Over the years I have taken my vehicles to GT Car Shop. They have been consistent with great communication and making sure my vehicle was repaired with the right parts and not aftermarket parts. This is important when selling your vehicle or if you are in another accident that it crushes correctly. GT Car Shop puts the customer first and the insurance company 2nd. I have known the owner Kelly for many years and he has shared stories of adjusters trying to cut invoices and asking him to put in junkyard parts and just paint over them. He has told them to take a hike and ordered the OEM parts for the customer instead. They are not on a lot of direct referral lists with insurance companies that required shops to play by their company's rules. They are simply a good, reliable shop that does the job right. They are I-Car certified, so they can communicate easily with any insurance carrier during the repair process. I was an insurance agent for 12 years and know how it works behind the scenes. Insurance companies ask repair shops to pay fees and give them discounts in order to be a part of their referral network. If a situation arises where you need an advocate to get a repair done right, a referral company will likely side with the insurance company because they don't want to lose the account. With a shop outside their "preferred" network, they would argue for you and under the law, make the insurance company pay for your repairs. That's why I keep going back. They are also super friendly and I like their dog. read more

I have very mixed feelings about GT Car Star. To start with the positives, I think they did quality repair work. After my car was hit on the side in an accident, it looked brand new when I got it back. They also cleaned both the interior and exterior before returning it, which was a nice touch and appreciated. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. I was never given a clear timeline for the repairs and received very little communication during the nearly two months it took to get my car back. Most updates only came after I repeatedly called and tried to reach someone, and even then the information provided was often vague. My biggest concern, however, was that when I got my car back, I quickly noticed that the emergency cash I keep in the sunglasses compartment was missing. I fully acknowledge that I should have removed valuables from the vehicle, but after the accident I was shaken up and simply wasn't thinking about it. What disappointed me most was not just the missing cash, but the lack of response afterward. I called multiple times, left messages, and even spoke with a technician who said his boss would contact me. I never received a call back. A reputable business should at least address a concern of this nature, even if there is disagreement about what happened. While I'm satisfied with the repair work itself, the lack of communication throughout the process and the complete failure to respond to my concerns afterward left me with a very negative overall experience. I'm not sure whether my experience was influenced by the fact that the repair was handled through insurance rather than being paid out of pocket, but that shouldn't affect the level of customer service a customer receives. read more

TLDR; great auto body work but terribly disorganized Let me start this off by saying that up until my last week of dealing with GT I was super impressed. Throughout the 8 month process (2 month wait to get my car in, about 6 to fix due to extreme part delays out of their control), Salina was kind, communicative and patient. She called to give me updates regularly and readily gave updates when I called asking for them. The issues actually became apparent when my car was done. Salina called and said we just had to wait on final insurance payments before I could pick it up. After a few days I followed up with my insurance, who had no idea that anything was outstanding and had thought my car would be returned to me. The details would require me to write a novel here but essentially I spent HOURS (12+) over a week's time while my car sat repaired in their lot trying to mediate between GT and my insurance. At multiple points I went into the shop because I was told by my insurance that based on the documentation in the system, they had paid everything and my car should be given back to me. Again Salina was professional and level headed, and offered me their loaner so I wouldn't have to pay for extending my rental... yet I didn't get my car back. In one instance when I went into the shop, Kelly, the owner, and I, got into a more-heated debate... at which point I, a grown woman, decided to involve my dad. As I predicted and have experienced with other mechanics, Kelly lowered the amount of money he was asking for by hundreds of dollars pretty immediately after speaking to an older man instead of a woman in her later 20s. In the end it turns out that GT was issuing new invoices AFTER my car was done, with duplicate line items that my insurance could not approve. I'm convinced I only got my car back when I did because GT was tired of hearing from me every other hour. I was never given an apology when this issue was clearly a product of disorganization on their part and I got the feeling that they were hoping that I would be the one to get exasperated and just pay the difference to get my car back. As someone who chose this auto body shop based on my trusted regular mechanic's recommendation, in an effort to support a small business instead of going to the dealership, I am extremely disappointed and angry after this debacle. Cherry on top: my car was returned looking new and mostly clean but with a large section of tape gunk still on the windshield directly in the drivers' view that I now get to go scrape off. read more

