I brought our 55 Chevy in for routine maintenance and suspension adjustments. All work was done as asked and within the estimate provided. Extra care was taken with a plastic seat cover and floor mat protection which was appreciated as the interior is new. I always enjoy the team at Grumpy's and to see all of the great projects and upgrades the car customers are having done here. Grumpy's has done a ton of work on our car and they have always kept me updated on any challenges and concerns to include any costs associated with finding something unexpected. I have seen other reviews from customers who have faced some challenges Which can be very frustrating, but I have never had this experience. The team at Grumpy's have always been very professional, with great care taken with my car and the work being performed. Not one to leave reviews often - but my recent interactions with Grumpys makes it necessary to leave an open and honest review so others don't deal with issues I have had. For one, I agree with the below review, the lady they have working in the office is blatantly rude, talks a lot and over you, interrupts you when you have points of concern to mention. If you agree to their BS she is fine, the minute you question items or express concerns she will talk over you and shut you up rudely. As it has happened to me. Took many of my cars in for work over a span of several years of continual work, anytime a car goes in it typically comes back out with unresolved items forcing a second repair visit for another large invoice, or it comes back for a different issue. Seems like every-time my cars have visited the shop it always comes back worse than it went in. Given their expensive rates and poor quality - I would strongly recommend you take your car to a different shop over Grumpys. Very poor quality work, fail to standby work by having you talk to the dumb blonde girl who thinks she can talk fast and use fancy words to discredit and undermine a customers thoughts or concern. Save your money and go to a better shop. Let alone the fact I caught one of their employees running errands and joy riding my car while it was supposed to be in for repair only. read more

So not only is this place full of price gouging and unknowledgeable mechanics, now they are trying to lie to squirm out of how corrupt they are! Never take your vehicle there. Let me start by saying, as much as I feel the pain of others who left reviews, I'm just glad I'm not the only one who had a bad experience with this shop. It started out good, but one of the owners was rude and unprofessional on more than 1 occasion, In person and over the phone. She has no business being the face of Grumpy's! She yells at customers, unprovoked, and talks over you, but as soon as you start to answer her, she talks over you again and reprimands you for talking over her. She wont release your vehicle, even tho it's paid in full up front. Then they supposedly ordered parts for my car, yet cannot produce any receipts for the purchase? Not to mention the overcharges, making stuff up to charge me for, just to make it look like they don't owe me any of my up front money back. It seems like some shady stuff is going on there. (especially after reading other reviews with similar experiences) Most of the workers/mechanics are decent, but they are all drinking the water and have no mind of their own, and cant even stand up for themselves! Trust the reviews. They seem like decently genuine people but I'm not sure if they really know what they are doing. I installed a full edelbrock top end kit on my 67 mustang 302 finished it and needed a bit of help getting it running properly. I took it to them and requested that they take a look at it because I was hearing a strange tick when I did briefly start it after the kit installation. Mind you when I did start it it ran for a maximum of 5 minutes it fired immediately had 55 psi of oil pressure and before I shut it off I saw that my temp gauge started to climb a bit. After it being with them for about a week I get a call telling me that one of my rockers weren't fully tightened and I needed a fuel pressure regulator and that the cam break in went smoothly. Thought it a bit strange at the time but I trusted it and said they could go through with it. Shortly later I'm told I can come pick up the car, I get over to the place and pay mind you $1900 dollars for a fuel pump regulator and a rocker adjustment and a cam break in, I start to drive the car away and it's running insanely bad like I cannot get the car to go over 40 mph and it stutters like hell when accelerating and cherry on top off all of that my Speedometer didn't work Tachometer no longer worked my thermostat gauge wasn't working the only gauge that was working was my oil pressure gauge and I'd wished that one wasn't working too because it was reading about 20 psi at speed and 7 psi at idle. I immediately took the car back and told them they needed to fix this and they tweaked with the timing and said it was good (it was not at all) I had to leave it with them again because I was already late for work and I'm military and those things don't mix well. I get another call at the end of the following week and they are recommending gaskets for pretty much everything in the engine bay including the transmission pan which was leaking and I'd observed but kinda just got into it with the guy because it seemed like they were recommending the most random things that were far from the issue I brought the car in for. Finally told the guy I'm not paying for anything more that doesn't get the car running and driving properly and the oil pressure tested. Get another call from the guy saying the car is completely ready to go, so I go over there and ask the guy if he had his mechanic's check the oil pressure with a test gauge and he said he did but didn't give me a pressure reading. Take it for a drive and now notice my radio I installed no longer works and the oil pressure gauge that was the only thing working no longer works on top of that my factory temp gauge (that has never worked in my 5 years of owning the car) some reason showed some life and was moving during the test drive. Ask the guy about it when I get back and he said one of his techs might have wired it up because he saw them working in the dash. At this point I just wanted to get the thing out of that shop and get it back home so I could figure out another shop to take a look at it so I figure it shouldn't be to big of a problem getting it home 30 min back to base as long as it has good oil pressure and what seemed like a working temp gauge (Big mistake) about half way through the drive I come to the conclusion that the factory gauge that had seemed to be working was completely not and just randomly going to hot and cold and the ticking that I'd originally brought it in for was starting to get concerning loud I'm able to limp it back to my place where I promptly start double checking everything they told me they did. 1. temp gauge I thought was working for some reason wired up but not even hooked up to the intake manifold to actually read temp 2. THEY LIED ABOUT THE OIL PRESSURE! I got a bunch on new gauges because non of them worked anymore fire it up I have 7 psi of oil pressure and I drove 30 minutes home. Now I'm just second guessing everything done on the car and was kinda like meh I got scammed and I'll just move on but this one kinda stings still because now I'm questioning the entire integrity of my engine after spending a grand total of $2100. Trust me guys just work on your car yourself or find a different shop this place will take your money and leave you with far more problems. read more

