage from States.