I visited GT car shop for some minor damages on my car that I got from stupid things like hitting a deep pothole and backing in to my garbage can ‍ No insurance involved for me but I called around to compare prices. Not only did GT car shop have good prices for my repairs, but they were so darn friendly!! Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and personable, and clearly knew their stuff. Even when I was confused on describing exactly which part I needed fixed over the phone, they helped walk me through it and were just so knowledgeable. Our 2016 Kia Forte was rear-ended at the end of last year. We got it cleared to go in for repairs at GT Car Shop on the 31st of January. It is now the second week of April and I still don't have my car back. Contrary to what many other reviewers have experienced, I have found GT Car Shop non-communicative, slow and dishonest. I was quoted a two-week turnover on repairs based on the damage in photos. After such time had passed with no updates, I called the shop myself. I was told that Kia was being slow to send in the replacement parts for our back bumper and trunk. They said they'd put in the request at the beginning of that week and that they should expect the parts by the third week of February. Not a problem for us, we understand the supply chain is messed up and excused them not expressly communicating this first delay to us. After another week had passed with no word, I called again. This time, they told me that the manufacturer was still experiencing a delay. Alright, not GT's fault. GT finally e-mailed our Insurance Agent on the 15th of March to confirm that all the parts had arrived and the final leg of work could be done. They did not call to update us. What followed was 3 more weeks of GT delaying repairs and failing to contact us at any point. 3 weeks in a row I called and was told that things, "should be done next week." Plans made on the pretense that I would have my car fell through for a whole month. Monday the 11th, we are told that repairs are done but a calibration on the ABS System needs to be done by a tech on Tuesday. We picked up the car anyways because GT said it was safe to drive and asked if we could come back for the calibration. I was to return in the morning, when the tech was present for calibration.I was led to believe that the tech would be there for multiple cars and arriving around 9 would be optimal for a quick calibration, so I showed up at 9. When I arrived they handed me papers to drop the car off... again. I am defeated at this point so I hand over the keys. I called at 12 30 and they told me they still haven't seen the tech. They told me they'd update me on the tech's schedule, they're calling/texting. It is now 2 30 and they have yet to update me on the schedule. I would not be nearly so upset with any of these delays if GT had actually reached out to us first at any leg of the repair process. I was told, too many times, that the lady at the desk was, "just about to call us." read more

My car was in a pretty severe accident a few months back, and after searching reviews on body repair shops, I settled on GT. I am very glad I did! The customer service was excellent, everyone I spoke with was kind and patient, even after there was a mixup with insurance payments. They were willing to work with me on picking up my car after hours and were very flexible when I had to leave my car for an additional couple of days due to going on vacation. Once I received my car I was more then pleased with the work done. It looked as good as new, and was cleaned when I retrieved it. They came highly recommended from another place, and I'm so glad I went there. My car needed a simple fix, but it put me in quite a bind since the window wouldn't roll up and it's the middle of WINTER!! I called GT's on a Friday (of a holiday weekend). I knew the car couldn't be seen until Monday, but everything after that was a breeze! Dropped my car off and by Monday at 2pm I got a call that everything was done. They were able to put my window back on track without replacing parts, which was a huge relief. They were fast, efficient, wonderfully friendly, and more than fair with the price! I had some front end damage to my vehicle that needed repairs. After doing some investigation of my own, a highly respected business close to my home recommended GT Car Shop for body work. I decided to go ahead and take my vehicle to them for an estimate. I was so pleased with the price that I decided to ask them to schedule me for the repairs. I only had to wait two weeks, which surprised me given that other places wanted me to wait six weeks. When you walk in, you can immediately tell just by looking at the shop that it is well run and orderly. The people are all friendly and highly skilled. This place is a diamond in the ruff kind of place. Anyone would be more than satisfied trusting GT Car Shop to take care of their car repairs. My vehicle looks like it never got into an accident. I've brought my car into GT twice now, and I had an amazing experience with them. The staff is extremely friendly and up front about what the work will take in terms of time and cost. One time when I went there, somebody had broken into my truck and I needed to get the driver side window repaired, and they were able to get the parts and install it for me on the same day. My girlfriend's car was just in the shop as well, and they did a fabulous job on it too. She was thrilled to have her car looking as good as new and enjoyed her experience with GT. They dealt with her insurance company so that she didn't have to. This shop is absolutely my go-to repair shop if I am ever in need of more repairs on my truck. read more

I brought my car to GT for post-accident repairs based on the shop's reputation. Overall I think they did a good job, though a couple shortcoming left me less than thrilled. On the positive side, they did a good job staying in contact with me through the repair process to keep me informed of their progress. Also, the quality of the repairs were good, especially considering they had to struggle with aftermarket parts. But my search for the ideal body shop continues. My hope was that the repairs would be of such high quality that I would not be able to tell the car had been in an accident. Here GT did not get perfect marks. The color match between the existing paint and what they did on the replaced parts was clearly off on a couple panels. Plus, when they discovered at the last minute that the aftermarket bumper was hopelessly warped they should have completed all other work possible to minimize the delays to me. But they waited until the bumper was complete before doing the alignment - and discovering that suspension parts needed to be replaced. That cost me several days without my car. Overall, they do a good but not excellent job. If you are particular about your car I recommend investigating other options first. For everyone else GT is a solid choice. read more

They considered repainting my roof given the level of damage but were able to use paint-less dent repair alone and the results were perfect. they didn't try to up-sell me. Its never fun to need a body shop. When I got into a fender bender with my brand new car I was in shock. The owner Kelly helped to make an unpleasant situation better by telling me he would make my car pretty again. He and the staff at GT Car Shop did just that!