I had my Camaro towed to Grumpy's because I was having a no-start issue. They were able to provide towing at the cost of $100, which I later found out from the kind tow truck driver that his fee is always 50 bucks. So right there, Grumpy made $50 without moving a finger... Now on to the big issue.. Once the car was there they began with a diagnostic fee, which I completely understood. A few days later, I get a call saying that the wiring is not done correctly, and I will be charged about 8-10 hours of labor, coming out to a total of $1500. So a few days pass, i get a call that it's all done. When I arrived at the shop, I tried getting a detailed explanation of which wiring was redone and what the exact issue was that was causing the problem, the only response I got was "I turned the key over 100 times, and it started every single time. You are good to go now"...That wasn't the answer I was looking for,but hey, if it starts, I'm happy. I'm sure the 8-10 hours of labor that were put in, I was no longer going to have issues. The same day I get home I decide to grab a flashlight and start looking under the dash, in the trunk, engine bay, basically everywhere trying to see any new wiring or new connections. Just trying to see where my $1500 in labor went to, after about 30 minutes of looking everywhere I didn't see much of a difference, didn't see anything to justify so many hours of labor. A few weeks pass by, I haven't done anything to the car besides driving it on the weekends, It decides to not start again!! Luckily, I found a shop that specializes in LS swaps, so I take it there. Come to find out, The engine harness/ignition wiring is a complete hack job and my mechanic now is honestly shocked that the car even ran before. So now Im in the process of redoing the wiring and even getting a complete new engine harness installed into the car. And get this! I'm paying $1500 in labor again to get it done the RIGHT WAY. The shop that's working on my car now has been kind enough to send me pictures of the process, and there's absolutely no way Grumpys Did the same amount of work for the $1500 that I paid them. I would bet money that Grumpys more than likely just tapped in or reconnected a few wires here and there and called it good. I did not notice the 10 hours of labor that I paid for with Grumpy. Unless, of course, I'm paying 8-10 hours for an uneducated mechanic who is basically getting paid to learn and figure out an issue that he's not even trained to fix. In my opinion, if you own a hot rod or muscle car stay far away from this shop!! Attached are a few pictures of the work that's getting done now by a shop that knows how to get things done the right way. One last thing, I'm sure I could've had the car towed back to grumpy to have a second look. But now having an opinion from someone else, I'm glad I didn't do that. read more

It's such a shame I am having to write this because the owner initially seemed like a nice guy. Courtney in the office is completely unprofessional. The moment I questioned the cost of repairs (which we paid) and got a second opinion her entire demeanor changed. She started speaking to me in a disrespectful matter of fact tone, cut me off as I was speaking as if she was reprimanding me and she even called the place I got the quote from and bullied them verbally for giving me the information they did. When she called me back after bullying the other shop she even had the nerve to criticize me for getting a second opinion. Bottom line we were over charged by Grumpy's by at least $300 in comparison to the quote received from another shop. That is not competitive pricing. After speaking with the owner he is completely aware of the way business is being run just as previous reviews have stated. I do see now why they have the bad reviews that they do and also why they are currently going through a law suit with another customer for shady business practices. This was definitely shady and Unfortunately we fell victim to the Grumpy's scam too. Notice how they had somebody go on and make a positive review less than 24 hours after I posted this. Then had the audacity to send me a negative message about leaving this review . Don't let it happen to you. Choose anywhere else. read more

I've called three times to try and get some work done on my 2024 F150 and there's a few things I wanted them to do , intake manifold , cold air intake , throttle body , upgrade full exhaust system , Stage three lowering racing suspension , short tube headers , and a few other things I wanted to do as well , but the lady I talked to laughed because she and her husband that works there said I probably wanted some springs cut so they never called me back . And I've heard a lot of good things that came out of there. I just wish I would have gotten to experience it. read more

I was going to skip this review but it's only right to warn people. I brought a newer mustang in for an engine swap (I supplied engine compression tested ect). Engine went in (direct replacement) and off I went with a nice big scratch across my hood from them washing it...and a happy customer video... that very day engine started to misfire almost immediately ...was this not tested. I went back of course and asked to diagnose, after some BS "fixes" i drive off to find the issue persists. At one point they brag about having a Dyno in house so I request to the shop manager to dyno car so I don't have to keep coming back, he says he will, he does not and I pick up a misfiring car once again. Next visit I explain my frustrations with owner and he then places it on dyno and again I receive car only to have same issue. This happens near 10 time each time seeing this as a real head scratcher, mind you this whole time I'm complaining of smelling burning coolant. The final straw was being sent home once again with a misfiring car and a set of the shops pliers sitting. On my manifold ready to fall into my belt system. I was so fed up I decided to pull manifold my self and pictures show the coolant leak that was feeding into rear cylinder causing it to misfire I am not a mechanic and found this the first time I dug into it myself (this should tell you something). After cleaning/replacing gasket (which I asked shop manager to do when installing new engine) I took the car to a local shop which took 3hrs to find the root cause was coolant leaking into that cylinder, then causing cylinder wall damage..new motor toast. This shop is lazy, have no basic diagnostic skills, and will tell you one thing and do another. read more

Tony the shop manager is extremely knowledgeable and has a genuine interest in his work as well as the vehicles that enter the shop. I took my daughters Mercedes there. Not only was I overcharged for an oil change I was charged 65 dollars to replace two bulbs. The bulbs were put in incorrectly and blew out the tail lights they couldn't figure out the tRansmission sensor and charged me over 50 bucks more for the oil change than the Mercedes specialist. They assured me they couLd work on the car. I know the owner which is why I took it there. I wouldn't take anything there again. The secretary was clueless and had no idea what she was doing. Threw away the paperwwork I gave her never ordered the parts from the list. That should have been enough. Take your car here if you have mOney and time to throw away. read more
